Fabrication and Characterization of Composite LSCF-Ag Cathode for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells using Electron Beam Irradiation Process

  • A new process to fabricate a composite LSCF-Ag cathode material for SOFCs by electron beam (e-beam) irradiation process has been suggested for operation under intermediate temperature range of $600-700^{\circ}C$. A composite LSCF-Ag cathode with uniformly coated Ag nanoparticles on the surface of the LSCF material was prepared by a facile e-beam irradiation method at room temperature. The morphology of the composite LSCF-Ag material was analyzed using a TEM, FE-SEM, and EDS. The prepared composite LSCF-Ag material can play a significant role in increasing the electro-catalytic activities and reducing the operating temperature of SOFCs. The performance of a tubular single cell prepared using the composite LSCF-Ag cathode, YSZ electrolyte and a Ni/YSZ anode was evaluated at reduced operating temperature of $600-700^{\circ}C$. The micro-structure and chemical composition of the single cell were investigated using a FE-SEM and EDS.

  • Hydrogenated Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films were Prepared by the radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (RF PECVD) method on silicon substrates using methane $(CH_4)$ and hydrogen $(H_2)$ gas for the application to solid lubricant of MEMS devices. We have checked the influence of varying RF power on tribological properties of DLC film. We have checked their performance as two kinds of method such as FFM (Friction Force Microscope) and BOD (Ball-on Disk) measurement. The friction coefficients and the contact number of cycles to steady state decreased as the increase of RF power with FFM and BOD measurement, respectively.

  • MEMS(미소전기기계시스템) 박막의 푸와송비 측정을 위한 미소굽힙기법이 제안되었다. 푸와송비 측정에 민감한 쌍원시편(두 개의 원모양)을 설계하고 표면미세가공 공정을 사용하여 제작하였다. 미소압입기로 하중을 가한 쌍원시편의 하중-변위 곡선을 분석하여 푸와송비를 측정할 수 있었다. 제안도니 미소굽힘기법은 표면미세가공에 적합하여 소자제작과정에서의 동시측정이 가능하고(in-situ measurement), 소자가 위치해 있는 작은 영영에서의 물성을 국부적으로 측정할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 제안된 기법을 검증하기 위하여 저압화학기상증착법에 의하여 증착된 2.3㎛ 다결정실리콘(Poly-silicon)의 푸와송비를 측정하였다. 실험에 사용된 다결정실리콘막의 푸와송비는 0.2569 이고 쌍원시편의 강성에 대한 측정표준편차는 2.66% 이었다.

침전-증발법에 의해 제조된 리튬이온 2차 전지용 LiMn2O4 양극재료의 특성 (Characteristics of LiMn2O4 Cathode Material Prepared by Precipitation-Evaporation Method for Li-ion Secondary Battery)

  • New wet chemical method so called precipitation-evaporation method was suggested for preparing spinel structure lithium manganese oxide ($LiMn_2$$O_4$) for Li ion secondary battery. Using precipitation-evaporation method, $LiMn_2$$O_4$ cathode materials suitable for Li ion secondary batteries can be synthesized. Single spinel phase $LiMn_2$$O_4$ powder was synthesized at lower temperature compared to that of prepared by solid-state method. $LiMn_2$$O_4$ powder prepared by precipitation-evaporation method showed uniform, small size and well defined crystallinity particles. Li ion secondary battery using $LiMn_2$$O_4$ as cathode materials prepared by precipitation-evaporation method and calcined at $800^{\circ}C$ showed discharge capacity of 106.03mAh/g and discharge capacity of 95.60mAh/g at 10th cycle. Although Li ion secondary battery showed somewhat smaller initial capacity but good cyclic ability. It is suggested that electro-chemical properties can be improved by controlling particle characteristics by particle morphology modification during calcination and optimizing Li ion secondary battery assembly conditions.

보수시기를 고려한 염해에 노출된 콘크리트 교각의 탄소량 평가 (CO2 Evaluation of Reinforced Concrete Column Exposed to Chloride Attack Considering Repair Timing)

  • 본 연구에서는 탄소배출 평가기법을 이용한 자재생산단계, 운송단계, 시공단계 뿐 아니라 보수시기 및 보수단위 탄소량을 고려하여 콘크리트 교각의 탄소배출량을 평가하였다. 혼화재료를 포함한 4가지 배합이 고려되었고 Life 365를 이용하여 염화물 침투를 평가하였으며, 이에 따른 보수횟수 및 보수시기를 설정하였다. 또한 목표내구수명동안 구조물의 피복두께를 걷어내어 재타설한 경우와 재타설 후 잔존염화물량을 제거하기 위한 전기화학적 공정의 사용유무에 따른 탄소배출량을 평가하였다. 평가결과 높은 물-결합재비를 가진 배합은 초기 시공단계에서의 탄소량은 상대적으로 적지만 보수횟수의 증가에 따라 탄소량이 증가하였으며, 탈염공법이 적용되는 경우 보수시의 단위 탄소량에 따라 전과정 탄소량이 크게 증가하였다. 보수횟수에 따라 탄소량의 증가가 발생하는데, W/B37-OPC의 경우 9번, W/B50-OPC에서는 18번, W/B40-SG에서는 4번, W/B74-SG는 7번으로 평가되었다. 더 긴 보수 불필요 기간을 가진 RC 구조물이 탄소량 감소에 유리함을 알 수 있다.

라만 맵핑 방식을 사용한 다이아몬드상 카본박막의 미세구조변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Detailed Structural Variation of Diamond-like Carbon Thin Film by a Novel Raman Mapping Method)

  • Hydrogenated Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films were prepared by the radio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (RF PECVD) method on silicon substrates using methane $(CH_4)$ and hydrogen $(H_2)$ gas. The wear track on the DLC films was examined after the ball-on disk (BOD) measurement with a Raman mapping method. The BOD measurement of the DLC films was performed for 1 to 3 hours with a 1-hour step time. The sliding traces on the hydrogenated DLC film after the BOD measurement were also observed using an optical microscope. The surface roughness and cross-sectional images of the wear track were obtained using an atomic force microscope (AFM). The novel Raman mapping method effectively shows the graphitization of DLC films of $300{\mu}m\times300{\mu}m$ area according to the sliding time by G-peak positions (intensities) and $I_D/I_G$ ratios.

환경에 따른 구조용 강의 열화거동 분석 (Analysis of Degradation Behavior of Structural Steels Depending on Environment)

  • Electro chemical corrosion tests were conducted on two structural steels, SS400 and SM490A, in various solutions with different pH values, All materials showed typical active corrosion behaviors in the solutions, and corrosion potential and current density were measured from the slopes obtained from the Tafel curves using linear polarization method. Corrosion potential increased in the acidic region and then decreased depending on the pH values of the solutions. All materials showed the fast corrosion rate in artificial acid rain(pH=4.7), but the slower corrosion rate was observed in NaOH solution(pH=12.0) for SS400 and in distilled water(pH=7.0) for SM490A, respectively, which is thought to come from the difference in chemical composition of two alloys. Generally homogeneous corrosion occurred in acid rain condition, and almost no corrosion was observed in distilled water in both alloys. NaOH solution produced more corrosion than distilled water, and more corrosion had progressed in SS400 than in SM490A in $3.5\%$ NaCl solution.

구리 CMP 공정변수 최적화를 위한 실험계획법(DOE) 연구 (A Study on DOE Method to Optimize the Process Parameters for Cu CMP)

  • Chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) has been widely accepted for the global planarization of multi-layer structures in semiconductor manufacturing. Copper has been the candidate metallization material for ultra-large scale integrated circuits (ULSIs), owing to its excellent electro-migration resistance and low electrical resistance. However, it still has various problems in copper CMP process. Thus, it is important to understand the effect of the process variables such as turntable speed, head speed, down force and back pressure are very important parameters that must be carefully formulated in order to achieve desired the removal rates and non-uniformity. Using a design of experiment (DOE) approach, this study was performed investigating the main effect of the variables and the interaction between the various parameters during CMP. A better understanding of the interaction behavior between the various parameters and the effect on removal rate, non-uniformity and ETC (edge to center) is achieved by using the statistical analysis techniques. In the experimental tests, the optimum parameters which were derived from the statistical analysis could be found for higher removal rate and lower non-uniformity through the above DOE results.

전기화학적 방법을 이용한 다중 효소 전극 제작 및 글루코스 검출 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Detection Characteristics in Glucose and Fabrication of Bi-Enzyme Electrode using Electrochemical Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 글루코스 검출을 위한 HRP (horseradish peroxidase)와 GOD (glucose oxidase)를 혼합한 형태의 다중 효소 반응 바이오센서 개발연구를 수행하였다. 바이오센서는 제작 시간 단축을 위하여 전기전착법을 이용하여 제작하였으며, 경제적인 센서 제작을 위하여 SPE (screen printed electrode)를 사용하였다. 다중 효소 바이오센서의 효과를 확인하기 위하여 단일 효소 바이오센서를 제작하여 비교 및 분석하였다. 센서의 특성을 평가하기 위해서 주사전자현미경(scanning electron microscopy, SEM), 순환전위법(cyclic voltammetry, CV), 전기화학적 임피던스 분광법(electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, EIS), 시간대전류법(chronoamperometry, CA), 흐름 주입분석법(flow injection analysis, FIA)를 수행하였다. SEM, CV, EIS의 분석결과로부터 효소가 전극 표면에 고정화가 잘 된 것을 확인하였고, CA로부터 제작된 다중 효소 바이오센서가 단일 효소 바이오센서에 비해 신호성능이 200% 향상된 것을 확인하였다. 이로부터 HRP와 GOD가 서로 촉매적으로 반응한다는 것을 설명할 수 있었다. 또한, FIA의 결과에서 동일한 농도의 글루코스 용액을 4회 나누어 주입하였을 때, 전류신호량이 일정함을 확인하였고, 농도에 따른 전류신호량을 분석하여 신호민감성, 재현성, 안정성 등이 우수함을 설명할 수 있었다.

Evaluation of Micro EV's Spreading to Local Community by Multinomial Logit Model

  • Micro Electric Vehicles are considered as a solution for reducing $CO_2$ emissions, however, it is difficult to evaluate its impact in a local community when it has been introduced. In this study, we evaluated how to spread the Micro EV within the community, using the utility derived from a multinomial logit model, and analyze the effect on $CO_2$ emissions. The householder's utility model is based on an investigation about Kiryu citizen's activities of shopping, transportation methods, etc. Using the geographic information system, we get the distances of each householder and the stores, and estimate a multinomial logit model about the combination choices of shopping stores and transportation method.
