A method of considering the fluid induced external force in structural dynamic analysis is presented in this study. The fluid induced pressure distribution around a structure in discrete number of orientation. and velocity is calculated by using a CFD code and tabulated as resultant forces and moments in a database. These forces and moments are interpolated and employed as external forces during the dynamic analysis of structure. The reliability and usefulness of the present method is validated by using a simple discrete system example through transient analysis. The flutter speed is obtained and compared to the analytical solution. Comparing to the method in which structural dynamic and fluid flow analyses are performed simultaneously, the present method is very efficient to save computational effort.
Structures with soft story irregularity have been seriously damaged in earthquakes. Therefore, the analysis of dynamic behavior of structures with soft story irregularity is of great value and relevance. In this study, a certain method will be used to discover the displacements and internal forces and to find out results about soft story irregularity. For this study, the multi-story frame-hinged shear wall system has been used as a model according to the continuous calculation system. The dynamic characteristics of the system have been obtained by analyzing the governing differential equation of the system. The dynamic characteristics have been calculated for a practical and quick analysis as indicated in tables. The suggested method is wholly based on manual calculation. A spectral analysis can be easily conducted with the help of Tables provided by this study. A sample has been solved and compared to the finite elements method to study the suitability of the method suggested at the end of this study.
Dynamic compaction is the ground improvement method by applying the impact energy. This impact energy can damage to adjacent structure in urban area. Therefore, if dynamic compaction method is applied, careful attention should be payed to surrounded structures. In this study, the method was performed in waste landfill and the frequency of vibrations were measured according to each distances, drop-heights, and vibrating directions. The measured data show that particle velocity bas low frequency and it is greatest in longitudinal direction. There was little differences between Maynes suggestion and measured data. Therefore, Maynes suggestion can be adopted if the range of vibration can be predicted. Also, It was found that minimum 45m distance is needed in order to satisfy the administrative code if dynamic compaction method is applied.
This paper presents the method for structure borne noise analysis of a flexible body in multibody system. The proposed method is the superposition method using flexible muitibody dynamic analysis and finite element one. This method is executed in 3 steps. In the la step, time dependent quantities such as dynamic loads, modal coordinates ana gross body motion of the flexible body are calculated efficiently through flexible multibody dynamic analysis. And frequency response functions are computed using Fourier transforms of those time dependent quantities. In the 2$\^$nd/ step, acoustic pressure coefficients are obtained through structure-acoustic coupling analysis by finite element analysis. In the final step, frequency responses of acoustic pressure at the acoustic nodes are recovered through linear superposition of frequency response functions with acoustic pressure coefficients. The accuracy of the proposed method is verified in the numerical example of a simple car model.
In this study, an algorithm analyzing dynamic mutiple-crack propagation problem by Meshfree Method is proposed. A short description of Meshfree Method especially, Element-free Galerkin (EFG) method is presented and the elastodynamic fracture theory is summarized. A numerical implementation algorithm for dynamic analysis by Meshfree Method is discussed and an algorithm for mutlple-crack dynamic propagation is also presented. A couple of numerical examples of dynamic crack propagation problem illustrate the performance of the proposed technique. The accuracy of the algorithm is studied in the first example by being compared with experimental results, and the applicability and efficiency of the developed algorithm is studied in the second example.
To improve the modeling accuracy for the finite element method, this paper proposes a method to make a combined use of finite elements and exact dynamic elements. Exact interpolation functions for a Timoshenko beam element are derived and compared with interpolation functions of the finite element method (FEM). The exact interpolation functions are tested with the Laplace variable varied. The exact interpolation functions are used to gain more accurate mode shape functions for the finite element method. This paper also presents a combined use of finite elements and exact dynamic elements in design problems. A Timoshenko frame with tapered sections is tested to demonstrate the design procedure with the proposed method.
A novel synthetic aperture method for real-time three-way dynamic focusing is proposed, which provides lateral beam patterns represented as the product of Fourier transforms of transmit subaperture, receive subaperture, and a synthetic window function. In the proposed method, all array elements are fired individually and for each firing echo signals are recorded from all elements of a receive subaperture moving along an array with the transmit element. The three-way dynamic focusing is then achieved by employing a synthetic aperture algorithm for two-way dynamic focusing and a synthetic focusing method for transmit dynamic focusing. Both theoretical analysis and computer simulation results show that the proposed method produces ultrasound beams with improved lateral resolution at all depths compared to the conventional phased array imaging and synthetic aperture focusing methods.
In this paper, we deal with the kinematic and dynamic modeling of hybrid robotic systems that are constructed by combination of parallel and serial modules or series of parallel modules. Previously, open-tree structure has been employed for dynamic modeling of hybrid robotic systems. Though this method is generally used, however, it requires expensive computation as the size of the system increases. Therefore, we propose an efficient dynamic modeling methodology for hybrid robotic systems. Initially, the dynamic model for the proximal module is obtained with respect to the independent joint coordinates. Then, in order to represent the operational dynamics of the proximal module, we model virtual joints attached at the top platform of the proximal module. The dynamic motion of the next module exerts dynamic forces to the virtual joints, which in fact is equivalent to the reaction forces exerted on the platform of the lower module by the dynamics of the upper module. Then, the dynamic forces at the virtual joints are distributed to the independent joints of the proximal module. For multiple modules, this scheme can be constructed as a recursive dynamic formulation, which results in reduction of the complexness of the open-tree structure method for modeling of hybrid robotic systems. Simulation for inverse dynamics is performed to validate the proposed modeling algorithm.

The use of unconditionally stable implicit time integration techniques for pseudo-dynamic tests has been recently proposed and advanced by several researchers such as Thewalt and Mahin Nakashima and Shing. The developed implicit algorithms are based on a-Method of Hugest et al. In this paper a concise summary and explanation of implicit method for Pseudo dynamic test is presented. Especially The a-C method developed by shing at al. has been in-depth evaluated for this study. Important parameters of the a-C method have been analyzed by the simulation test.
