  • The present study was carried out to elucidate the potential of, chloroform extract of Pandanus (P.) fascicularis Lamk (Family-Pandanaceae) leaves on antinociceptive, behavioral study and anti-inflammatory effects using various animal models The dried, powdered leaves of, P. fascicularis were extracted successively with petroleum ether ($60\;-\;80^{\circ}C$) and chloroform in soxhlet apparatus. The chloroform extract (yield 21.6% w/w with respected to dry powdered plant material) was selected for all experimental procedure. Two models were employed to investigate the effects on nociception, the tail immersion and hot plate method in Swiss albino mice and anti inflammatory effect were investigated by employing the carrageenan induced rat paw edema test in. adult Wister albino rats. Behavioral study was investigated by elevated plus maze method in Swiss albino mice. Results were revealed that the PFCE was found significant antinociceptive effect (P < 0.001) at the dose levels of 100, 200 and 400 mg/kg, orally in mice and produced remarkable antiinflammatory effect (P < 0.001) at the same dose levels used in the rats. Behavioral study of the PFCE has no significant anxiolysis effect when used orally. It concludes that, PFCE possessed remarkable antinociceptive effect and anti-inflammatory effect but no anxiolytic effect on animal models.

  • The interactive advertisement is already on satellite and cable broadcasting hereafter the introduction of this system is concerned on terrestrial programs. This study is to research the effectiveness of interactive TV advertising focusing on factors of involvement and interaction. Study started for the effect measurement of interactive television advertisement. Interactive television advertisement has different concept than existing television advertisement. Thus, the effect also needs to examine in other methods. Study is mainly focusing on the characteristics of interactive and the experiments, which was based on existing data, for measurement of effect. In the experiments, the characteristics were categorized in a search time, a number of searched pages about interactive television advertisement. The research finds that the involvement of the audience increases when the interaction of advertising attitude, brand attitude, and purchase intentions also increases. And so, a successful interactive TV advertisement results in longer searching hours and greater it visits by the audience when the interaction factors are considered and increased. By study of consumer's characteristics and behavior, a new method of the effect measurement for interactive television advertisement is provided. The new method includes not only existing measurement elements of television advertisement which are attitude on advertising and brand, and customers' purpose, but also the features of interactive television advertisement, which are search time, a number of searched pages. Recently added features provides data of the effect on high/low groups and it contributes to the process of interactive television advertisement. Study on interactive television advertisement will be helpful to plan an effective strategy by suggesting the theoretical evidence of its effect.

In the first part, the study includes a brief introduction focused on the impact of capital adequacy and operating efficiency on the performance of banks. In the second part, a literature review examined various studies on the impact of capital adequacy and operating efficiency on banks' performance. The study methodology was presented in the third part, based on a sample that included all local Saudi banks from 2010 to 2021, using a study model to answer the study hypotheses. The results of the panel data regression indicated that CAR had a negative and significant effect on ROA and ROE but a negative and non-significant effect on NIM. CIR has a negative and significant effect on ROA, ROE, and NIM, while SIZE, LTD, and MS have a positive and significant effect on ROA, ROE, and NIM. Elimination of defects has no significant effect on return on assets, return on equity, and the NIF. But CR has no significant effect on ROA and ROE but has a positive and significant effect on NIM.

Permanent personnel of a PGU unit power plant in Sumatra, Indonesia, made up the population and sample. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling of 129 employees. The research model and hypotheses were tested using multiple regression analysis. This study indicate that job placement has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. Simultaneously, job placement does not have a significant positive effect on organizational commitment. Secondly, job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment and finally, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between job placement and organizational commitment. The results of this study indicate that job placement has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. Therefore, the right job placement will lead to employee job satisfaction. Another finding is that job placement has a positive and insignificant effect on organizational commitment. Furthermore, job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment. The results of this study indicate that the higher the job satisfaction of the PGU unit employees in the Sumatra area, the higher the level of employee organizational commitment will be.

In this process, this review surveyed all papers used Sagunjatang and Samultang in PubMed database and finally 36 papers were included. The publication year, the nations of authors, the type of materials, the formation of experiments, the type of herbal medicine, and their action and mechanisms were analyzed. The number of studies on Sagjunjatang and Samultang has increased since 1990's. The main formation of experiments was in vivo study and the portion was 55%. The proportion of the research using prescriptions was 71%. Sagunjatang was investigated in the field of GI track function, anticancer effect, radioprotective effect and etc. Samultang was studied in the field of anticancer effect, brain cognitive function, anti-inflammatory effect, cell protective effect, and etc. Based on these results, Sagunjatang and Samultang showed the different bioactivities. This study will provide the useful information on differentiation and analysis of the effect of herbal prescriptions by the theory of Korean traditional medicine.

  • Recent developments in financial market liberalization and information technology are accelerating the interdependence of national stock markets. This study explores the information spillover effect of the US stock market on the overnight and daytime returns of the Korean stock market. We develop a profitable intra-day trading strategy based on the information spillover effect. Our study provides several important conclusions. First, an information spillover effect still exists from the overnight US stock market to the current Korean stock market. Second, Korean investors overreact to both good and bad news overnight from the US. Therefore, there are significant price reversals in the KOSPI 200 index futures prices from market open to market close. Third, the overreaction effect is different between weekdays and weekends. Finally, the suggested intra-day trading system based on the documented overreaction hypothesis is profitable.

  • The purpose of the present study was to test the impact of depression on mobile phone dependency among elementary school students, to test the mediating effect of self-esteem between depression and mobile phone dependency, and to draw out theoretical and practical implications in terms of preventing or reducing mobile phone dependency. Based on previous studies, a longitudinal research model between the aforementioned three variables has been identified. The present study analyzed the 4th, 5th, and 6th wave data from Korea Children and Youth Panel Study 2010 (KCYPS 2010). The major results were as follows. First, depression could have a significant negative effect on self-esteem. Second, self-esteem could have a significant negative effect on mobile phone dependency. Third, the influence of depression on mobile phone dependency was not significant. Fourth, gender could be a significant moderating variable between depression and self-esteem. Finally, a number of implications of these findings were also discussed.
