정보가전기기의 효과적인 차폐시스템 구현 (An Implementation for Effective Shielding System of Information Electronic Equipments)

  • In this paper, electromagnetic wave environment generated from electronic equipments was investigated. Since the main source of electromagnetic waves are electronic equipments, the field intensity of a harmful electromagnetic wave was measured and its harmful level was analyzed. It was also found that the result was 23%${\sim}$38% in case of TV set and microwave oven. Based on this analysis, this study proposed efficient shielding method to suppress unwanted electromagnetic wave.

Novel Smart Polymeric Composites for Thermistors and Electromagnetic Wave Shielding Effectiveness from TiC Loaded Styrene-Butadiene Rubber

  • The electrical conductivity during vulcanization process was measured as a function of time for the system of TiC loaded styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) composites. The phenomenon of negative and positive temperature coefficients of conductivity and its conduction mechanism were also studied for the SBR polymeric composites. The current-voltage characteristics of the polymeric composites were non-linear in high voltage and showed a switching effect. The effects of temperature on the thermal conductivity and effective dielectric constant were measured. The measured parameters were found to be dependent on TiC concentration. The electromagnetic wave shielding (EMS) of the SBR-TiC polymeric composite was also examined. The SBR filled with TiC could be expected to be promising novel smart polymeric composites for self-electrical heating, temperature sensor, time delay switching, and electro-magnetic wave shielding effectiveness.

전자파 차폐 임부복 개발을 위한 고령 산모의 임부복 착용 실태조사 (Actual Wearing State of Aged Pregnant Women for the Development of Electromagnetic Waves Shielding Maternity Wear)

  • This study conducted basic studies to develop electromagnetic wave shielding maternity wear. We investigated electromagnetic wave shielding fabrics and products as well as surveyed actual wearing states for pregnant women aged 35 to 44 and women who gave birth within the past one year. Available electromagnetic wave blocking products for pregnant women were blankets, aprons, maternity belts, and underwear. These only cover the abdomen and it was hard to find out electromagnetic waves shielding maternity wear, which can enhance functionality and complement the body shapes of pregnant women. The aged mother responded pregnancy delay was mostly attributable to late marriage, career, financial difficulty and health problems. Major health threats to babies were high stress levels during pregnancy, followed by electromagnetic waves from electronic devices. They prioritized physical activity, design, functionality and safety when wearing maternity wear. When purchasing maternity wear, they emphasized design, price, materials and size. The most preferred clothing was one-piece dress; consequently, only 11.1% of them were satisfied with the quality of maternity wear with complaints mostly about design and price. A total of 63% of respondents tried to protect themselves from electromagnetic waves. Most aged mothers showed a positive intention on purchasing electromagnetic waves blocking maternity wear for babies with concerns dealing with safety of materials, prices, ease of laundry, and body complementing design.

  • As the use of various electronic equipments has been increased recently according to industrialization and information network establishment, concern about electromagnetic wave exposed environment has also been increased. Therefore, this study aims to verify electromagnetic wave absorbing effects of inorganic paint that is made of carbon, electro-conductive materials with regard to its physical characteristics, its electromagnetic wave absorbing rate through a mock-up test for proving its effects in the indoor condition. The results are as follows: The results of running tests on electromagnetic wave absorbing inorganic paints for checking their requirements as painting material such as adherence degree, resistance to fine crack, resistance to washing, alkali-resistance, discoloration-resistance, etc. show that inorganic paints have the physical characteristics meeting the requirements for painting materials. In addition, it shows that the electromagnetic wave absorbing effect, in line with the number of paintings and the thickness of paintings, secures $75\~89\%$ of efficiency. And the mock-up test shows that the electromagnetic wave absorbing effect inside building is directly proportional to the distance from the source of electromagnetic wave such as electronic equipments.

  • EMP(Electromagnetic Pulse)는 통상적으로 고출력 전자기파 (High Power Electromagnetic: HPEM)를 의미한다. EMP를 차폐하기 위한 차폐 판의 경우, 현장 적용 시, 용접 및 볼트의 연결부(접합부)에서 시공자의 숙련도 및 불량시공, 차폐판의 변형 등으로 인한 전자파 차폐성능 저하의 가능성을 유발하고 있으며, 또한 벽체로부터 이격거리로 인한 비효율적인 공간 활용이 문제점으로 지적 되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구는 콘크리트 벽체를 대상으로 반사손실에 대한 전자파 차폐성능을 확보하기 위한 일환으로서, 콘크리트에 금속용사 공법을 적용하여 최적의 전자파 차폐 조건을 도출하고자 한다. 실험변수로는 콘크리트 벽체 두께, Zn-Al 금속용사 적용 유무이다. 콘크리트 벽체의 경우, 일반적으로 적용되어지고 있는 벽체 두께인 100~300mm이며, 또한 전자파 차폐성능에 관한 Zn-Al 금속용사 공법의 실효성을 평가하기 위해 적용 유무로 구분하여 실험변수를 설정하였다. 실험 결과 두께가 증가할수록 흡수 손실의 증가로 인해 전자파 차폐성능이 증가하였다. 또한 Zn-Al 금속용사 적용 후 모든 시험체에서 평균 56.68 dB의 상당한 차폐성능 증가를 보였으며, 이는 금속용사 피막의 반사손실에 의하여 증가된 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 전도성 혼입재료와 금속 용사 피막을 동시에 적용할 경우 보다 우수한 차폐성능을 나타낼 것으로 판단된다.

  • In this study, the shielding properties of concrete with conductive materials as shielding material for electromagne- tic pulse(EMP) within 10kHz~18GHz were investigated. The shielding effectiveness of specimens were compared with different entrained materials. The shielding effectiveness were determined according to MIL-STD-188-125-1, IEEE-STD-299 at 28 days of concrete curing. The results of shielding effectiveness did not meet the criteria(80dB) severely.

금속 용사 피막의 전기전도도 및 전자파 차폐 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Electrical Conductivity and Electromagnetic Pulse Shielding Characteristics of Metal Sprayed Coating)

  • In this study, the electrical conductivity and shielding effect were evaluated according to the type of metal and the thickness of Metal sprayed coating. The metals used for the test are Cu, Cu-Ni and Cu-Zn, and the thicknesses were 100, 200, 500 um. Each metal sprayed coating was evaluated for electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effect. When the thickness was 200 ㎛ or more, shielding effect 80 dB or more was satisfied at 1 GHz. However, in the case of Cu-Ni, there is little electrical conductivity at a thickness of 100 um or less due to the generated voids, and electromagnetic wave shielding performance cannot be expected. Therefore, To ensure electromagnetic shielding effect of structures, it is considered that the minimum thickness of metal spraying coating should be 200 um.

  • 최근들어 고성능의 전자 장비들의 구조는 점점 복잡해지고, 이로 인해 발생되는 전자파 간섭(EMI) 및 적합성(EMC) 문제는 상업적으로나 군사적으로 매우 중요한 문제이다. 자동차, 비행기, 디스플레이 산업 등에서 민감한 전자 장비들과 밀집된 시스템들은 전자기파로부터 보호될 필요성이 있다. 다중벽 탄소나노튜브(MWNT)가 첨가된 유리직물 복합재료와 전도성이 우수한 탄소복합재료를 차폐 물질로 제작하고 전기적 특성을 측정하였다. 관심 주파수 영역은 $300MHz{\sim}1GHz$의 영역이다. 전도성 필러가 첨가된 유리직물 복합재료와 이것으로 이루어진 차폐 기구물의 차폐 특성은 3-D 전자기장 해석 툴을 사용하여 예측해 보았다. 탄소복합재료 기구물의 차폐 특성은 전자파 무반향실에서 측정되었다. 설계에 따라 -20 dB 이상의 전자파 차폐 효율을 보이는 기구물을 제작할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

포도당 환원제와 PdCl2 촉매를 사용한 무전해 은도금 PET 직물의 제조 (Preparation of Electromagnetic Wave Shielding Fabrics by Electroless Silver Plating using PdCl2 and Dextrose)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the development of high quality electromagnetic wave shielding fabrics. Silver nitrate is used for polyester fabric as an electromagnetic wave shielding material. The effects of activators and electroless silver plating condition on the evenness and adhesion of silver to fabrics, are observed through the SEM micrographs. Surface morphology and wash-ability are measured using SEM. The results are as follows: The optimum weight loss by alkaline hydrolysis of polyester fabrics is about 20%. The optimum concentration of $SnCl_2$ and $PdCl_2$in catalyst reaction using $PdCl_2$ as an activator is 2.5g/L and 0.5g/L, respectively. The optimum concentration of dextrose to improve adhesion between the silver plating and fabrics is 45g/L. The optimum concentration of silver nitrate in the catalyst reaction, using $PdCl_2$ as an activator is 56g/L, respectively. The optimum plating temperature and time are $15^{\circ}C$ and 30minutes, respectively.

  • Recently, semiconductor chips and electronic components are increasingly being used in IT devices such as wearable watches, autonomous vehicles, and smart phones. As a result, there is a growing concern about device malfunctions that may occur due to electromagnetic interference being entangled with each other. In particular, electromagnetic wave emissions from wearable or flexible smart devices have detrimental effects on human health. Therefore, flexible and transparent electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials and films with high optical transmittance and outstanding shielding effectiveness have been gaining more attention. The EMI shielding films for flexible and transparent electronic devices must exhibit high shielding effectiveness, high optical transmittance, high flexibility, ultrathin and excellent durability. Meanwhile, in order to prepare this EMI shielding films, many materials have been developed, and results regarding excellent EMI shielding performance of a new materials such as carbon nano tube (CNT), graphene, Ag nano wire and MXene have recently been reported. Thus, in this paper, we review the latest research results to EMI shielding films for flexible and transparent device using the new materials.
