Data are numbers and texts, images, sound etc in real world. But, data is represented as a sequence of 1s and 0s in computer. It is very difficult that elementary students understand the concept of data representation through traditional lecture method. In this paper, we analyzed the software education curriculum of KAIE and selected contents of data representation education for the mid-grade elementary students. Also, we developed teaching- learning materials and multimedia contents for data representation education. The method proposed in this paper is expected to contribute to software education for data representation education.

Lately, the importance of robot education is rising in elementary schools, because of STAEM education. In this study, robot and convergence activity curriculum in software education was developed to robot education for elementary school. We suggested robot education framework based on the Rainbow system, which is repeatable and progressive. The framework is divided into 7 steps, 14 criteria. So, their students can be promoted to the higher level when they complete the lower level, regardless of their grade. It is necessary for robot education in elementary schools to develop the contents and programs according to suggested curriculum.

The process for the information society centered on the internet supplied us a space of another life, cyber space. In the reality that the cyber space exercised its influence on the our society outstandingly, this researcher think that it needs to have to discuss about the cyber school in the elementary schools by making use of experience the soft landing of cyber university. This study suggested the model of cyber elementary school applicable to the elementary schools, and discussed with the operational plan by the model. Also, it examined the field teachers' opinions about the model classification and operation through the questionnaire, and analyzed the result. It was divided into the four sorts of cyber elementary schools like the school support type, school associated type, and independent type, and transitional period type. This study researched the concept by the model each, the object and purpose of major education, the operational system, curriculum and contents. As a result of collecting their opinions through the questionnaire, it is desirable to be operated as the transitional period type and the school support type in case of the introduction of cyber elementary schools in the present elementary schools.

In this thesis, a survey was conducted on elementary school teachers about the establishment of information subjects in elementary schools. As a result, the opinion that information subjects should be newly established for ICT literacy education and SW/AI education in elementary schools was very high. In addition, if it is difficult to establish a new information subject, opinions in favor of the organization of the information subject as an autonomous subject using the discretionary time of the principal were high. In light of the results of this analysis, it is judged that it is necessary to establish a new information subject for ICT literacy education and SW/AI education in the next elementary school curriculum. However, if it is difficult to establish a new information course, it is necessary to come up with a plan that can be operated in the form of autonomous subject for students wishing to learn SW/AI. And it is judged that the number of class hours should be secured for at least 1 hour or 2 hours per week in the 3rd grade and above.

The purpose of this study was to be of use for the preparation of more desirable sex education system at elementary school, by making content analysis of the current textbooks related to sex education and surveying what opinions the persons concerned had about it. The purpose of this study were as follows; Elementary school textbooks were analyzed to find out what kind of sex education was included in them. And questionnaires on how to improve school sex education content were prepared, by which 207 male and female teachers were surveyed in the city of Paju and Koyang, Kyonggi province. The conclusions were as follows; 1. Content Analysis of Textbook Sex Education The content related to sex education was relatively much included in textbooks of the right life, morality and physical education. Although morality was a subject to be instructed for the third-grade students or older, elementary school students virtually received sex education from the first grade, as the right life and the joyful life were a subject for the lower-grade students, and this met the goal of sex education or the need of the times. However, sex education content leaned heavily toward family, family life or parental love. There was no mutual complement among subjects, and no link among grades, either. 2. Teacher Opinion on Sex Education Content for Each Grade When the subjects were asked about if sex education content was appropriate for each grade, they answered 20 items should be more emphasized and 6 items might be left out. And there were 6 items regarded by them as one that should be rearranged in consideration of grade. 3. The Ideal Opinion of Sex Education Content The following model could be recommended for elementary school sex education, which was designed to meet the objectives of school sex education as much as possible and to offer a systematic link among grades, based on the findings by textbook analysis and Questionnaire survey, and on elementary school sex education materials recommended by the Ministry of Education: The content selected for the first grade of elementary school was my body, cleanness of genitals, male-female cooperation, and family cooperation. For the second grade, the selected content was male-female physical difference, male female psychological difference, parental and I(origin of a birth). For the third grade, the selected things were important a body(cleanness of genitals), birth of a life, and male-female comprehension and cooperation. For the fourth grade, the selected things were physical development, management of genitals, physiology and management of menstruation, propagation and growth of organism, concern for the other sex, comprehension of and cooperation with the other sex, and prevention of sexual violence. Four the fifth grade, the selected things were secondary sex characteristic, physiology and management of menstruation, operation for phimosis, understanding of seminal emission, structure and function of the genital organs, birth and growth of a baby, television/sex information, and mass communications/sex information. For the sixth grade, the selected things were secondary sex characteristic, understanding of seminal emission, male-female cooperation, male and female role, male-female manners, mass communications/sex information, family and family life. Finally, what should be taught in sex education must be studied constantly, as it should be revised or supplemented periodically, according to student's sexual maturity or social, cultural changes.

The software education to elementary students will be conducted from 2019. One of highlights of software education is a programming experience. It requires a higher level of programming education to students that are interested in programming. This problem can be solved by the club activities. But the materials for programming education for elementary students is not much. Therefore, we developed a programming material for club activities of the elementary school. We did not develop it as a programming manual. The students can understand a problem, can design through decomposition and abstraction processes, and can write a program when they are learning with this material. As a result, we expect that they can enhance their computational thinking abilities. We proved that our material is suitable for elementary students through a demonstration class. Therefore, we expect that our development methodologies for the material for programming education will contribute to develop a material for programming education.

In the past society, it was possible for parents to provide career guidance at home and career education without professional education courses and knowledge about career education at school since the simple job and the slow pace of social change. However, in modern society, the profession itself becomes complicated, and professional functions and knowledge are required in the profession, and the job world is changed and also a lot of jobs will disappear. This change has made it difficult to establish the value of work and then career education has become very important and urgent. In this paper we develop a career education app for elementary school students and then examine the pedagogical effect of career education app on career education. We applied our proposed course to an elementary school in Seoul. In the course, totally eight hours of classes were offered to the 5-6th graders of an elementary class. As a result, students who took part in the class have a better understanding of the job and also the satisfaction level of the course was also very high.

Teaching materials are an important aspect to decide the quality of education. Science teaching materials include textbook, workbook, worksheet, OHP materials, posters, computer softwares, experimental equipments, slides, video tapes, and other audio-vidual materials. This comparing research is based on the contemporary teaching materials used in elementary schools of the United States and Korea in 1990s. The results of this study are : 1. The United States has more elementary science teaching materials such as posters, worksheets, computer softwares, OHP materials than Korea. Both countries developed elementary science textbooks, activity books, video tapes, science reading materials, and experimental equipments. 2. The frequancy of using these science teaching materials in Korea is bigger than that in the United States. In Korean elementary science classes, most of instructions are progressed by experimental activities. Korean elementary science textbooks are mostly consisted of science activities, but those of the United States includes science information, science related jobs, STS articles and some portion of science activities. 3. Experimental equipments of the United States are stronger than those of Korea. Various and excellent elementary science teaching materials such as computer softwares, posters, audio-vidual materials, and experimental equipments should be developed and used in elementary science classes for better elementary science education.

According to the school autonomy plan on April 15, 2008, schools have a responsibility for ICT in education policy. Because of this plan, A guideline for governmental action for ICT education was repealed, on the contrary, responsibilities for ICT education in school level has increased. The radical exchange of education policy has a big impact on decision-making about ICT in education policy in school level. Consequently, the digital divide is generated between students, teachers and schools. So, this paper is intended as an investigation of decision-making types and awareness of teachers about ICT in education policy in elementary school. And this paper presents new ideas for decision-making of ICT policy in elementary schools.

In the history of elementary school mathematics education in Korea, the period led by the Government-General of Joseon during the Japanese colonial period cannot be omitted. As a way to grasp the real state of elementary school mathematics education at that time, there is a method of analyzing elementary school mathematics textbooks published by the Government-General of Joseon. However, the actual state of the publication of them was not sufficiently known. For this reason, this study surveys the actual state of the publication of those textbooks. To this end, real information on textbooks owned currently by various institutions and information on the publication of those textbooks in the official gazette and documents of the Government-General of Joseon were checked and organized.
