The data were analysed by the SAS package using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows; 1. In mean score of internal marketing factors in nursing organization, horizontal communication was 3.42, downward communication 3.32, involvement communication 3.08, upward communication 3.00, education training 2.54, welfare 2.51. The meas score of organizational commitment was 3.00. 2. Organizational commitment was positively correlated with upward communication(r=0.48, p=0.0001), education training(r=0.42, p=0.0001), horizontal communication(r=0.36, p=0.0001), welfare(r=0.34, p=0.0001), involvement communication(r=0.25, p=0.0001) of internal marketing factors in nursing organization, but was negatively correlated with downward communication(r=-0.20, p=0.0014). 3. The major internal marketing factors which influence organizational commitment was upward communication. Upward communication explained 23% of organizational commitment. This study aimed to help build a quality control program to improve cardiac arrest treatment via analysis of medical records in a local tertiary general hospital to evaluate factors that influence clinical outcomes of in-hospital cardiac arrest. At first, the medical records of in-hospital cardiac arrest were analyzed, and targeted surveys about functional and structural factors associated with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) were conducted amongst the workforce in charge of cardiac arrest treatment. From January 2012 through June 2013, a total of 486 adult cases of in-hospital cardiac arrests, except for those occurring in the emergency room, were enrolled in this study. Among the patients, those of recovery of spontaneous circulation were 57.8%; 13.8% of patients were discharged alive; 8.9% of patients were discharged without significant neurologic sequela. Despite CPR is usually successful when administered as quickly as possible, in this analysis showed that prompt reaction after initial recognition was significantly lower in nurses compared with doctors. Analysis of survey results showed that confidence in performing CPR was significantly associated with the experience of CPR in doctors, while in nurses educational experience showed a correlation. In order to improve quality of in-hospital CPR system maintaining and increasing confidence of CPR performance is the most important factor. Therefore it can be helpful to develop and apply a phased, customized education program using training simulators as well as personalizing them to increase the personnel's confidence in CPR performance.

The aims of the study to investigate the relationship between awareness, empowerment and performance of healthcare associated infections (HAIs) control and to identify factors influencing performance of HAIs among general hospital nurses. Data were collected from 230 nurses in two general hospitals in B city, with the questionnaire of an empowerment, awareness and performance of infection control tool. The data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regressions. The performance of infection control was significantly correlated with empowerment and awareness of infection control. The empowerment had a positive correlation with an awareness of infection control (r= .233, p <.001) respectively. The infection control performance was influenced by infection control awareness, empowerment and number of annual job training, which explained 42.2% of the performance of infection control. Infection management performance of general hospitals nurses is affected not only by infection awareness but also by empowerment and job education. Therefore, it suggests that HAIs management program could develop for the nurses and provide empowerment with job training to improve the management and performance of HAIs, also to reinforce via constant support by the hospital.
Purpose: This study aimed at the effectiveness to investigate the performance of evidence-based pain assessment and management guidelines. Methods: Participants were 140 nurses at the med-surgical units. Data were collected in early July, 2014 using Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) guideline (2007) revised and validated by Hong and Lee (2012) and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA using SPSS/WIN18.0. Results: The score of performance of pain assessment guideline was higher than the score of pain management. Categories with high score were pain screening, parameter of pain assessment, documentation, assessment of opioids side-effects, and record of pain caused intervention. Categories with low score were comprehensive pain assessment, multidisciplinary communication, establishing a plan for pain management, consultation and education for patients and their families, and education for nurse. Non-pharmacological management was the lowest one. Conclusion: Assessing and managing pain is a complex phenomenon. It might be useful if institutions host training programs to ensure that nurse are better able to understand and implement pain assessment and management. Since non-pharmacological management is less likely to be used by nurses it may be helpful to include these methods in a training program.
The twenty-first century may be said to be entering into a specialized qualification age to meet the needs of new technical innovations such as environmental changes, demographical changes, changes in the constitution of diseases, changes in the needs of the national health, reforms of information and knowledge, etc., which requires the provision of competitive services that can fulfill the high level needs of consumers. In consequence, it is needed to apply a practical nursing model that can serve as a guide for healthy society and to secure the sphere that can affect nursing policy-making by keeping pace with the changing environment. Furthermore, it is also urgent to expand more the activity sphere of nurse specialists with authority and autonomy, establish their legal foundation, establish a qualification accreditation system for nurse specialists, and develop educational programs. In Korea, the law relative to organ transplant past the national assembly on February 9, 2000, legally acknowledged brain death, which indicated to us the emergence of an age of organ transplant. Therefore, it necessitates to find out those of brain death from whom organ transplant is feasible in clinical practices, with their families' consent link to those terminal organ failure patients who are in need of an organ, and mediate both parties so that smooth transplant can be accomplished. A series of these complicated procedures require systematically trained specialists with high level techniques of organic management. With this in mind, this study was conducted on 69 clinical nurse specialists for organ transplant, accredited by the hospital, who are in active service in clinical practices. The resultant findings were revealed, as follows: 1. The qualifications of clinical nurse specialists for organ transplant should be accredited by Ministry of Health and Welfare or Korea Nurses Association. 2. The validity of qualifications should be for three years, and their renewal should be based on marks of a supplemental training or an education course for more than 12 hours a year. 3. The qualification of the clinical nurse specialist necessitates theoretical lectures and practices on those nurses who have had clinical experience in the pertinent field. 4. The course of training is required to be one year in the length of training and take more than 20 credits (320 hours) and 5 credits (240 hours).
