섭식장애의 생물학적 및 정서적 병인기전에 대한 새로운 지견 (New Insights on the Biological and Emotional Pathogenesis of Eating Disorders)

  • Objectives This paper aims to understand the emotional-biological pathogenesis of eating disorders, and translate the understanding into new brain directed treatments. Methods The first part of the review sets the eating behavior into the context of what is now understood about the central control of appetite and molecular biology. The second part of the review sees how emotion relates to the brain circuit involving eating disorders. Results In general, patients with anorexia nervosa restricting type were less sensitive to reward, whereas patients with bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa binge purging type were more sensitive to it. The emotional life of people with eating disorders centers on food, weight, and shape. The abnormalities in social and emotional functioning both precede and persist outside of eating disorders. Conclusions Research into understanding the biological framework of the brain in eating disorders suggests that abnormalities may exist in emotional and information processing. This aspect can be translated into novel brain-directed treatments, particularly in anorexia nervosa.

  • This study considers application types and meanings of fashion engineering by analyzing CuteCircuit. The conclusions of this study are as follows. The application type of fashion engineering shown in CuteCircuit is first, electronic fashion, which attaches LED or WL on the surface of clothes to express the decorative function in clothes as optical light change, ultimately performing one-dimensional function. Second, interactive fashion is a medium in which clothing connects human beings with other human beings with sensors that can recognize the changes in tactile or movement with the wearer or with a light source that can visualize the emotional changes of the wearer. Third, scientific fashion has emerged as a new type of fashion in which new materials introduced in the field of engineering are fused with clothing to expand functionality and aesthetics. The meanings of fashion engineering in CuteCircuit is first, trying to conceptualize a new beauty as an open fashion that can freely change with the creation of a dual beauty by combining analog and digital sensibility. Second is the external representation of human psychological change or emotional exchange, which helps to form a consensus by understanding and exchanging emotions of different people. Third, reorganization of apparel pursuing integrated value appeared. Clothing, as a connection body in which the human body and the mechanical environment are combined with each other, is reestablished as a product of variable body that can embody an integrated value that includes various characteristics and can be diversified appropriately in any circumstance.

  • Objective: This study is to review three representative psychological perspectives that explain scientific construct of emotion, that are the discrete emotion model, appraisal model, and dimensional model. Background: To develop emotion sensitive interface is the fusion area of emotion and scientific technology, it is necessary to have a balanced mixture of both the scientific theory of emotion and practical engineering technology. Extensional theories of the emotional structure can provide engineers with relevant knowledge in functional application of the systems. Method: To achieve this purpose, firstly, literature review on the basic emotion model and the circuit model of discrete emotion model as well as representative theories was done. Secondly, review on the classical and modern theories of the appraisal model emphasizing cognitive appraisal in emotion provoking events was conducted. Lastly, a review on dimensional theories describing emotion by dimensions and representative theories was conducted. Results: The paper compared the three models based on the prime points of the each model. In addition, this paper also made a comment on a need for a comprehensive model an alternative to each model, which is componential model by Scherer(2001) describing numerous emotional aspects. Conclusion: However, this review suggests a need for an evolved comprehensive model taking consideration of social context effect and discrete neural circuit while pinpointing the limitation of componential model. Application: Insight obtained by extensive scientific research in human emotion can be valuable in development of emotion sensitive interface and emotion recognition technology.

감각처리와 감정조절의 관련성에 대한 문헌고찰 (The Relationship Between Sensory Processing and Emotional Regulation : A Literature Review)

  • 목적 : 본 연구에서는 감정조절에 대한 신경학적 메커니즘을 이해하고, 감정조절과 감각처리의 연관성에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 본론 : 신경학적으로 감정조절은 주로 둘레계의 구조물에 의해 처리되고 특히, 편도의 바닥-바깥쪽 그룹이 주요한 역할을 한다. 바닥-바깥쪽 그룹은 감각의 중계소인 시상과 직 간접적으로 연결되어 감각 정보에 대한 처리를 함께 한다. 이 감각 정보는 눈-안쪽 앞 이마엽과 연결되어 감각처리 및 감정과 관련된 복잡한 행동을 하게 한다. 시상, 편도, 눈-안쪽 앞 이마엽의 연결 회로로 인해 부적절한 감각처리는 감정조절과 행동에 어려움을 발생시킬 수 있다. 자폐스펙트럼장애와 주의력결핍과잉행동장애 아동에서 편도 및 앞 이마엽의 비정상적인 처리에 대한 신경학적 연구가 보고되고 있다. 결론 : 자폐스펙트럼장애와 주의력결핍과잉행동장애 아동은 신경계의 상태가 다르고 이는 감각처리와 감정조절, 행동에서 다양한 양상을 나타낸다. 치료사는 아동의 행동에 영향을 미치는 감각처리와 감정조절에 대한 신경학적 메커니즘을 이해하고, 치료적 적용을 할 필요가 있다.

감성조명 시스템을 위한 색온도 조정 가능한 LED 조명 (An LED Lighting with Varying Color Temperature for Emotional Lighting Systems)

  • This paper presents an LED lighting which can control its color temperature. It consists of a power factor correction (PFC) circuit, an LED driver, and an LED color control circuit. The proposed system can adjusts the light intensity to obtain a desired color with independently changeable illuminance. The power factor of the PFC circuit is 98%. The LED driver has 90% efficiency at 300mA output current. The output power of the experimented LED lighting is 150 W. The achieved color temperature range was from 3000K to 7500K, and the illumination one was from 500 lux to 1500 lux.

  • 본 논문에서는 신재생에너지 활용을 위한 다중 추적식 태양광 발전 감성형 LED 가로등을 제안한다. 제안하는 가로등 시스템은 다중 추적방식의 태양광 추적기능을 갖추고 있고 감성형 고품위 LED 램프와 제어회로를 사용하여 센서를 통해 입력되는 온도 및 습도를 기반으로 최대의 일조량을 받을 수 있도록 하였다. 신재생에너지 활용의 핵심 요소인 효율적인 축전지 활용을 위해 충방전 컨트롤러를 개발하였고 원격모니터링 기능 및 제어기능도 구현 하였다. 제안하는 가로등 시스템은 기존 기술에 비하여 추적 동작이 우수하고 에너지효율이 향상되었으며 기존에 개발되지 않았던 추적식 태양광 발전 시스템과 감성형 LED를 결합함으로써 차세대 가로등 시스템의 모델로서의 활용될 수 있게 하였다.

시조를 활용한 감정 비율의 문학생리학 (Literary Physiology of an Emotional Ratio Using Sijo)

  • 삶의 치유는 무덤으로 통할까, 아니면 죽음이 삶을 치유할 수 있을까. 삶에 있어서의 치유는 삶의 공간의 감정 회로에 존재한다. 그러면 죽음에서의 치유는 어떤 공간에 존재할까. 일단은 죽음에서의 치유는 삶의 너머에 있다. 임제(林悌, 1549~1587)는 그가 사랑하는 황진이의 무덤에서 슬픔의 시조를 읊은 것으로 유명하다. 문학치료를 위해, 이번에는 임제가 황진이의 무덤에서 읊었다고 하는 시조 "청초 우거진 골"의 감정들을 코딩하려고 한다. 이 시조는 사랑과 죽음, 무덤과 슬픔이라는 고통같은 슬픔의 사랑을 노래한다. 즉 사랑과 아픔 혹은 사랑과 이별이라는 상반된 개념이 일으키는 인간의 감정이 어떻게 융합하는지에 관련된 것이다. 임제의 이 시조는 무덤과 사랑과 슬픔이라는 기표들을 융합하여 '인생의 무상함'을 코딩한다. 이 '인생의 무상함'이 이 시조의 문학치료 기능이다. '인생의 무상함'은 인체의 긴장을 풀어주는 치유의 역할을 한다. 이렇게 문학치료가 이루어지면 아무리 고통스러운 삶이라도 우리들은 여유를 가지게 된다. 이 시조에서 전달하는 '인생의 무상함'에 대한 슬픔이 삶 전체를 관조하며 관용하는 문학치료의 효과를 전달하기 때문이다. 앞으로 이러한 연구를 지속하여 새로운 삶에 대한 감정 코딩이 이루어지길 기대한다.

Dopamine-dependent synaptic plasticity in an amygdala inhibitory circuit controls fear memory expression

  • Of the numerous events that occur in daily life, we readily remember salient information, but do not retain most less-salient events for a prolonged period. Although some of the episodes contain putatively emotional aspects, the information with lower saliency is rarely stored in neural circuits via an unknown mechanism. We provided substantial evidence indicating that synaptic plasticity in the dorsal ITC of amygdala allows for selective storage of salient emotional experiences, while it deters less-salient experience from entering long-term memory. After activation of D4R or weak fear conditioning, STDP stimulation induces LTD in the LA-ITC synapses. This form of LTD is dependent upon presynaptic D4R, and is likely to result from enhancement of GABA release. Both optogenetic abrogation of LTD and ablation of D4R at the dorsal ITC in vivo lead to heightened and over-generalized fear responses. Finally, we demonstrated that LTD was impaired at the dorsal ITC of PTSD model mice, which suggests that maladaptation of GABAergic signaling and the resultant LTD impairment contribute to the endophenotypes of PTSD. 기분장애 뇌신경기저에 대한 이해 : 뇌영상 연구를 중심으로 (Understanding of Neural Mechanism of Mood Disorders : Focused on Neuroimaging Findings)

  • Mood disorder is unlikely to be a disease of a single brain region or a neurotransmitter system. Rather, it is now generally viewed as a multidimensional disorder that affects many neural pathways. Growing neuroimaging evidence suggests the anterior cingulate-pallidostriatal-thalamic-amygdala circuit as a putative cortico-limbic mood regulating circuit that may be dysfunctional in mood disorders. Brain-imaging techniques have shown increased activation of mood-generating limbic areas and decreased activation of cortical areas in major depressive disorder(MDD). Furthermore, the combination of functional abnormalities in limbic subcortical neural regions implicated in emotion processing together with functional abnormalities of prefrontal cortical neural regions probably result in the emotional lability and impaired ability to regulate emotion in bipolar disorder. Here we review the biological correlates of MDD and bipolar disorder as evidenced by neuroimaging paradigms, and interpret these data from the perspective of endophenotype. Despite possible limitations, we believe that the integration of neuroimaging research findings will significantly advance our understanding of affective neuroscience and provide novel insights into mood disorders.

Dopamine signaling in food addiction: role of dopamine D2 receptors

  • Dopamine (DA) regulates emotional and motivational behavior through the mesolimbic dopaminergic pathway. Changes in DA signaling in mesolimbic neurotransmission are widely believed to modify reward-related behaviors and are therefore closely associated with drug addiction. Recent evidence now suggests that as with drug addiction, obesity with compulsive eating behaviors involves reward circuitry of the brain, particularly the circuitry involving dopaminergic neural substrates. Increasing amounts of data from human imaging studies, together with genetic analysis, have demonstrated that obese people and drug addicts tend to show altered expression of DA D2 receptors in specific brain areas, and that similar brain areas are activated by food-related and drug-related cues. This review focuses on the functions of the DA system, with specific focus on the physiological interpretation and the role of DA D2 receptor signaling in food addiction.
