  • This paper is concerned with data center remote management service for demanding forecasting and reduction of energy usage. More particularly, intelligent server rack, mounted on inside of the data center, collects information about energy usage and temperature per server. Using this information, management platform forecasts energy demand in the future and automatically makes report according green environment raw. By providing the remote management service through remote terminals, users are not tied to a time and place to control device inside the data center. In this way, the data center remote management service enhances operability of the facility.

  • A practical application of a supercapacitor energy storage system in a polarization instrument is proposed on the basis of the energy storage requirements of an induced polarization (IP) transmitter for geophysical exploration. We focused on the energy storage system of a supercapacitor, the topology of the power converter, and the system control strategy as key technologies, and we performed theoretical research and experimental tests on the system and developed an experimental platform. The experiments validated the theoretical research on the key technologies of the supercapacitor energy storage system and demonstrated the effectiveness of the innovation. Results showed that the storage system is efficient and satisfies the energy storage needs of the IP transmitter.

Recent Advances in Catalyst Materials for PEM Water Electrolysis

  • Due to the intermittency of renewable energy sources, a need to store and transport energy will increase. Hydrogen production through water electrolysis will provide an excellent way to supplement the intermittency of renewable energy sources. While alkaline water electrolysis is currently the most mature technology, it has drawbacks of low current density, large footprint, gas crossover, etc. The PEM water electrolysis has potential to replace the alkaline electrolysis. However, expensive catalyst material used in the PEM electrolysis has been the bottleneck of widespread use. In this review, we have reviewed recent efforts to reduce catalyst loading in PEM water electrolysis. In core-shell nanostructures, the precious metal catalyst forms a shell while heteroatoms form a core. In this way, the catalyst loading can be significantly reduced while maintaining the catalytic activity. In another approach, a corrosion-resistant support is utilized, which provides a stable platform to impregnate precious metal catalyst.

  • 본 연구는 재생에너지와 관련된 에너지 분야의 동향과 관계구조를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 SNS Data를 포한한 Big Data를 중점으로 분석하였다. SNS는 Instragram 플랫폼을 활용하여 재생에너지 해시태그들을 수집하였으며, 빅데이터 분석, 소셜네트워크 분석을 위한 워드임베딩 방법으로 사용하였고, 본 연구에서 도출된 결과를 토대로 재생에너지 산업의 발전에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • A statistical annoyance model to railway noise at platform was proposed by jury evaluation test performed in hearing laboratory. ITX-Saemaeul and Mugunghwa were chosen as the noise sources of the test, and announcement sound was included to simulate real situation. Logistic regression analysis produced %HALAB curve. Hosmer-Lemeshow test and classification accuracy test were used to verify the model's statistical significance. It was shown that the model which was generated from relatively small number of samples is statistically significant.

원전 안전필수 계측제어시스템의 주기적 자동고장검출기능에 따른 고장허용 평가모델 (The Fault Tolerant Evaluation Model due to the Periodic Automatic Fault Detection Function of the Safety-critical I&C Systems in the Nuclear Power Plants)

  • This study suggests a generalized availability and safety evaluation model to evaluate the influences to the system's fault tolerant capabilities depending on automatic fault detection function such as the automatic periodic testings. The conventional evaluation model of automatic fault detection function deals only with the self diagnostics, and supposes that the fault detection coverage of self diagnostics is always constant. But all of the fault detection methods could be degraded. For example, the periodic surveillance test has the potential human errors or test equipment errors, the self diagnostics has the potential degradation of built-in logics, and the automatic periodic testing has the potential degradation of automatic test facilities. The suggested evaluation models have incorporated the loss or erroneous behaviors of the automatic fault detection methods. The availability and the safety of each module of the safety grade platform have been evaluated as they were applied the automatic periodic test methodology and the fault tolerant evaluation models. The availability and safety of the safety grade platform were improved when applied the automatic periodic testing. Especially the fault tolerant capability of the processor module with a weak self-diagnostics and the process parameter input modules were dramatically improved compared to the conventional cases. In addition, as a result of the safety evaluation of the digital reactor protection system, the system safety of the digital parts was improved about 4 times compared to the conventional cases.

  • Oil & Gas 플랜트의 PDM 구축과정에서 서버의 구성은 만족스러웠으나, 클라이언트 부분의 경우 모든 작업환경에 최적화되기에는 한계를 가진다. 본 보고서에서는 개발 Toolkit과 4GL을 이용하여 플랜트 PDM을 사용자가 보다 편리하고, 빠르게 적용할 수 있는 클라이언트 프로그램의 작성에 대한 사례를 살펴본다. 본문의 내용은 실제 구현되어진PDM의 기능들을 기술한다.

  • When it comes to automatic operation control of urban rail vehicle, a PID control makes it run between stations within the fixed time and stop exactly at the stop sign on the platform, satisfying jerk limit. An optimal control is applied to automatic operation performance control to minimize energy consumption while the urban rail vehicle satisfies automatic operation condition on this paper. The control performance in terms of energy minimization along with the constraint on precision stops is compared between the optimal control and PID control.

  • The porous transport layer (PTL) is essential to effectively remove oxygen and hydrogen gas from the electrode surface at high current density operation conditions. In this study, the effect of PTL with different characteristics such as pore size, pore gradient, interfacial coating was investigated by multi-layered sintered mesh. A water electrolysis single cell of active area of the 34.56 cm2 was constructed, and IV performance and impedance analysis were conducted in the range of 0 to 2.0 A/cm2. It was confirmed that the multi-layered sintered mesh PTL, which have an average pore size of 25 to 57 ㎛ and a larger pore gradient, removed bubbles effectively and thus seemed to improve IV performance. Also, it was confirmed that the catalytic metals such as Ni, NiMo coating on the PTL reduced activation overpotential, but increased mass transport overpotential.

잠재디리클레할당을 이용한 한국학술지인용색인의 풍력에너지 문헌검토 (Review of Wind Energy Publications in Korea Citation Index using Latent Dirichlet Allocation)

  • The research topics of more than 1,900 wind energy papers registered in the Korean Journal Citation Index (KCI) were modeled into 25 topics using latent directory allocation (LDA), and their consistency was cross-validated through principal component analysis (PCA) of the document word matrix. Key research topics in the wind energy field were identified as "offshore, wind farm," "blade, design," "generator, voltage, control," 'dynamic, load, noise," and "performance test." As a new method to determine the similarity between research topics in journals, a systematic evaluation method was proposed to analyze the correlation between topics by constructing a journal-topic matrix (JTM) and clustering them based on topic similarity between journals. By evaluating 24 journals that published more than 20 wind energy papers, it was confirmed that they were classified into meaningful clusters of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, marine engineering, and renewable energy. It is expected that the proposed systematic method can be applied to the evaluation of the specificity of subsequent journals.
