In this paper, we proposed a dual-directional SCR (silicon-controlled rectifier) based ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection circuit. In comparison with conventional SCR, this ESD protection circuit can provide an effective protection against ESD pulses in the two opposite directions, so the ESD protection circuit can be discharged in two opposite direction. The proposed circuit has a higher holding voltage characteristic than conventional SCR. These characteristic enable to have latch-up immunity under normal operating conditions as well as superior full chip ESD protection. it was analyzed to figure out electrical characteristics in term of individual design parameters. They are investigated by using the Synopsys TCAD simulator. In the simulation results, it has trigger voltage of 6.5V and holding voltage increased with different design parameters. The holding voltage of the proposed circuit changes from 2.1V to 6.3V and the proposed circuit has symmetrical I-V characteristic for positive and negative ESD pulse.
We have investigated the electrical characteristics of SCR(Silicon Controlled Rectifier)-based ESD power clamp circuit with high holding voltage and dual-directional ESD protection cells for a whole-chip ESD protection. The measurement results indicate that the dimension of n/p-well and p-drift has a great effect on holding voltage (2V-5V). Also A dual-directional ESD protection circuit is designed for I/O ESD protection application. The trigger voltage and the holding voltage are measured to 5V and 3V respectively. In comparison with typical ESD protection schemes for whole-chip ESD protection, this ESD protection device can provide an effective protection for ICs against ESD pulses in the two opposite directions, so this design scheme for whole-chip ESD protection can be discharged in ESD-stress mode (PD, ND, PS, NS) as well as VDD-VSS mode. Finally, a whole-chip ESD protection can be applied to 2.5~3.3V VDD applications. The robustness of the novel ESD protection cells are measured to HBM 8kV and MM 400V.
The SCTP (Stream Control Transmission Protocol) implementation with the DAR (Dynamic Address Reconfiguration) extension is called the mSCTP (Mobile SCTP) that is proposed recently for mobility support in transport layer. The mSCTP does not satisfy short handover latency for real-time applications and it has no specific handover decision mechanisms. In this paper, we propose fast handover schemes for mobile nodes that are moving into different subnet using pre-acquisition RA (Router Advertisement) and L3 trigger for improving handover performance. Furthermore, we introduce three specific methods which are RA cache, FMIPv6 (Fast Handovers for Mobile IPv6) and dual interface and how proposed scheme can be interoperated with handover process respectively. Finally, we show two experimental results which are the mSCTP and the mSCTP using FMIPv6 on Linux platforms. Experimental results show that handover performance is improved with reducing the time of receiving RA which takes most of total handover latency.

In this paper, we designed driving IC for 500 V resonant half-bridge type power converter, In this single-ended level shifter, chip area and power dissipation was decreased by 50% and 23.5% each compared to the conventional dual-ended level shifter. Also, this newly designed circuit solved the biggest problem of conventional flip-flop type level shifter in which the power MOSFET were turned on simultaneously due to the large dv/dt noise. The proposed high side level shifter included switching noise protection circuit and schmmit trigger to minimize the effect of displacement current flowing through LDMOS of level shifter when power MOSFET is operating. The designing process was proved reasonable by conducting Spectre and PSpice simulation on this circuit using 1${\mu}m$ BCD process parameter.

In this paper, a new dynamic D-flip-flop which does not suffer from charge sharing and glitch problems is proposed. And a dual-modulus divide-by-128/129 prescaler has been designed with the proposed D-flip-flops using a 0.6$0.6{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. Eleven-transistor architecture enables it to operate at the higher frequency range and the transistor merging technique contributes to the reduction of power consumption. At 5V supply voltage, the simulated maximum operating frequency and the current consumption of the divide-by-128/129 prescaler are 1.97GHz and 7.453mA, respectively.

In Korean women, a westernized lifestyle is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Fertility preservation has become an increasingly important issue for women with breast cancer, in accordance with substantial improvements in survival rate after cancer treatment. The methods of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) for fertility preservation in breast cancer patients have been modified to include aromatase inhibitors to reduce the potential harm associated with increased estradiol levels. Random-start COH and dual ovarian stimulation are feasible options to reduce the total duration of fertility preservation treatment and to efficiently collect oocytes or embryos. Using a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist as a trigger may improve cycle outcomes in breast cancer patients undergoing COH for fertility preservation. In young breast cancer patients with BRCA mutations, especially BRCA1 mutations, the possibility of diminished ovarian reserve may be considered, although further studies are necessary. Herein, we review the current literature on the practical issues surrounding COH for fertility preservation in women with breast cancer.
Mitochondria, fundamental cellular organelles that govern energy metabolism, hold a pivotal role in cellular vitality. While consuming dioxygen to produce adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the electron transfer process within mitochondria can engender the formation of reactive oxygen species that exert dual roles in endothelial homeostatic signaling and oxidative stress. In the context of the intricate electron transfer process, several metal ions that include copper, iron, zinc, and manganese serve as crucial cofactors in mitochondrial metalloenzymes to mediate the synthesis of ATP and antioxidant defense. In this mini review, we provide a comprehensive understanding of the coordination chemistry of mitochondrial cuproenzymes. In detail, cytochrome c oxidase (CcO) reduces dioxygen to water coupled with proton pumping to generate an electrochemical gradient, while superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) functions in detoxifying superoxide into hydrogen peroxide. With an emphasis on the catalytic reactions of the copper metalloenzymes and insights into their ligand environment, we also outline the metalation process of these enzymes throughout the copper trafficking system. The impairment of copper homeostasis can trigger mitochondrial dysfunction, and potentially lead to the development of copper-related disorders. We describe the current knowledge regarding copper-mediated toxicity mechanisms, thereby shedding light on prospective therapeutic strategies for pathologies intertwined with copper dyshomeostasis.
The expression of phase II detoxifying enzymes is affected by a variety of compounds and the induction of the enzymes plays an essential role in chemoprevention. A variety of phytochemicals such as sulfur-containing chemoprotective agents (SCC) may trigger cellular signals and activate phase II gene expression through ARE activation. see induces glutathione S-transferases. Studies were conducted to investigate the role of mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3-kinase) in the induction of GST (e.g. rGSTA2) by sec. We also studied the MAP kinase pathway responsible for the GST expression by see and compared that with the pathway activated by oxidative stress as a result of sulfur amino acids deprivation (SAAD). see inhibited phosphorylation of ERK1/2 although the effect of see on JNK and p38 MAP kinase was minimal. Wortmannin and LY294002. PI3-kinase inhibitors. abolished the increases in rGSTA2 mRNA and protein levels by SCC. Deprivation of cystine and methionine caused oxidative stress in H4IIE cells. as evidenced by a decrease in the reduced glutathione and an increase in prooxidant production. Electrophoretic mobility shift assay revealed that the ARE complex consisting of Nrf-1/2 and Maf proteins was activated 12~48 h. The rGSTA2 mRNA and protein levels were increased by SAAD. Activation of ARE and induction of rGSTA2 were both completely inhibited by PI3-kinase inhibitors. Inhibition of p38 MAP kinase by SB203580 prevented the ARE-mediated rGSTA2 induction. The results of this study showed that PI3-kinase might play an essential role in the ARE-mediated rGSTA2 induction by see or SAAD and that the dual MAP kinase pathways were responsible for the enzyme induction.
