Charged Cable Model (CCM) 정전기 방전(ESD)에 의한 전자제어장치의 손상 (Charged Cable Model (CCM) ESD Damage to ECU)

  • ESD damage by Charged Cable Model (CCM) is introduced. Due to its own impedance characteristic unlike Human Body Model (HBM) or Machine Model (MM) electric component can be destroyed even though it is located after typical protection circuit. Possible mechanism of ESD damage to automotive electric control unit (ECU) in vehicle environment by CCM discharge was investigated. Based on investigation, field-returned vehicle whose ECU is expected to be damaged by CCM discharge was tested to reproduce it and similar electric component destruction inside ECU was observed. Suggestions to reduce the possibility of ESD damage by CCM are introduced.

  • Currently under development is an airborne auxiliary power unit with 100 Kw equivalent power, which is composed of a centrifugal compressor, a reverse annular combustor, and a radial turbine. Air-foil bearings are used in this power unit to eliminate the oil supplying system, which can reduce the system complexity and weight. The high speed generator is adopted as an electric power generation and engine starting system, which can also eliminate the reduction gear system. Not only electric power but also pneumatic power is provided by bleeding the compressed air This power unit is aimed for the multi-purpose use such as a primary power unit In the army weapon system, an auxiliary power and environmental control unit in a next-generation tank, and a smoke generating unit.

Design of Model-based VCU Software for Driving Performance Optimization of Electric Vehicle

  • This study designed a model-based Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) software for electric vehicles. Electric vehicles have transitioned from conventional powertrains (e.g., engines and transmissions) to electric powertrains. The primary role of the VCU is to determine the optimal torque for driving control. This decision is based on the driver's power request and current road conditions. The determined torque is then transmitted to the electric drive system, which includes motors and controllers. The VCU employs an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and calibrated reference torque to enhance the electric vehicle's performance. The designed VCU software further refines the final reference torque by comparing the control logic with the torque calculation functions and ANN-generated reference torque. Vehicle tests confirmed the effective optimization of vehicle performance using the model-based VCU software, which includes an ANN.

  • ISO 26262 is an international standard for the functional safety of electric and electronic systems in vehicles, and this standard has become a major issue in the automotive industry. In this paper, a functional safety compliant electronic control unit (ECU) for an electric power steering (EPS) system and a demonstration purposed EPS system are developed, and a software and hardware structure for a safety critical system is presented. EPS is the most recently introduced power steering technology for vehicles, and it can improve driver’s convenience and fuel efficiency. In conformity with the design process specified in ISO 26262, the Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) of an EPS system is evaluated, and hardware and software are designed based on an asymmetric dual processing unit architecture and an external watchdog. The developed EPS system effectively demonstrates the fault detection and diagnostic functions of a functional safety compliant ECU as well as the basic EPS functions.

  • In this paper, development and performance characteristic of propulsion system(Converter/Inverter) using IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for 120km/h AC electric vehicle is proposed. The proposed propulsion system is comprised of IPM converter and inverter stack which uses natural air-cooling system, DC-Link, OVCRf unit and control unit. And also 2-Parallel operation of two PWM converter is adopted for increasing capacity of system and the VVVF inverter control is used a mixed control algorithm, where the vector control strategy at low speed region and slip-frequency control strategy at high speed region. The proposed propulsion system is verified by main line test results as well as combined test results.

  • 부산도시철도 추진장치를 종합 제어하는 Chopper Gate Control Unit는 다수의 전자 전기부품, PCB, 전원공급기, 게이트회로증폭기, 프레온가스냉각기, 보호회로 등으로 구성되어 있는 주요장치로서 일본 미씨비시에서 생산된 제품을 사용하고 있다. 최근에는 초퍼장치의 고장 및 시험기 에러가 자주 발생하여 원인분석 결과 Chopper Gate Control Unit內 LPF(Lower Pass Filter)의 장기사용(약25년)으로 인한 노후화와 성능저하가 주요 원인이었음을 밝혀내고 물품구매를 위해 제작사에 문의 하였으나 이미 생산이 중단된 제품으로 별도 주문 제작시에는 고가의 비용이 발생한다. LPF는 몰딩처리가 되어있는 부품으로 수선이 불가하여 자체기술력으로 연구 개발하여 현재 부산도시철도 1호선 전동차에 13set를 적용하여 운영하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 연산 증폭기(OP Amp)와 저항, 콘덴서 등의 조합으로 자체개발한 능동필터인 Active LPF의 특성분석, 회로해석 및 설계, 다기능분석기, 스펙트럼분석기, 오실로스코프 등을 이용한 파형특성과 PS Pice 시뮬레이션 시험결과 등 개발에 관한 연구내용을 다루었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 자동차용 전력변환 장치인 HDC(High side DC/DC Converter)와 MCU(Motor Control Unit)의 제어 전략과 설계 결과를 설명한다. MCU와 HDC가 차량용 부품임을 감안하여 그 설계의 관점을 출력밀도 향상과 신뢰성 확보에 두고 있다. 이를 위해 제어기로는 고성능의 MPC5554 CPU를 기반으로 설계하였고, 수동 소자인 인덕터와 커패시터도 효율 최적화의 관점에서 제작하였으며, 전력용 반도체로는 세미크론사의 자동차용 모듈인 Skim63을 사용하였다. 방열기관의 전산해석을 통해 최적의 방열모델을 선정하였고 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 타당성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 제어 전략과 각 부품의 성능은 실험벤치 및 실차 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 검증하였고 보완설계 과정을 통하여 신뢰성을 확보하였다.

  • Periodic safety review on Kori Unit 1 has been successfully done for the first time in Korea. 11 safety factors of the review were fully evaluated in accordance with the domestic legal system. Although it is the oldest nuclear power plant in Korea, Kori Unit 1 was found to have maintained good operating conditions and continuously enhanced its safety by implementing post-TMI action plans and other safety issues, such as replacing steam generators and process/control system. It can be therefore confirmed that safe operation of Kori Unit 1 is guaranteed until next periodic safety review. Nevertheless, some corrective action items were recommended to enhance further its safety level, such as equipment qualification, additional ageing management program, strengthening of some procedures related to administration and human factor. The results of PSR can be utilized for the continued operation beyond the design life as long as the plant safety is maintained and improved. Experiences of the PSR on Kori Unit 1 can be also applied to PSR on other plants.

  • 현재 운용되고 있는 전기기관차(8200호대) 전장품의 부분적 국산화를 위해서는 전기기관차내의 장치간 MVB 통신프로토콜에 대한 분석이 우선 진행되어야 한다. 그 중에서도 신규 개발된 보조전원장치가 적용되었을 때 우려되는 사항인 고장발생 시 동작에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 분석된 통신프로토콜을 적용한 신규 개발 통신제어장치를 통해 신규 보조전원장치를 기존 전기기관차에 적용하였을 때 정상동작 뿐만 아니라 고장발생 시 동작에도 문제없이 작동하도록 고장코드에 대한 MVB 통신프로토콜을 분석하였다.
