School appropriate scale refers to the size of the school to minimize students' educational deficits and ensure an appropriate level of students, the number of classes, class size, etc., and maximize educational effects. Difficult set of absolute standards appropriate scale school, contemporary social situations and educational effects, and seek a comprehensive and reasonable direction, considering this is required. School appropriate scale it is preferable to consider the effect of conditions in areas such as education, curriculum, but it is common to set the range in terms of school operational effectiveness, and efficiency of education funding, school environment. The purpose of this study is to propose a framework to analyse the educational effects and outcome of the boarding middle school established following the merger and abolition of small schools in rural area. According to the decrease in birth rate and reduction of population in rural area, primary schools have brought about many problems for decrease of number of student, and environment of education have became deteriorated. Accordingly, primary schools be required improvement, and it should be altered placement of schools because it change number of student, distance and time of attending school, and formation of school zone are changed by alternating of human and physical environment. Merger and abolition of primary school is inevitable for change of placement standard to primary school and qualitative improvement of environment of education in rural area. This study suggests 1)educational effects and outcome, 2)changes and benefits of student's living conditions, 3)social effects to local community, and 4)economical efficiency analysis as a new framework to evaluate the validity of establishing a school. It sets up a hypothesis that the students, parents and community satisfy the boarding school in rural area, a school record be improved and the abolition of schools have little effect on community. Finally, it emphasizes that in order to success the policy of the merger of small schools and the boarding middle school, it be attributed to the social-cultural environment based on local residents and community and required provision of a variety of utilization plans reflecting local specifics and guarantee of local residents' participation and selection.

This study aims to suggest a Biophilic classroom design of high school to obtain attention restoration for students. The learning space for youth in the modern society is composed of dry artificial structures. This space is considered to be a space that can not relieve stress caused by learning. "The Attention Restoration Theory" is divided into "Directed Attention" of humans, which is the cause of fatigue and stress, and "Involuntary Attention" as a solution to it. "Involuntary Attention" takes place in a rest state and helps the brain recover when exposed to nature. And the core of "Biophilic-Design Theory" is that humans can recover physical and mental conditions when exposed to nature. The purpose of this study is to apply "The Biophilic-Design Theory" that emphasizes the importance of exposure to nature to the educational space and plan the space where the 'Attention Restoration' can be achieved. The research method is as follows. First, we review previous studies related to "The Biophilic-Design Theory" and "The Attention Restoration Theory". Second, we analyze the application examples of "The Biophilic-Design Theory" and "The Attention Restoration Theory" in domestic and foreign educational spaces. Third, the concept of educational space is set up based on the elements derived from previous studies. Finally, we propose the planning direction of classroom design based on Biophilic-Design. The following conclusions were drawn. First, The creation of the education space to restore the learner's attention requires a visual space plan that utilizes natural elements such as natural light, artificial light, plants, and natural materials that can directly experience nature. Second, the direction in which students in the classroom can be "The Attention Restoration Theory" should consider the use of indirect natural elements that bring the surrounding natural landscape into the interior. This study will be used as the baseline data for the spatial design and planning of education facilities based on Biophilic-Design.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions, satisfaction towards, and effects of children's cooking activity programs held at children's cooking schools, which have recently been gaining interest as an effective integrated educational method. Also, based on the results, the study provides information on good teaching-learning methods, which can be applied to kindergarten and elementary schools. The results of the evaluation showed that 84.1% of the respondents were satisfied with the educational aspects of the programs. People were most satisfied with the teachers' "teaching ability", and were least satisfied with "the educational fees". The satisfaction scores for the children's cooking programs were higher when they were performed in a school class environment as compared to a cultural center environment, and children who had participated for more than 12 months were more satisfied than those who had only participated 1 to 3 months. Quantitatively, of the 24 measured evaluation categories grouped into 6 fields that measured the effects of participation in the cooking programs, the greatest effects were found on the children's self-confidence and sense of achievement in the social emotion field, and the lowest effect was found on their writing ability in the language field. In addition, scores were higher when the cooking activities were performed in a private cooking school environment as compared to a cultural center environment. The goal of this study is to examine the status quo of industrial-educational cooperation in Technical high schools. Based upon the findings of the current conditions, this study ultimately aims to propose methods through which more active industrial-educational cooperation can be stimulated. The methods chosen for this study are reference research and surveys. The survey was conducted by imposing complete enumeration on the targeted high schools that specialize in industry related fields. The survey targets were the directions of academic affairs, the directions of practical affairs, and the directors of the educational curriculum of each school. The research results are as follows: First, the teachers recognize the necessities of having opportunities to gain specific skills in different industrial fields, having chances to get stable employment, and securing the industrial institution's competitiveness through the customized nurturing and supply of human resources as the primary goals of industrial-educational cooperation. Second, the teachers express the similar opinion that industrial-educational cooperation in their current system is inappropriate to achieve their goals. Third, the teachers claim that an educational curriculum that emphasizes industrial educational cooperation must be developed and managed. Fourth, it was found that when schools plan their educational curriculum, they often do not implement the requests from industrial institutions. Fifth, major educational program implement methods that meet the requests of the industrial institutions include field trips or the introduction of other field-based experience learning programs, the application of customized curriculums based on industrial-educational cooperation, and the invitation of industrial-educational personnel as teachers to school environments. Sixth, it was concluded that educational institutions need to proactively seek companies for cooperation; they need to support, develop, and manage school programs that are based on industrial-educational cooperation; and finally, institutions need to enthusiastically participate in the government's vocational education policies that are founded upon industrial-educational cooperation. Seventh, the enforcement of selective curriculum for the benefit of diversifying the educational program; the pursuit of balancing the specialized curriculum through shedding the national educational level provided within the regular curriculum; and the establishment of related amendments on the national level to provide effective industrial-educational cooperation have been identified as the vital factors that can develop the educational programs within high schools specializing in industry and that are closely related to industrial educational cooperation.

In order to solve the current shortage of parking spaces, and redesign the main gate area of the U University, the research investigated some cases of other schools located in Seoul which actively constructed multi-purpose building structures. Those schools are considered to be good samples showing their efforts to fulfill the needs of more parking spaces in their campuses, and to cover with the growing needs of multi-functioned facilities accommodating services of academic affairs, reading room spaces, and amenities. With the investigation, the research finded out the current trends of campus developments from the sample schools, such as underground parking facilities connected with multi-purpose buildings along the main arteries of campuses. Following the trends the research thoroughly examined the present conditions of our school and tried to make some possible alternatives for the facilities. Under the conditions, the research suggested 1)to construct underground parking lots accepting around 1,000 cars under the ivory tower square located in front of University Administration Building, 2)to develop a big-scaled open square at the university main gate, and 3)to build a multi-purpose structure along the main street of the campus, which included administration services, studying spaces, and some commercial facilities.

It is high level of management activity for the fixed property of building to operating spaces for education in university campus. Therefore, this study is focused on definition of the factors for analyzing the actual conditions of space operation and application of them to C university campus in Gyeongbuk in the aspect of infrastructure of university and efficiency of space operation. These analytical factors are the rate of lecture and experimentation room, the rate of theoretical and experimental subject in curriculum and unit area for infrastructure and the rate of use, turnover rate and occupation rate per lecture for space operation. If the analytical factors of space operation are systemized as program module for space operation, the space management system of university campus will be characterized on the foundation of university information system. And it will be able to support the decision making about space management. It needs to integrate various type of information and data of university to increase the efficiency of decision making.
