  • We study the incomprssible Navier Stokes equations for the flow inside contraction geometry. The governing equations are expressed in the vorticity-stream function formulations. A rectangular computational domain is arised by elliptic grid generation technique. The numerical solution is based on a technique of automatic numerical generation of acurvilinear coordinate system by transforming the governing equation into computational plane. The transformed equations are approximated using central differences and solved simultaneously by successive over relaxation iteration. The time dependent of the vorticity equation solved by using explicit marching procedure. We will apply the technique on several irregular-shapes.

  • This paper deals with the solutions of linear inhomogeneous time-fractional partial differential equations in applied mathematics and fluid mechanics. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. The fractional Green function method is used to obtain solutions for time-fractional wave equation, linearized time-fractional Burgers equation, and linear time-fractional KdV equation. The new approach introduces a promising tool for solving fractional partial differential equations.

  • In this paper, we establish some new oscillation criteria for a second-order delay dynamic equation $$u^{{\Delta}{\Delta}}(t)+p(t)u(\tau(t))=0$$ on a time scale $\mathbb{T}$. The results can be applied on differential equations when $\mathbb{T}=\mathbb{R}$, delay difference equations when $\mathbb{T}=\mathbb{N}$ and for delay $q$-difference equations when $\mathbb{T}=q^{\mathbb{N}}$ for q > 1.

  • A numerical model to analyze dam break flows has been developed based on approximate Riemann solver. The governing equations of the model are the nonlinear shallow-water equations. The governing equations are discretized explicitly by using finite volume method and the numerical flux are reconstructed with weighted averaged flux (WAF) method. The developed model is verified. The first verification problem is about idealized dam break flow on wet and dry beds. The second problem is about experimental data of dam break flow. From the results of the verifications, very good agreements have been observed

  • Using Generalized Inverse Method presented by Udwadia and Kalaba in 1992, we can obtain equations to exactly describe the motion of constrained systems. When the differential equations are numerically integrated by any numerical integration scheme, the numerical results are generally found to veer away from satisfying constraint equations. Thus, this paper deals with the numerical integration of the differential equations describing constrained systems. Based on Baumgarte method, we propose numerical methods for reducing the errors in the satisfaction of the constraints.

  • This paper describes the numerical solution to the hyperbolic system of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations. First, by pointing out the approximations involved, the deal MHD equations are presented. Next, the MHD waves as well as the associated shocks and discontinuities, are presented. Then, based on the hyperbolicity of the ideal MHD equations, the application of upwind schemes, which have been developed for hydrodynamics, is discussed to solve the equations numerically. As an definite example, one and multi-dimensional codes based on the Total Variation Diminishing scheme are presented. The treatment in the multi-dimensional code, which maintains ${\nabla}{\cdot}$B = 0, is described. Through tests, the robustness of the upwind schemes for MHDs is demonstrated.

  • A generalized finite difference method for solving solid mechanics problems such as elasticity and crack problems is presented. The method is constructed in framework of Taylor polynomial based on the Moving Least Squares method and collocation scheme based on the diffuse derivative approximation. The governing equations are discretized into the difference equations and the nodal solutions are obtained by solving the system of equations. Numerical examples successfully demonstrate the robustness and efficiency of the proposed method.

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the design parameters and to develop the cooling and heating load prediction equations of office buildings. The building load calculation simulation was carried out using the DOE-2.1E program. The results of the simulation was used as a data for ANOVA and multiple regression analysis which could develop the load prediction equations.
