  • This study was conducted to develop and evaluate food safety training program for employees in foodservice operations. The developed CD-ROM was consisted of 5 parts: foodbome illness, personal hygiene, food handling in food production steps, HACCP system, and sanitary facilities. It has made slides for all contents, the animation and movie to raise interests and concentrations, and illustrations and pictures to understand. The evaluation checklists were developed 15 questionnaires including understanding(5), information(3), concentration(4), recommendation(2), and the most important factor(1) and measured by Likert 5-point scale. Fifty-four dietitians in Daegu and Gyeongbuk schools, hospitals, and industries foodservice operations responded to the surveys. The results are as follows; The most important part in the CD-ROM was personal hygiene(33.3%). The total mean was $3.95{\pm}0.41,\;3.91{\pm}0.46$ on understanding, $3.89{\pm}0.50$ on information, $3.87{\pm}0.55$ on concentration and $4.29{\pm}0.49$ on recommendation. The score was significantly higher in the recommendation part than others. Overall, as the developed CD-ROM has achieved fine score, a study on the effect of education needs to be followed. Moreover, consistent and organized education by developing a variety of sanitation education methods should be conducted.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop and examine the effects of a prenatal program on environmental health behavior using cartoon comics among Korean pregnant women. Methods: This study used a non-equivalent control group pre-test/post-test design. The program used cartoon comics to explore environmental health behaviors during pregnancy. The program consisted of the following four components: environmental toxicants during pregnancy, avoiding particulate matter during pregnancy, environmental toxicants during baby care, and making a healthy environment for children. In total, 35 pregnant women participated in the study: 18 in the experimental group and 17 in the control group. Data collection and program adaptation were conducted between November 3, 2020 and January 19, 2021. The effect of the prenatal education program was evaluated by t-test and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: Learning experience (t = - 2.35, p = .025), feasibility (t = - 2.46, p = .019), satisfaction (t = - 2.23, p = .032) were higher in the experimental group than in the control group in the first post-test. Feasibility (t = - 2.40, p = .022) was higher in the experimental group than in the control group in the second post-test. Repeated-measures ANOVA showed significant interactions between time and group in environmental susceptibility (F = 9.31, p < .001), self-efficacy (F = 3.60, p = .033), and community behavior (F = 5.41, p = .007). Conclusion: This study demonstrates the need for a prenatal education program to promote environmental health perceptions and behavior during pregnancy. We suggest a prenatal class adopting the creative cartoon comics to promote the maternal environmental health behaviors.

  • So far, previous works with respect to evaluating program contents have concentrated on the implementation of general educational content evaluation. In terms of the efforts required to solve problems, however, there are a few evaluation methods on educational programming language contents. Therefore, we propose new evaluation criteria for educational programming language contents. The detailed research contents can be summarized as follows. First, we analyze existing works and propose naval evaluation criteria for educational programming language contents. Second, the new evaluation criteria is verified by teachers who use Visual Basic educational contents via questionaries. Also, a program content is experimented via the evaluation criteria. Finally, it is expected that our proposed evaluation criteria for educational programming language contents can be used to evaluate newly developed educational programming language contents and to design its evaluation plans.

  • Purpose: To identify the effects on tuberculosis mortality of a tuberculosis control program conducted at 108 community health centers in terms of structure and process. Methods: The dependent variable was tuberculosis mortality, and the independent variables were the structure(type of centers, staff, nurses, doctors, budget) and process(chest X-ray checking, immunization, case detection, health education, patients registering & managing) of the tuberculosis control programs at the community health centers. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and stepwise regression analysis. Result: Tuberculosis morality was positively correlated with type of centers(rural area)(p<0.01), but negatively correlated with type of centers(large cities) (p<0.01), (middle cities)(p<0.05), staff FTE(p<0.05), and number of nurses(p<0.05). Regression analysis indicated that type of centers(rural area)($\beta$=0.457) and case detection($\beta$=0.234) had a significant effect on tuberculosis mortality. Conclusion: Ultimately, this study will provide information to improve the effectiveness of tuberculosis control programs in community health centers.

The questionnaire was developed by researchers and was applied two times just at the preeducation and two weeks after the education. The criteria of the developed questionnaire was consisted of two aspects, one was recognizant aspect of service and the other was behavioral aspect of service. The reliability of the questionnaire was Chronbach's $\alpha$=0.778. The questionnaire was exammed collected in the morning when the education of the service was started and two weeks after the education. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, paired T-test, Pearson's correlations. The result of the study are as follows : 1. There was a significant difference in the aspect of recognition of service between pre and post self-evaluation. 2. There was no significant difference in the aspect of behavior service between pre and post self-evaluation. 3. There was a significant difference in the aspect of total sense, score between pre & post self-evaluation. 4. There was a significant correlation between clinical experience and aspect of recognition of service. The positive correlation was shown in the longer clinical experience between nurse's role and service. But there was not a statistically significant correlation between clinical experience and aspect of behavior of service. Through the result it can be concluded that the education of service was needed to improve image of nursing as a practical and basic factor for the nurses, even though the education was not directly related to the nures's professional knowledge and skills.

A total of 30 elderly (14 males, 16 females) aged 62~89 years participated in this study. Nutrition education lessons (2 hour/lesson/week) were provided for 4 weeks. Also, ten weeks from week 3rd to week 12th, personalized lunch providing 1/3 personal needed energy was served 5 times for a week. After the nutrition intervention program, we compared anthropometric characteristics, blood biochemical characteristics, nutrition knowledge, dietary attitude and dietary intake using 24 hr recall with those before the intervention. The body weight (p < 0.001) and body mass index (BMI) (p < 0.001) were decreased. There were significant increases in score of nutrition knowledge (p < 0.01) and consumption of milk & milk products for snacks. There was a positive effect on fasting blood sugar (FBS) showing significant decreases in portion of impaired fasting glucose and diabetes mellitus (p < 0.05). Also, serum triglyceride (TG) was significantly decreased (p < 0.05). In evaluation of nutrient intake by Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs), riboflavin (p < 0.01), vitamin C (p < 0.001), calcium (p < 0.05) were positively improved. The index of nutritional quality (INQ) and intakes of vitamin C (p < 0.001), riboflavin (p < 0.05), Ca (p < 0.01) and Fe (p < 0.05) were increased. In conclusion, this nutrition education and lunch service program providing 1/3 personal needed energy can be used to develop and implement a tailored nutritional intervention programs in the setting of a community senior welfare center to improve health and nutritional status of Korean elderly.

  • This study aimed to analyze the effect of New University for Regional Innovation in terms of the users. The evaluation indicators based on the reports of NURI port logistics education project from 2005 to 2009 are overall satisfaction, detailed satisfaction, comparative advantage for from the other universities, continuous employment intention, necessity of re-education, and priority of educational needs and so on. And the percentage of employment was chosen from 2006 to 2009 for the more objective analysis. Analysis shows that the effect of the program is founded because the satisfaction increased gradually and the comparative advantage for from the other universities was higher and the necessity of re-education declined less and less. Especially the program filled the foreign language demands. But it needs to reinforce the links between schools and industries. And also the percentage of employment for the participated departments has continuously increased compared with that for non-participated departments, it shows that the effects of NURI project.
