The Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd.(KOSEP) held a design competition for Energy Theme Park at Yeong-Heung power plant in October, 2004. The site is located in 980-1 Oe-ri, Yeong-Heung myun, OngJin gun, Incheon City and has an area of $54,450m^2$. Design objectives of KOSEP were to make environmentally sustainable space, to build a symbolic and gathering place for community members and visitors, to make a tourist spot of Yeong-Heung Island linked with adjacent sight spots in OngJin gun, and to elevate an identity and status of the KOSEP by creating a landscape correspondent to the concept of the building design. The spatial concept of this project was developed by expressing a circular course of energy, named 'energy circle' and accounting for principles of energy generation. By interpreting 'energy circle' and principles of energy generation, and applying it to the site, the design met the various desires of the KOSEP. This design consists of seven theme spaces; the future energy plaza, the wind plaza, the light plaza, the thermal power plaza, a water strider dam, a ecological pond and the stratum plaza. These theme spaces are consecutively placed along the circular path which surrounds the public information building and to represent how power plants generate energy in each space and diverse design techniques and special effects are used.
Educational efforts in integrating various subjects which are closely related to one another have had positive results. Additionally, integrating subjects has shown to be more effective than teaching subjects independently. The purpose of this study is to propose, construct, and develop a theme-based integrated program that teaches elementary school student's subjects which are outside the regular curriculum such as electricity, electronics, programming, and energy by using Diki-3000. Thus, having considered the theoretical background of theme-based integrated program, elementary school subjects including home economics, science, social studies, and extracurricular activities have been analyzed and restructured into theme-based program. Students will learn about and familiarize themselves with these subjects by utilizing the Diki-3000 product. This program aims to improve students understanding of the aforementioned subjects by combining Diki-3000's strengths as an educational tool with the contents of theme-based integrated program. Moreover, the learning experiences gained from completing critical problem-solving activities which are beyond normal subject knowledge is expected to help develop learners' positive thinking skills.
The purpose of this study was to provide information about exhibits for nuclear energy in science museums. This analysed form and content of exhibits of science museums. The subjects were exhibits of 3 science museums; Seoul science park, Seoul national science museum, Gwachen national science museum. The research results were as follows: First, 3 science museums had similar methods of exhibits and types of explanations because of speciality of theme. 3 science museums had mostly fixed exhibit. Panel was the most types of explanations in 3 science museums. Second, 3 science museums had similar contents of exhibits. They dealt with nuclear power generation and radiation. However, Some parts such as radioactive waste, nuclear fusion generation had different. This study suggests that exhibits for nuclear energy of science museums use a variety of methods and types of explanation. Also, science museums need to increase exhibits for nuclear energy.
The project of promoting the economy has attracted attention as on strategy for the economic revitalization of abandoned mine areas which is promoting by local government based on the "Special law on the development of abandoned mine areas". Through the analysis of economic feasibility analysis, the government is trying to determine the presence or absence of budget support to project of promoting the economy of local government. Furthermore, this paper attempts to conduct a cost-benefit analysis, using net present value(NPV), benefit/cost(B/C) ratio, internal rate of return(IRR) techniques for project of promoting the economy of Samcheok City. The project of promoting the economic of Samcheok City is promoting the Yukbaeksan flowers rest park and Glass Art Culture and Tourism theme park. The results indicate that NPV, B/C ratio and IRR of Yukbaeksan flowers rest park are 3,937 million won, 1.06, 6.18% and NPV, B/C ratio and IRR of Glass Art Culture and Tourism theme park are 8,311 million won, 1.34 and 9.47. Accordingly, the projects of promoting the economic of Samcheok City ensure economic feasibility that the three indicators have exceeded 0, 1.0 and 5.5% respectively. Moreover, the analysis results can be used effectively in the decision for the project of promoting ecomony of Samcheok city.

According to the result of PISA and TIMSS, it was reported that interest for Math and Science was far lower compared to high achievement of Them. The purpose of this study is to investigate effects of robot based STEAM education on elementary school students' Math learning behavior and Science motivation. Robot based STEAM education integrated science, mathematics and art with a theme of 'Energy' was practiced for test group and For control group, those three subjects were taught separately in order to achieve this purpose. Curriculum of fourth grade second semester's science, mathematics and art was analysed to teach a robot based STEAM class and STEAM class Model with the theme 'Energy was designed and applied to elementary students. In science class, heat transfer experiment was conducted with robots and the result was related to drawing polygonal lines in mathematics. In art class, robot components were used to describe the heat energy in shapes and colors. The research shows that students' Math learning behavior and Science motivation were improved more with robot based STEAM education than with traditional lessons(p<.05). It proves that robot based STEAM class can be effective for improving interest in elementary Math and Science.
Gwangju Metropolitan Government & Ministry of Environment have signed a model city in response to Climate Change agreement. The agreement calls for Gwangju to cut greenhouse gas emissions 10% below 2005 levels by 2015. Gwangju has seen this agreement as an opportunity to cut pollution and conserve the environment as well as to reinvigorate local economy. According to policy of Gwangju, Gwangju held design competition for Gwangju City Arboretum on march, 2009. The purpose of design competition was to give a wide publicity to Gwangju as Hub City of Asian Culture and construct carbon-neutral arboretum in accordance with the policy of 'Low-Carbon and Green Growth'. First of all, a design concept of arboretum is 'winding, round, overlay 'to reflect the landscape of Nam-do which is surrounded by mountains and river flows through the village. Second, the arboretum has five different places with these themes - Forest of Festivals, Health, Nature, Nostalgia, Education and Future. Each place has a symbolic theme park and different flow planning respectively. Third, the most critical point is that the arboretum is a carbon-neutral park. Gwangju arboretum will soon be developed in metropolitan sanitary landfill and constructed as the O2 arboretum based on low carbon strategy. Fourth, the O2 arboretum suggests specialized issue : 'Energy Saving', 'Recycling System', 'Green Network', 'Water System(rainwater maintenance and wetland development)'. Besides, main buildings(greenhouse, visitor center, Nam-do experience exhibition hall, and forest museum) is designed in consideration of harmony with topography character, surroundings. Also, planting will be a multilayer plant based on native landscape trees in consideration of function and the growth characteristics.

In the state of Positronium (Ps), which is an unstable material created by the temporary combination of electrons and positrons, the imaging technology through photo-conversion methodology is emerging as a new research theme under resonance conditions through terahertz electromagnetic waves. Normally, Positronium can be observed in the positron emission computed tomography (PET) process when an unstable, separate state that remains after the pair annihilation of an electron and a positron remains. In this study, terahertz (THz) waves and Cherenkov radiation (CR) are generated using the principle of ponderomotive force in the plasma wake-field acceleration, and electrons and positrons are simultaneously generated by using a relativistic electron beam without using a PET device. We confirm the possibility of Positronium photoconversion technology in terahertz electromagnetic resonance conditions through experimental studies that generate an unstable state. Here, a relativistic electron beam (REB) energy of 0.5 MeV (γ=2) was used, and the terahertz wave frequencies is G-band. Meanwhile, a THz wave mode converting three-stepped axicon lens was used to apply the photoconversion technology. Through this, light emission in the form of a luminescence-converted Bessel beam can be verified. In the future, it can be used complementarily with PET in nuclear medicine in the field of medical imaging.
This paper deals with the historical development of research community in Korea. As the former studies of the korean scientific community show, the government supported institutes played an important role in the formation of research community. Therefore the theme of this study is concerned with the historical development of the government supported institutes and the features of their researcher group. In this paper following questions will be answered: How the social status of these researcher group is changed, what kind of response on social problems or national politics they had, and which characteristic they showed with regards to the identity problem. After the korean liberation the government institutes, such as the Chungang Kongop Yonguso(industrial research center)and the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute, contributed to the development of the first generation of research group. However this research group could hardly identify themselves as researcher, because they spent much time on testing, evaluation or education. The identity problem is also resulted from the deficiency of authority as research institute. The status of researcher had no difference from that of civil servant. With the establishment of KIST the korean research community came into blossom. The government supported institutes, which were founded after the model of KIST, allowed quantitative and qualitative growth of research community. Thanks to the guarantee of institutional authority and the new reward system, the researcher could get respect and improve its social status. During this period the researcher volunteered to help the government policies. We can find often the nationalistic statements in the research community. During 1990s the research group demonstrated different behaviors and attitude toward the government. The nationalistic ideology disappeared. Instead of that, the research group criticized the government policies and took actions against the government. Those changes are related with the lowered position of government supported institutes.
