  • In this paper, a method of designing a controller which ensures the synchronization between the transmission and the reception ends of chaotic secure communication systems with interval time-varying delays is proposed. To increase communication security, the transmitted message is encrypted with the techniques of N-shift cipher and public key. And to reduce the conservatism of the stabilization criterion for error dynamic system obtained from the transmitter and receiver, a new Lyapunov-functional and bounding technique are proposed. Through a numerical example, the effectiveness of the proposed method is shown in the chaotic secure communication system.

  • A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of mobile nodes communicating in an infrastructure-less environment without the aid of a central administrating authority. Such networks entail greater dependency on synergy amongst the nodes to execute fundamental network operations. The scarcity of resources makes it economically logical for nodes to misbehave to preserve their resources which makes secure routing difficult to achieve. To ensure secure routing a mechanism is required to discourage misbehavior and maintain the synergy in the network. The proposed scheme employs a partially distributed dynamic model at each node for enhancing the security of the network. Supplementary information regarding misbehavior in the network is partially distributed among the nodes during route establishment which is used as a cautionary measure to ensure secure routing. The proposed scheme contemplates the real world scenario where a node may exhibit different kinds of misbehavior at different times. Thus, it provides a dynamic decision making procedure to deal with nodes exhibiting varying misbehaviors in accordance to their severity. Simulations conducted to evaluate the performance of the model demonstrate its effectiveness in dealing with misbehaving nodes.

  • In this paper, a secure transmission scheme based on the artificial noise is proposed for D2D communications underlaying the full-duplex cellular network, and a secure power allocation scheme to maximize the overall secrecy rate of both the cellular user and D2D transmitter node is presented. Firstly, the full-duplex base station transmits the artificial noise to guarantee the secure communications when it receives signals of cellular uplinks. Under this secure framework, it is found that improving the transmission power of the cellular user or the D2D transmitter node will degrade the secrecy rate of the other, although will improve itself secrecy rate obviously. Hence, a secure power allocation scheme to maximize the overall secrecy rate is presented subject to the security requirement of the cellular user. However, the original power optimization problem is non-convex. To efficiently solve it, we recast the original problem into a convex program problem by utilizing the proper relaxation and the successive convex approximation algorithm. Simulation results evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • Cross-domain event information sharing is a topic of great interest in the area of event based network management. In this work we use data sets which represent actual attacks in the operational Internet. We analyze the data sets to understand the dynamics of the attacks and then go onto show the effectiveness of sharing incident related information to contain these attacks. We describe universal data acquisition system for event based management (UniDAS), a novel system for secure and automated cross-domain event information sharing. The system uses a generic, structured data format based on a standardized incident object description and exchange format (IODEF). IODEF is an XML-based extensible data format for security incident information exchange. We propose a simple and effective security model for IODEF and apply it to the secure and automated generic event information sharing system UniDAS. We present the system we have developed and evaluate its effectiveness.

  • With regard to the basic safety and health education in construction industry issued on January, 26, 2012 by Occupation Safety And Health Acts, this study conducted a survey with self-administered questions for workers in the construction field in order to comprehend the problems since introduction of basic safety and health education. By analyzing the effectiveness of the safety and health activities, this study sought to reduce the trials and errors as well as to secure the improvement toward the early settlement of the basic safety and health education in construction industry. As a result of the question investigation, the survey respondents in the field sites who finished the basic safety and health education showed positive attitudes toward the improvement of safety awareness and the prevention of accidents. They also needed constant implementation of the education. At the same time, the government should improve the education program with strong policies to secure the effectiveness of the basic safety and health education in construction industry.

  • Marketable permit system (MPS) is a economic incentive instrument that allows polluters to achieve static and dynamic efficiency, However, Korea's atmospheric regulations are primarily based upon command and control (CAC) system and partly upon economic incentive instruments, which fail to realize its relative effectiveness, Accordingly, an introduction of MPS has been recommended with the cost effectiveness analysis in numerous studies, The literature, however, did not consider the relationship between MPS and the existing regulations, which is a key factor for the successful introduction of MPS, This paper provides a set of principles to judge how the existing regulations are reconciled with the introduction of MPS, In addition, authors execute an empirical study to show MPS's cost effectiveness when regulators apply MPS in Ulsan area for the abatement of sulfur dioxide, The results suggest that the regulations such as fuel regulation should be excluded when implementing MPS, and a flexibility in legal and regulatory system is to be required in order to secure a successful implementation of MPS.

  • With the rapid of computer applications and digital communication networks, group based applications on the open network have been common tendency. The multicast infrastructure has played an important researching part in this application area. However the conventional solutions to achieve the secure and efficient structure don't satisfy all requirements. In this study, we classified and analyzed several existing multicast key management structure on the safety, the efficiency and the strengthen. Based on the analysis, we developed a new secure and efficient multicast key management structure. By comparing various aspects, that the number of communication and computation, of the new and the conventional methods, we were able to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • The critical speed above which the vehicle become unstable should be fundamentally verified in the development of new train. In case of high speed tilting train, which require both higher critical speed and higher curving speed, the critical speed should be more carefully treated because the both requirements are conflicting each other in the conventional train design. This research has been performed to estimate the linear and non-linear critical speed of 200km/h Korean Tilting Train which has been developing. The newly developed self-steering mechanism was attached to the tilting train to secure critical speed under the lower yaw stiffness which was inevitable to secure higher curving performance. The simulation to predict critical speed was done by commercial vehicle dynamic S/W. Full scale roller rig test was carried out for the validation of numerical results and effectiveness of self-steering mechanism.

  • The multignature system is a digital contract system which can process multi-party contracts electronically. In this paper, we analyzed various insecure elements involved in general multisignature contract systems and suggest requirements needed for making such systems secure. Based on our analysis, we propose a new secure multisignature method and apply it to the conventional electronic digital contract systems along with several other existing multisignature methods. The applicability and the effectiveness of the newly developed method are demonstrated by comparing how well the suggested security requirements are satisfied by each method.
