  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design sliding mode observers for a class of uncertain time-delay systems. Using LMIs we derive an existence condition of a sliding mode observer guaranteeing a stable sliding motion. And we give explicit formulas of the observer gain matrices. Finally, we give a simple LMI-based design algorithm, togeter with a numerical design example.

  • The development of physiologically based pharmacokinetic model for drug distribution and excretion is described. The physiological modeling procedure is useful in animal and clinical applications to obtain fundamental knowledge of the transport and metabolism of a substance in vivo. In this paper a review of physiologically based pharmacokinetics is presented in the hope of understanding and increasing the use of this modelling technique. The method of model development and the composition of equations based on the different models are explained. For the better understanding a physiological pharmacokinetic model of tenoxicam disposition in the rat is presented as an example of flow limited model.

  • A test method for assessing service life of building materials and components based on performance degradation data is developed. The performance of a building material degrades as time goes by and the failure of the material is often defined as the point at which the performance of the material reaches a pre-specified degraded level. A performance-based test method is developed and a numerical example is provided to illustrate the use of the developed test method.

  • This paper presents an LMI-based method to design a reduced order observer based sliding mode controller for a class of uncertain systems. Using LMIs we derive an existence condition of a reduced order observer and a sliding mode control law. And we give explicit formulas of the gain matrices. Finally, we give a numerical design example, together with a design algorithm.

예제 기반 수묵담채화 표현기술 개발 (Development of sumi-e effect from example image)

  • 수묵 담채화는 먹과 채색을 동시에 사용하는 예술 양식을 의미한다. 이는 동양 미술의 전통적인 기법중의 하나로 널리 알려져 있으며, 영화 및 광고 포스터 및 카메라의 다양한 특수효과 표현 등에 널리 활용된다. 본 연구에서는 컴퓨터 그래픽스 및 영상처리 기법을 기반으로, 참조된 예제 이미지의 수묵담채화 특징이 반영된 결과영상 생성 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이를 위해 우리는 크게 두 가지 단계를 거친다. 첫 번째 단계는 채색 효과 표현단계이다. 우리는 예제 영상에 나타나는 재질감을 수치적으로 분석해 결과 영상에 반영할 수 있는 질감 전이 기법을 활용하였다. 두번째는 먹선 효과의 표현이다. 우리는 예제영상의 윤곽선에서 나타나는 명도 변화 값을 고려하여 먹선 효과를 표현하였다. 우리의 알고리즘은 선택된 참조 영상에 따라 다양한 느낌의 수묵 담채 스타일의 결과를 표현할 수 있으며, 이 기법은, 다양한 콘텐츠 생성 연구에 활용 가능하다.

  • Two diagnostic measures based on the likelihood distance for constrained regression with linear constraints on regression coefficients are derived. They are used for identifying influential observations in constrained regression. A numerical example is provided for illustration.

In this presentation, I will introduce disposable bioreactor system and analyze key factors and points for consideration during mammalian cell culture process development.   • In insurance statistics, the sum of homogeneous insurance is often needed. The sum is called individual risk model which is a fundamental model in risk analysis for insurance. This paper first presents an individual risk model based on the uncertainty theory. Then its uncertainty distribution is provided. Finally, its arithmetic is shown by a numerical example.

  • The pole placement technique for control design of the current mode controlled DC-DC switchmode power converter is proposed. It is compared with conventional transfer function analysis. Using the pole placement technique control design automation algorithm, by computer-based tool is presented. Control design example with large signal simulation is shown.
