This survey was conducted to study the mountain village residents' needs and awareness of eco-tourism. The survey included opinions about introducing Eco-tourism, Residents' willingness to join, types of policies to push forward, requirements to Korea Forest Service and expected outcomes. 346 residents were selected for this survey from 33 mountain eco-villages established by Korea Forest Service and 24 rural experience villages established by Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and they respectively participated in this survey through interview from June $17^{th}$ 2015 to September $17^{th}$ 2015. As a result of major analysis, the survey showed that 86.7% of residents were in favor of the introduction of mountain village eco-tourism and 78.3% of those questioned showed the willingness of their participation of the program. Also 42.2% of respondents reacted positively that Korea Forest Service, associated administration agency and local government should be cooperated when the policies are established. 60.4% of respondents said they expect installment of recreational facilities and 67.6% said they expect development of eco-tourism program, which were respectively the highest rate as the requirements to be supported when the eco-tourism program are introduced. 86.1% said that increasing visitors will help mountain villages more revitalized as eco-tourism is introduced. This research is expected to provide information when making the mountain eco-tourism policy in the future.
This study was carried out to investigate the recognition and requirements of mountain eco-tourism by surveying mountain villages'visitors. As a feasibility study to introduce new eco-tourism policies, the individual interview survey was conducted from June 17, 2015 to September 17, 2015 targeting 439 visitors in 57 mountain villages, where the Korea Forest Service designated them as mountain eco-villages and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has been operating the rural experience and recreation village business. As a result of the major analysis, the respondents'intention to participate in mountain eco-tourism was 3.65 by Likert 5-point-scale and the respondent's most preferred the number of visits was once a year(44.6%) or twice a year(30.1%). Also, the most preferred region was Gangwon-do(44.8%) and the average amount of expense willing to pay was 153,320 won. Lastly, the respondents said they expect development of regional tourism product(M=3.99) and mountain eco-tourism program(M=3.96) by requirements for mountain eco-tourism. This result shows that it is necessary to inspire public awareness regarding the value of mountain eco-tourism and to develop new policies or programs making people more attracted to mountain villages. Thus, it means that mountain eco-tourism can be utilized as a way to steer sustainable mountain village.

This study examined the environmental consciousness and behaviors of University students for the Eco-campus and assessed the impact of environmental consciousness and behavior on the eco-tourism participation intention. Students of Eco-Campus Silla University in Busan were evaluated using purposive sampling. The data was analyzed using the SPSS program. The results of this study showed that they had an interest in environmental problems. In addition, the environmental consciousness and behavior factors affected the eco-tourism participation intention. These results suggest that more reinforced and improved environmental education should be offered by universities to reveal the importance of the environment.

Koh Chang Island is located near the east border of Thailand. The government of Thailand promotes the island as a model of eco-tourism spots. The Island undeveloped until recent years, is expected to change to major tourist attraction. 'Digital Koh Chang project' has thus. The main objective of this project is to monitor the environment and land use status of the island and to support its sound development. In March 2003, a field survey of this project was planned and field data were collected using both airborne and ground platforms and an ocean vessel. These data were combined with satellite data in the laboratory. This presentation is all balloon-born system field operation. A 5-meter length balloon filled with Helium gas was used, whose payload consisted of two RGB standard color digital still cameras, two directional rotating servo motors, a camera mount cradle as well as signal transmitting and receiving components. A series of aerial high-resolution digital images were rather easily obtained using this inexpensive system, making it possible to monitor intended landscape features in a specific field. Design of simple, low-cost and easily transportable flying platforms and local field surveys using them are useful for getting local ground truth data to calibrate satellite or airborne-based RS data. The design analysis to upgrade the system is further investigated.

The city of Siheung in the Kyunggi-do Province has various natural resources such as the ocean, mountains, wide farmland, various types of wetlands, streams and rivers. In addition, the city has a big greenbelt, which consists of two-thirds of the area, where development has been regulated. Since the city has a relatively well-preserved natural environment, it offers a great potential for regional development. The purpose of this study is to create an eco-tourism resource plan for the Mulwang reservoir, which offers many opportunities for ecotourism in the city of Siheung. This study includes a literature review for planning elements and suggests a comprehensive plan that includes conservation, eco-restoration, route program and practice program for ecotourism in and around the site. The plan also includes eco-farming, a visitor center, an ecovillage, the chance to experience livestock farming, opportunities to learn about and experience the forest, tracking, eco-learning, an environmental interpretation facility, fishing and aquatic-oriented leisure activities. This study's process and results show possibilities that can be applied to other areas where eco-tourism using natural resources is used for regional development.
Purpose - The purpose of this study was to conduct a preliminary study to identify key trends on research articles indexed in KCI in relation to tourism in Jeju and sports tourism. Design/methodology/approach - Information regarding research articles focused on Jeju tourism and sports tourism indexed in KCI (145 and 120 articles respectively) were collected and finally abstract written in Korean of 100 and 91 articles on sports tourism and Jeju tourism respectively were chosen for the further analysis after removing redundant articles. R program was used to analyze keyword frequencies, co-occurring terms, and degree/betweeness centrality measures and visualize the keyword network results. Findings - Event, marketing, content, program, implication, service, stadium, and tourism destination have been identified as keywords with highest frequencies among research on sport tourism, whereas tourism destination, image, brand, content, data, Chinese, satisfaction, eco-tourism service, place of arrival were highly appearing terms among research on Jeju tourism. Research implications or Originality - This study highlighted that Jeju has been interlinked with a range of terms such as programs influencing Jeju tourism, natural environment, tourism-related resources (e.g., museums, dramas, etc.), whereas sports has been closely related to sports event and vaiours types of sports (e.g., bicycle, staking, and scuber), but not to Jeju-do.

Factors for promoting the resident participation in mountain villages are suggested to introduce the activity-oriented program of green tourism using a multinomial logit model(MNLM). Direct surveying, using a structured questionnaire was performed on local residents in the different types of rural tourism villages such as mountain villages, agricultural themed villages, and the mixed types of villages. The MNLM revealed that participation intention in the program was significantly higher for males, those with lower education, and residents in mountain villages. The participation intention of the program had a negative relationship with the increase of expected problems not from the program itself, but from the results of the program such as income distribution and nature destruction. Participation intention also increased with the indirect effects of an investment by the Village Development Project, such as local cooperativeness, public mind, etc. It was suggested that to introduce the activity-oriented program in mountain villages, negative effects from the results had to be minimized, and positive effects from the indirect changes between local residents had to be maximized through better communication and policy endeavors.
With the development of the information and communication technology, tourism items or products based on new technology is created or developed for tourists. This study examines tourist's satisfaction about VR program, "Secret Wind Forest", which is the story of Gotjawal, one of famous Jeju eco-tourism attraction. In order to achieve the study goal, it identified a study model from the previous studies. It collected data using survey from visitors who used VR program. The total of 227 questionnaires was utilized for data analysis. Based on the study model, it accepted five hypotheses (H1~H5), which are as follows. Firstly, individual innovativeness has a significant effect on perceived usefulness. Secondly, individual innovativeness influenced perceived usefulness, and perceived usefulness and ease influenced usage satisfaction. These results have both theoretical and practical contribution in terms of the development to tourist products using VR program. Academics can provide basic theories such as tourism activities, behaviors, and attitudes to tourism consumer-related studies on VR tourism program in terms of content application. Practically, it can help tourist marketers who want to use VR tourism program and content developers who use VR devices to construct VR program stories using tourism resources and to plan and execute contents considering the target market.

As a basic element of Jeju landscape, Oreum offers a beautiful and aesthetic view. Considering topographical and geological research achievements, however, an effort to discover implicit value in terms of landscape characteristics and value has been ignored. This paper has investigated the characteristics and value of landscape by Oreum focusing on Jeju landscape characteristics and eco-touristic value and discussed a scheme to maximize the values. Under a theme of 'Sustainable Development' of the RIO Declaration, tour industry has recently changed its focus from eco-tourism to gee-tourism. Fortunately, Jeju Oreum has very distinctive and unique landscape with depressed crater at a crest. Nevertheless, it's very difficult to see a true aspect of Oreum from the street or over the car window. Therefore, it's urgent to begin a research on how to make advantage of and preserve Oreum landscape in order to maximize its landscape values and improve its potential as a tourist attraction. Through diverse programs such as sky leisure sports(ex: light airplane and helicopter riding, paragliding), sky watching, and mountain hiking, in particular, a possibility that Oreum can succeed as LBD(Learning by Doing)-based tour program with volcanic features needs to be examined. Besides, it's also a good idea to develop Oreum tour program or Oreum Museum as an alternative plan. Above all, however, it's most urgent to protect the existing Oreum and restore ecological and landscape beauty of Oreum through proper land use.
