보육교사의 임파워먼트와 교직지향성 및 교직지향 이유의 관계 (The Relationships between Empowerment and Child Care Teachers' Intention of Teaching, the Reason for Teaching Intent)

  • This study was designed to examine the relationships between empowerment and child care teachers' intention of teaching, the reason for teaching intent. The subjects were 181 child care teachers from Chungcheongnamdo and the city of Daejeon, Korea. This study was conducted using questionnaires. The results were as follows: first, there were significant relationships between empowerment and child care teachers' intention of teaching and, the reason for teaching intent. There were positive relationships between decision making, professional growth, status, self-efficacy, autonomy, impact empowerment and child care teacher' intention of teaching and, the reason for teaching intent. Second, child care teachers' intention of teaching and the reason for teaching intent were affected by empowerment. Status and professional growth empowerment were the most predictive variables for the child care teachers' intention of teaching. The impact and self-efficacy empowerment were the most predictive variables for enjoy working with children, impact and professional growth empowerment were the most predictive variables for finding meaning in teaching, impact and status empowerment were the most predictive variables for opportunities to face ongoing challenges, and achievement motive. Status empowerment were the most predictive variable for reasonable pay and working environment, stability and skill. Therefore, status and impact empowerment were the most predictive variable for the reason for teaching intent.

Review of the Cervical Cancer Burden and Population-Based Cervical Cancer Screening in China

  • Cervical cancer continues to be a serious public health problem in the developing world, including China. Because of its large population with geographical and socioeconomic inequities, China has a high burden of cervical cancer and important disparities among different regions. In this review, we first present an overview of the cervical cancer incidence and mortality over time, and focus on diversity and disparity in access to care for various subpopulations across geographical regions and socioeconomic strata in China. Then, we describe population-based cervical cancer screening in China, and in particular implementation of the National Cervical Cancer Screening Program in Rural Areas (NACCSPRA) and the challenges that this program faces. These include low screening coverage, shortage of qualified health care personnel and limited funds. To improve prevention of cervical cancer and obtain better cancer outcomes, the Chinese government needs to urgently consider the following key factors: reducing disparities in health care access, collecting accurate and broadly representative data in cancer registries, expanding target population size and increasing allocation of government funding for training of personnel, improving health education for women, enhancing quality control of screening services and improving a system to increase follow up for women with positive results.

요양병원평가가 요양병원 종사자의 근무환경, 직무만족과 서비스 질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of National Evaluation of Long-Term Care Hospitals on Hospital Workers' Work Environment, Job Satisfaction, and Quality of Services)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the work environment and job satisfaction of hospital workers and to assess their effects on quality of services under the national long-term care hospital evaluation (hereafter, national evaluation), which has implemented since 2008. Methods: A self-administered survey was conducted on 178 hospital workers' at 18 hospitals in Chungcheong province, Korea. Survey questionnaires include questions about respondent' awareness of the national evaluation and any change in work environment and job satisfaction under the national evaluation. We used a path analysis to assess the effects of work environment and job satisfaction on quality of services. Results: Results showed that the effects of the national evaluation on work environment and job satisfaction were positive, which, in turn, leads to better quality of services. Improvements in the work environment under the national evaluation have resulted in increased job satisfaction. High scores for job satisfaction showed a significant association with the quality of services provided in long-term care hospitals. In addition, the national evaluation itself had a positive effect on improving quality of services. Conclusions: In order to facilitate quality improvement activities under the national evaluation, it is suggested that workers be provided with education and training. Continuous efforts to improve work environment and to enhance job satisfaction would lead to provision of better quality of services in long-term care hospitals.

요양병원 간호사의 간호근무환경과 이직의도 관계: COVID-19 심리적 스트레스의 매개효과 (Effect of Nursing Work Environment on Turnover Intention of Nurses in Long-Term Care Hospitals: The Mediating Effect of COVID-19 Stress)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the mediating effect of Psychological stress of COVID-19 stress on the relationship between nursing work environment and turnover intention of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Methods: The participants were 176 nurses working at three long-term care hospitals in Changwon City. Data were collected from August 11 to 14, 2021, using self-report questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression, using the SPSS 23.0 software. A mediation analysis was performed according to the Baron and Kenny's test, and Sobel test. Results: Turnover intention was positively correlated with Psychological stress of COVID-19 stress (r=.23, p=.002) and negatively correlated with nursing work environment (r=-.44, p<.001). Psychological stress of COVID-19 stress had a significantly negative relationship with nursing work environment (r=-.15, p=.045). Psychological stress of COVID-19 stress partially mediated the relationship between nursing work environment and turnover intention. Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that a positive nursing work environment can help nurses reduce their Psychological stress of COVID-19 stress and turnover intention. To reduce the turnover intention among nurses' in long-term care, it is necessary to promote better work environments suitable for COVID-19 and to establish detailed strategies for reducing their physiological stress.

도심 어린이집 주변 도로상 대기오염도 특징 (On-road Air Pollution Characteristics around a Day-care Center in Urban Area)

  • Five on-road measurements were made using a mobile laboratory (ML) to characterize spatial and temporal air pollutant distributions over roads around a day-care center in urban area on 30 August 2013. Fixed monitoring was also done near the day-care center using the ML during the periods between on-road measurements. On-road air pollution monitoring route was classified into seven sections and three zones to identify severe polluted roads among many roads having different traffic volumes and directions. Typical pollutants emitted from vehicles such as $NO_x$, black carbon, particle-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and submicron particles including nanoparticles were monitored using real-time instruments. Peak concentration episodes were frequently observed during the on-road measurements and most peaks were simultaneously monitored at four pollutants. Colored on-road air pollution map for each pollutant provides an insight on spatial air pollution distribution, showing heavily polluted roads and sections. Average on-road $NO_x$ concentration of each run was similar to that monitored at the nearest roadside air monitoring station.

산후 조리원 실내 환경 계획에 관한 연구 (Research on the Interior Environment Planning of a Postpartum Care Center.)

  • 산후조리원은 불과 십여 년 전부터 등장한 시설이지만, 현재 우리나라의 산후 조리 문화를 바꿔놓았다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 저 출산이 사회적 현상이 되어버린 지금 대부분의 산모들은 산후 조리원을 이용하고 있다. 하지만 산후조리원은 법적, 제도적 뒷받침이 되어있지 않은 상태로, 세무서에 사업자 신고만 하면 누구나 시설을 운영할 수 있기 때문에 기본적인 시설을 갖추지 못한 산후조리원이 난립하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 대상자나 운영면에서 일반 시설과 다른 특성을 갖고 있으나 보건 복지법 상이나 의료법 상에서의 시설 기준이 명확치 못한 산후 조리원의 효율적 공간 구성과 사용자의 편의을 고려한 실내 환경 계획을 제시 하였다. 진행은 서울 경기지역의 산후조리원 6곳을 선정하여 조리원 공간의 구성을 진입공간, 거주공간, 공용공간, 간호공간, 관리 및 부속공간 등의 5가지로 구분하여 그 실태를 조사하고, 개선방향을 제시함으로써 향후 건립될 산후 조리원의 실내 환경 계획을 수립하고자 한다. 본 연구는 산후 조리원 이용자들의 만족도를 높이고, 보다 효율적으로 시설이 운영되어 질 수 있도록 도움을 주는 실내 건축 계획의 기초적 자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.

한국 노인장기요양시설 및 재가 요양보호사들의 노동환경과 노동조건 개선방안 (The Strategy for Improving Work Environment and Working Conditions among Long-term Health Care Workers in Korea)

  • Background: This study aimed to establish a strategy to improve the poor working environment and working conditions among long-term healthcare workers in Korea. Methods: A total of 600 questionnaires with which long-term health care workers participated in the targeted base areas of each city and province nationwide were distributed directly and 525 responses were collected and 506 responses were analyzed. Surveys, on-site field visits, and in-depth interviews were also conducted to understand the working environment as well as conditions and establish a strategy for improving the working environment among long-term healthcare workers to understand the demands of working conditions and working conditions. Results: Korean long-term care workers firstly and mostly enumerated their risk factors for ill-health when lifting or moving elderly recipients directly by hand (69.9%), followed by increased physical workload with old beds, tools, and facilities (42.3%) in the workplaces, shortage of manpower (32%), and source of infection (30%). To improve the working environment as well as conditions, Korean long-term care workers considered improving low-wage structures, ergonomic improvements to solve excessive physical loads, and increasing various bonus payments as well as implementing the salary system, positive social awareness, and increasing resting time. Of 506 responses, 92.3% replied that the long-term care insurance system for the elderly should be developed to expand publicization at the national level. Conclusion: This study proposes to improve the low-wage structure of Korean long-term care workers, automation and improvement of facilities, equipment, and tools to eliminate excessive physical loads (beneficiary elderly lifting), and reduction of night labor.

영아특성 및 보육환경(보육시설과 교사)변인이 영아의 놀이실 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Toddlers' Characteristics and Child Care Environments on Toddlers' Behaviors in Child Care Center)

  • 본 연구는 영아특성 및 보육환경(보육시설과 교사)변인이 영아의 놀이실 행동에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 직접 관찰을 통해 조사 분석하였다. 울산광역시에 위치한 8개 보육시설(국 공립 보육시설: 4개, 민간 보육시설: 4개)에서 27-35개월 된 영아(toddlers) 40명을 자유놀이 시간에 교실에서 관찰하였다. 각 영아는 20초 관찰, 10초 기록의 시간표집방법에 의해 총 42회 관찰하였으며, 영아의 사회적 행동은 또래와의 상호작용과 교사와의 상호작용으로 나뉘어졌다. 수집된 자료를 분석하기 위해 SPSSWIN 통계프로그램을 이용하여 Person의 적률상관계수, t-검증, 일원분산분석과 Duncan 검정, 단계적 회귀분석 등을 실시하였다. 그 결과 영아특성(toddlers' characteristics), 보육시설의 모든 변인과 교사변인 중 전체경력, 영아반경력, 결혼여부, 소지자격유형에서만 영아의 놀이실 행동(toddlers' behavior in a child care center)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 영아특성 및 보육환경(child care environment)(보육시설과 교사)변인 중 영아의 놀이실 행동에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인은 영아특성, 보육시설변인, 보육교사변인 순으로 나타났다.

일개 국립대학병원의 진료.교육.연구 기능에 대한 평가 (Evaluation of Patient Care, Education, and Research as Indicators of University Hospital Performance)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the environments of patient care, education, and research as indicators of university hospital performance. The objective data for this study were collected by secondary data. The subjective data were collected by a total of 523 questionnaire survey interviews conducted in C university hospital, of which 123 were students, interns, or residents, 76 were professors, and the remaining 324 were patients. The major statistical methods used for the analysis were t-test and ANOVA. We found that the environment of patient care is better than the environment of education and research in C university hospital. While the concern for patient care of C university hospital was about 60%, the equivalent figures for education and research were both 20%. And the patients' satisfaction level was higher than the others. The environment of education and research was found to be deficient in some aspects, especially in such areas as facilities, equipment, and investment. In particular for professors the time for research was very limited because of the demands of patient care. These findings clearly demonstrate that university hospitals need to pay greater attention to the areas of education and research, as well as to patient care. This article concludes with a discussion and summary and presents issues in need of further study.

치매요양시설에서의 치료를 위한 빛·색채의 시설적 적용 특성에 관한 고찰 - 정성적 및 정량적 적용 특성을 중심으로 (A Study on the Characteristics of Application for Therapeutic Light and Color in Dementia Care Facilities - Focused on Qualitative and Quantitative Application Characteristics)

  • Purpose: This study has been started with the awareness that light and color are the main visual sensors of the multi-sensory stimulation environment to achieve the therapeutic environment for demented elderly. The purpose of this study therefore is for clarifying the application characteristics of therapeutic light and color for dementia care facilities. Methods: Internal and external literature reviews have been conducted for the investigation into a)disorders and visual system in demented elderly, b)therapeutic effects of light and color, c)heliotherapy, light therapy and color therapy to deduce the therapeutic characteristics of light and color for demented elderly, and finally into d)the application characteristics of it for dementia care facilities. Results: The application characteristics of the therapeutic light and color for dementia care facilities are classified into both qualitative and quantitative characteristics. Qualitative application characteristics of light represented using of daylight, using of lighting approximate to daylight, expansion of iluminance level, equality in iluminance Level, reduction of shadow, and as well as exclusion of blare. Quantitative application characteristics of it represented iluminance level, color temperature and color rendering index prescribed in international lighting standards. Qualitative application characteristics of color represented non-monochromatic color, color contrast, long wavelength of yellow-red colors, exclusion of short wavelength of blue colors and patterns, and as well as different colors for idenfication. Quantitative application characteristics of it represented kontrast(K) prescribed in DIN32975:2009 and light reflectance value(LRV) prescribed in BS8300:2009. Implications: To form dementia care facilities as therapeutic environment both qualitative and quantitative application characteristics of therapeutic light and color in dementia care facilities are needed.
