A Study on Applying Design Thinking to Serious Game for Sexual violence prevention (디자인씽킹을 적용한 성폭력예방 기능성 게임)

  • This study was conducted with preliminary to develop the game contents for designing of sexual violence prevention serious game for school teachers. It is proposed to use of sexual violence prevention serious game with the analysis of the audience and a new approach. For this purpose, Gordon method and Service Blueprint method were applied in design thinking. The results from analyzing the audiences were to reflect the components of corresponding with the goal of the serious game, and interest and motivation for continuing education. Also, it was proposed to give the certificate of education participation to teachers attended in the serious game in-service education.

Research on Understanding of Game Information for the Elderly (중.노년층의 컴퓨터 게임이용과 인식에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the elderly generation's understanding of game information and for recognition of computer based games as a recreation activity for the mid-to late adults. This study investigated game use and personal thoughts about the influences of computer games on each generation. The study was conducted by survey with the subjects being 242 adults aged 40 to 72 living in Busan and Kyung-nam area. Findings indicated that 43.5% of adults used computers to access games. The purposes for computer use were: business, searching portal sites, and games. 44.8% of adults knew about game information education. 67.4% of adults who had someone as a game information resource reported that their children provided the game information. Most adults used arcade games and recognized the influences of game information as positive to adults and the elderly but negative to children and adolescents. Finally, the adults aged "after mid-life" who knew about game information education showed higher ego-integrity and psychological well-being. These findings have implications for the development of elderly education programs aimed at promoting quality of life for older adults.

  • Education using smart mobile devices has become part of current children's art education activities. Today's release of pen-equipped mobile devices and smart tablet PC's allows users to painting and coloring with digital devices. Today, art content for children is downloaded and can be educated at any time as an application. However, coloring games that give children the effect of art education are extremely rare, and the content elements in the games are similar to all games and lack the ability to express themselves. The study recognizes the importance of developing coloring game content for children's art education that can help children's coloring activities and improve creativity and imagination, and focuses on the direction and elements of developing children's coloring game content using smart mobile devices that fit digital coloring functions.

  • Currently, people use game engines which is consist of essential elements(Graphic engine, Physics engine, Audio engine, UI system, Gameplay frameworks, etc) to develop video. This game engine is used for its own development, but usually it is used by renting a commercial engine. To be able to use such a game engine requires a lot of theoretical and functional education, but in a limited period of university education, it is impossible to deal with various game engines in game art colleges, not general engineering universities. This paper will compare and analyze the characteristics, and merits and demerits of these two kinds of Game engines (Unity and Unreal engine), and showed the result of analyses about the fact that educating which of the above 2 Game engines are helpful and beneficial for the students for the efficient education in the Art college where should teach much in the limited time.

  • Fun and happiness are the intrinsic values of the human beings. Game is one of the most efficient tools which satisfies those intrinsic values. Approaches and methods combining game and education to provide the enjoyable education environments have been increasing. As use of gamification in corporate and school education environments for human resources is increasing, significant voices of concern on the limitations and side effects of combining game and education are continuously increasing. The purpose of this paper is to energize the use of gamification in education environments by clarifying the limitations and side effects of gamification and seeking ways to overcome those factors. This paper summarizes an observational research on the limitations and side effects of gamification in education environments, and provides the interviewees' opinions on gamified classes.

  • In this study, an educational game named "Jumbini 2: Mountain Rescue Operation" is compared and analyzed as a case of highly effective educational as well as significant popular game. In order to develop effective game software for education, stories and structure elements of the game are examined. Significant results are found on aspects of value and effect as an educational game, analyzing based on goal, rule, competition, challenge, fantasy, safety and fun, which are general elements for educational games.

  • The world is changing fast from the information society to the knowledge society as the amount of knowledge exploded over through development of the information communication technology. Much efforts to use serious fames for students' learning is being made actively via international and domestic. It is expected that the results of this study would suggest how to utilize serious games in learning and training. The purpose of this study is to totally understanding of serious games that made to achieve educational goal based on specific character of game in which make flow, goal achievement, satisfaction.   • At present, educational serious games which are designed for educational purpose including funny element have been developed in korea. This paper proposes a history educational game and describes how to make history educational game using OGRE engine. The OGRE engine is public, and widely used in many universities. Methods of the proposed game's development include development environment, desired plan, game scenario, game interface, method to cooperate with physics engine and so on. The proposed game is played in performing a mission that is based on historical event of our country in itself. And discrimination of the proposed game is to set a quest with actual historical events, in order to learn history beyond the simple fun in the existing history educational games. This paper should be helpful to discrimination of history educational serious game and developers to create history educational serious game with OGRE engine.

Specially children need systematic education program specially cognition of accident. Serious game has entertain and education, and it can make game stage using storytelling about variable accident situation. Using serious gmae for preventing accident, it includes useful subjects such as safety education, prevent strategies, crisis management, problem solving accomplishment.

  • This study is intended to design a rhythm game improving the student's capacity to learn and appreciate music. This game was tested in the music classes of an elementary school. The note patterns reflecting melody affected the perception of pitch, duration, and loudness of the music. This study also presented that the factor influencing students' immersion in music and learning music was the multi-sense of sight, hearing, and touch.
