  • An optimally labelled graph of bandwidth 2 is an ordered pair (G, f) where G is a simple graph with bw(G) = 2 and $f:V(G){\rightarrow}[n]$ is a bijection such that bw(G, f) = 2. In this paper, the number of optimally labelled graphs of bandwidth two of order n is enumerated by counting linear forests.

  • Eubacterium is one of the predominant bacteria in the human large intestine. currently ES (Eubacterium Selective) medium developed by T. Mitsuoka is commonly used as a selective medium. neomycin sulfate which is one of the selective agents of ES medium inhibited about 50% of the growth of Eubacterium isolated, whereas malidixic acid inhibited only 5% while inhibiting other intestinal bacteria. NES medium which replaced neomycin with nalidixic acid in the ES medium was designed and shown to be better for the isolation and enumeration of Eubacterium sp. than ES medium.

Transfer Matrix Algorithm for Computing the Geometric Quantities of a Square Lattice Polymer

  • I develop a transfer matrix algorithm for computing the geometric quantities of a square lattice polymer with nearest-neighbor interactions. The radius of gyration, the end-to-end distance, and the monomer-to-end distance were computed as functions of the temperature. The computation time scales as ${\lesssim}1.8^N$ with a chain length N, in contrast to the explicit enumeration where the scaling is ${\sim}2.7^N$. Various techniques for reducing memory requirements are implemented.

  • 최근 모바일 애플리케이션의 보급과 사용은 급속도로 확장되고 있으며, 이 과정에서 모바일 애플리케이션의 보안이 새로운 문제로 대두되고 있다. 일반적인 소프트웨어의 안전성은 시큐어 코딩을 통해 개발 단계에서 부터 검증까지 체계적으로 이루어지고 있으나 모바일 애플리케이션의 경우는 아직 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 모바일 애플리케이션에 특화된 취약점 항목을 도출하고 이를 기반으로 취약점을 분석할 수 있는 취약점 분석기를 설계하고 구현한다. 취약점 목록은 CWE(Common Weakness Enumeration)와 CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team)를 기반으로 모바일 애플리케이션의 특징인 이벤트 구동방식을 한정하여 도출하였으며, 분석 도구는 동적 테스트를 통하여 애플리케이션 소스 내에 취약점이 존재하는지 검사한다. 또한 도출된 취약점 목록은 모바일 애플리케이션을 작성하는 프로그래머의 지침서로 활용 될 수 있다.

  • 항공기, 철도, 선박과 같은 대형 시스템들은 전기, 기계적으로 매우 복잡한 구조를 가졌으며 부품의 수명만을 고려한 기존의 유지보수에서 탈피하여, 고장분석의 시스템화를 통해 장치의 고유수명과는 관계없이 발생 가능한 우발고장도 대처할 수 있는 신뢰성 기반의 유지보수체계를 연구하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 선행연구로 필요한 복합 시스템의 신뢰도 계산방법에 관한 연구이다. 복합 시스템의 신뢰도를 효과적으로 계산하기 위해 시스템의 RBD(Reliability Block Diagram)를 구성하고 인접행렬을 사용하여 RBD(Reliability Block Diagram)를 행렬로 표현한다. 또한 RBD(Reliability Block Diagram)행렬을 통하여 신뢰도 경로행렬과 고장열거 행렬을 구성하여 시스템의 신뢰도를 계산한다. 본 연구에서 제안한 알고리즘은 자동화, 시스템화가 가능하며 현재 개발하고 있는 신뢰도 정보관리 시스템 및 신뢰성 기반 유지보수 시스템에서 활용될 것이다.

Rapidly quantitative detection of Nosema ceranae in honeybees using ultra-rapid real-time quantitative PCR

  • Background: The microsporidian parasite Nosema ceranae is a global problem in honeybee populations and is known to cause winter mortality. A sensitive and rapid tool for stable quantitative detection is necessary to establish further research related to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of this pathogen. Objectives: The present study aimed to develop a quantitative method that incorporates ultra-rapid real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (UR-qPCR) for the rapid enumeration of N. ceranae in infected bees. Methods: A procedure for UR-qPCR detection of N. ceranae was developed, and the advantages of molecular detection were evaluated in comparison with microscopic enumeration. Results: UR-qPCR was more sensitive than microscopic enumeration for detecting two copies of N. ceranae DNA and 24 spores per bee. Meanwhile, the limit of detection by microscopy was 2.40 × 104 spores/bee, and the stable detection level was ≥ 2.40 × 105 spores/bee. The results of N. ceranae calculations from the infected honeybees and purified spores by UR-qPCR showed that the DNA copy number was approximately 8-fold higher than the spore count. Additionally, honeybees infected with N. ceranae with 2.74 × 104 copies of N. ceranae DNA were incapable of detection by microscopy. The results of quantitative analysis using UR-qPCR were accomplished within 20 min. Conclusions: UR-qPCR is expected to be the most rapid molecular method for Nosema detection and has been developed for diagnosing nosemosis at low levels of infection.

서울시 일부지역 冷凍牛肉 및 豚肉의 細菌學的 調査硏究 (A Microbiological Study on the Frozen Beef and Pork in Seoul Area)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the bacterial contamination of retailed beef and pork in Seoul area. For this study 44 samples were collected at butcheries and department stores from March to April, 1987 and were examined on the following items. 1. Comparison of bacterial contamination between butcheries and department stores. 2. Degree of bacterial enumeration by repair method of injured microorganisms in the frozen beef and pork. 3. Degree of bacterial contamination in the frozen beef and pork. As the result of this study, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. Difference of bacterial contamination between butcheries and department stores was not significant. 2. Enumeration of total bacterial count by solid repair procedure resulted in about 1.5-fold increase in beef and about 1.8-fold increase in port. 3. Enumeration of total coliform count by liquid repair procedure resulted in about 32.1-fold increase in beef and about 12.0-fold in pork. 4. Salmonella species were not detected, but Staphylococcus species were detected 8 cases (18.2%) in beef, 7 cases (15.9%) in pork. 5. In total bacterial count, all beef samples were lower than 10$^6$/g, but 2 pork samples were higher than 10$^6$/g. 6. The ratio of total coliform count to total bacterial count was 0.07 in beef, 0.05 in pork by standard method and 0.48 in beef, 0.25 in pork by repair method.

인천연안 해역의 Vibrio속 세균분포 및 증식특성 (Distribution and characteristic of growth of Vibrio spp. in Incheon coastal area)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of environmental factor such as temperature, salinity, turbidity, pH and dissolved oxygen on the growth of Vibrio spp.. In this survey, total 56 seawater samples were obtained from 8 different sites of the Incheon coastal area during the periods from april 2008 to october 2008. Enumeration of Vibrio spp. was determined by using the most probable number(MPN) procedure. Isolation rates of V. parahaemolyticus, V. vulnificus, V. cholerae in all samples tested were 44.0%, 21.4% and 13.1%, respectively. The enumeration of Vibrio spp. was very low correlated with water temperature and pH and negatively correlated with salinity, dissolved oxygen and turbidity. We found salinity to be the parameter most highly correlated with the enumeration of Vibrio spp. The highest rate of antibiotic resistance of V.vulnificus and V.parahaemolyticus was Cefazolin(11.5%), Ampicillin(70.8%), respectively.

SKEW CYCLIC CODES OVER Fp + vFp

  • In this paper, we study a special class of linear codes, called skew cyclic codes, over the ring $R=F_p+vF_p$, where $p$ is a prime number and $v^2=v$. We investigate the structural properties of skew polynomial ring $R[x,{\theta}]$ and the set $R[x,{\theta}]/(x^n-1)$. Our results show that these codes are equivalent to either cyclic codes or quasi-cyclic codes. Based on this fact, we give the enumeration of distinct skew cyclic codes over R.

1상 임상실험에서 수정된 CRM에 대한 연구 (Investigation on the modified continual reassessment method in phase I clinical trial)

  • 최근에 1상 임상실험 에서 사용되는 continual reassessment method (CRM)에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 세 명의 환자를 하나의 환자 군으로 삼아 동일한 용량을 투여하는 수정된 CRM에 대한 연구를 실행하였다. 지금까지 CRM에 대한연구는 대부분 시뮬레이션에 의존하여 왔지만, 본 논문에서는 모든 가능한 경우를 고려하는 방법(complete enumeration)을 사용하였다. 이 새로운 방법은 시뮬레이션을 대체할 유용한 방법이라 사료된다. 이 새로운 방법을 이용하여, 용량독성곡선이 logistic함수, hyperbolic tangent 함수, power 함수일 때, 수정된 CRM에서 결정한 최대허용용량에서의 독성 확률이 목표 독성 확률로 잘 수렴함을 보였다. 하지만, 실험 전에 용량들을 적절히 선택하지 못하면, 최대허용용량에서의 독성 확률이 목표 독성 확률과 상당한 차이를 낼 수도 있음을 발견하였다.
