  • Recently, we are living in environment which various electrical appliance help our life. But the meanwhile, we had not researched how far the electromagnetic waves of electrical appliance affected the human's life. In accordance with, this paper will find out how far the human are weighed with electromagnetic waves of electrical appliance. And we will demonstrate the method that humans are failed under minimum effect from the harmful electromagnetic waves.

  • Traction motors for driving and power conversion devices using semiconductor switch are equipped with a transportation systems such as an electrical railway system. Power conversion devices have the possibility of malfunction by external electromagnetic waves. As a result, these could affect the safe operation of the railway. Moreover, the electromagnetic waves above safe limits will be harmful to the passengers inside the railway vehicles or anyone working around the rail-track. For this reason, the importance and need about the reliability check and complement of electromagnetic waves generated from the IPT(Inductive Power Transfer) system have been suggested for the safe application of the IPT system to the railway system. In this study, prediction for the electromagnetic wave properties was conducted through FEM(Finite Element Method) analysis of 5kW-class IPT system design model. Next, the 5kW IPT system prototype was made and then the small-scaled railway vehicle was made to mount the IPT system and the energy management system. Finally, the electromagnetic waves generated from the real small-scaled IPT system were measured and analyzed, and then the reliability check of predictions by FEM analysis were carried out.

  • The new RST is recently developed by the product expansion of the scattering functions in the field of acoustics. The new formulation suggests that the scattering coefficients consist of resonance, non-resonance, and their interactional components. In the scattering problems of acoustic waves, the moduli and phase of the resonance coefficient are obtained the appropriate results through the new RST. In our recent works the new RST was successfully applied to the scattering problem of electromagnetic waves for coated conducting cylinder and sphere. In this paper, the new RST is applied to the 2-dimensional scattering problem of electromagnetic waves for a homogeneous dielectric cylinder, and the numerical results are compared with the previous RST.

전자기파를 이용한 모래 지반에 설치된 현장타설말뚝의 네킹 결함 평가를 위한 실내 모형실험 (Laboratory Experiments for Evaluating Necking Defects in Bored Piles Embedded in Sandy Soils Using Electromagnetic Waves)

  • 최근 현장타설말뚝의 네킹 결함을 평가하기 위한 비파괴평가기법으로 전자기파를 적용하는 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 하지만, 전자기파의 전파는 주변 매질의 함수비에 큰 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 서로 다른 함수비의 모래 지반에 설치되어 있는 현장타설말뚝에 발생한 네킹 결함을 전자기파를 이용하여 평가할 수 있는 방법을 실내실험을 통해 고찰하고자 한다. 실내실험을 위해 네킹 결함이 있는 직경 600mm, 길이 1m의 모형 말뚝을 제작하였으며, 건조된 모래와 함수비가 10%, 20%, 30%인 모래에 설치된 조건에서 실험을 수행하였다. 전자기파의 전파를 위해 철근망에 전선을 설치하여 전송선로를 구성하였다. 전자기파의 송신과 수신을 위해 time domain reflectometer를 사용하였다. 실험결과, 모형 말뚝의 두부와 선단부뿐만 아니라 네킹 결함부에서도 전자기파의 반사 신호가 뚜렷이 나타났다. 모래의 함수비가 증가할수록 네킹 결함부에서 반사되는 전자기파 신호의 최대 진폭이 감소하였으며, 모형 말뚝 선단에서 반사된 전자기파의 속도는 네킹 결함 내의 모래의 함수비가 증가할수록 감소하였다. 하지만, 전자기파의 도달시간과 속도를 이용하여 산정된 네킹 결함의 위치와 실제 네킹 결함의 위치가 거의 같았다. 본 연구는 전자기파가 모래 지반에 설치된 현장타설말뚝의 네킹 결함을 평가하는데 유용하게 활용될 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • The propagation of electromagnetic waves in a photorefractive crystal is considered. The electromagnetic waves(i.e. TE waves and TM, waves) incident upon the crystal at any incident angle are coupled with reflected waves due to the Fresnel's reflectance in the photorefractive crystal. This coupling leads to a nonreciprocal optical transmissivity. About some incident angles, the optical transmissivity of TE and TM waves in regard to the coupling strength is investigated.

  • In this study, a relationship between DC discharge and the radiated electromagnetic waves is investigated by measuring electromagnetic waves using a biconical antenna and a spectrum analyzer. The characteristics of frequency spectrum ofthe radiated electromagnetic waves was measured at the atmospheric pressure in Liquid Nitrogen $(LN_2)$ during partial discharges in nonuniform and uniform electric field depend on positive DC power. From this experiment results, it was confirmed that when partial discharge was produced in Liquid Nitrogen and Air, the signal of partial discharge was detected by this experiment and the analysis method. It is considered thatthese results obtained from this investigation may be used as fundamental data for diagnosis and prediction of insulation on the equipments ultra-high voltage, superconducting and cryogenic applications.

  • In this paper, a relationship between AC discharge progress and the radiated electromagnetic waves was investigated by measuring electromagnetic waves using a biconical antenna and a spectrum analyzer at the atmospheric pressure in L$N_{2}$ . From the results of this study, according to the consideration of the mutual relation between frequency spectrum of the radiated electromagnetic waves and discharge progress, it was confirmed that detecting partial discharge and estimating discharge progress can be possible. It Is considered that these results obtained from this investigation may be used as the fundamental data for diagnosis and prediction of insulation on superconducting and cryogenic power equipments.

  • In recent years, We have had many civil application about electromagnetic waves according to increasing of construction of electric power facilities. This paper describes human body effect by regulation management and the guidelines of human body protection of electromagnetic waves. We try to evaluate the effect of electromagnetic waves by actual measurement at wind power generation complexes in Hang-won, Jeju.
