Traversing a door for mobile robot using PCA in complex environment

  • This paper presents a method that a mobile robot finds location of doors in complex environments and safely traverses the door. A robot must be able to find the door in order that it achieves the behavior that is scheduled after traversing a door. PCA(Principal Component Analysis) algorithm using the vision sensor is used for a robot to find the location of door. Fuzzy controller using sonar data is used for a robot to avoid an obstacle and traverse the doors.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of the consumer problems with the door to door selling and mail order selling. Data were collected from housewives in Seoul who's ages are in their thirties and fourties. results show that both in door to door selling and in mail order selling, price-related problem is the most serious and the state of employment is the most significant variable.

  • This study is conducted a survey of consumer problems and dissatisfactionand their complaining behavior with door to door and mail order sellings. Results of the study show that both door to door selling and mail order selling the level of consumer complaining behavior was below median point. Path analysis of the variables affected complaining behavior showed that total causal effect to the biggest consumer dissatisfaction.

  • The passenger side entrance door is very important system that make boarding and getting off the passengers. During the passenger door closing, there is some obstacles between door panels, passenger door can detect the obstacle and obstacle is remained between door panels, vehicle can no possible to move. But passenger door can not detect the obstacle if obstacle is too thin such as clothes and belts. So, anti-drag system is applied the to make detect these thin obstacle. Therefore, we survey the characteristic, function and its activation scenario of anti-drag system and present the passenger door system that latest applied anti-drag system that can be a help to make design.

Evaluation of Door Closing Sound by Using Semantic Difference Method (승용차 문닫이 음질의 평가기법에 관한 연구)

  • Inthe study, a method to evaluate the door closing sound has been developed. Based on the factor analysis, various adjective pairs which describe meaning of the door impact sound have been differentiated. This approach, called Semantic difference(SD) method, was originally developed in linguistics research on order to compare diverse mother tongue. This paper introduces at first how the door sound os generated and transmitted. After that, a factor analysis which is a tool of SD method is implemented to door closing sound for 12 domestic and 1 foreign car models. During investigation, the examined models are categorized into small, medium and luxurious size automobiles. The adjective pairs which attritbute to the door quality have been factorized into three group : expensive/ smooth, powerful/ heavy, and modern/dull. It turns out that the first factor : expensive/ smooth plays the most important role in door closing sound quality.

  • Recently, several vehicle manufacturers have used the aluminum side door impact beam in order to reduce the vehicle weight and costs. But, the aluminum impact beam may cause the reduction of the side door strength and the side impact capability.   • A hot stamping technology of vehicle door impact beam made of thin sheet steel has been developed, with the aim of ensuring occupant safety in a side collision. This technology has been implemented to increase the strength of vehicle body parts and to reduce not only the weight of door impact beam but also the number of work processes. Mechanical tests were performed to obtain material properties of hot-stamped specimen and those were used as input data in stamping and structural simulation for optimal design of door impact beam. Strength of hot-stamped door impact beam increased to the value 102% higher than that of conventional pipe-shaped door impact beam and structural simulation showed that hot-stamped door impact beam achieved 28% weight reduction.

Sound Reduction Index of Interior Door by Aperture Sizes at Door's Bottom (하부틈새 크기에 따른 도어의 음향감쇠계수 분석)

  • The Sound reduction indices(SRIs) of interior door with 13 different size apertures are measured in acoustic chamber. Also, as a theoretical approach, the SRIs are estimated using Gomperts' theory. In this study, the aperture of interior door is focused on the lower part of door leaf which is well known as a main cause to deteriorate the sound insulation performance of door. The results show that the SRI of door strongly depends on the aperture width and the dip in the measured sound reduction index curve by the resonance effect within aperture is observed at high-frequency. On the whole, the values calculated by theory are in good agreement with the measured values including the position of resonance dip. The average difference between the measured and the calculated values is 0.9 dB for 13 doors with different size aperture in terms of the weighted SRI.

Optimal Design of Lightweight High Strength Door with Tailored Blank (합체박판 기술을 적용한 고장도 경량도어 최적 설계)

  • The automotive industry faces many competitive challenges including weight and cost reduction to meet need for higher fuel economy. Tailored blanks offer the opportunity to decrease door weight, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve door stiffness. Optimization technology is applied to the inner panel of a door which is made by tailored blanks. The design of tailored blanks door starts from an existing door. At first, the hinge reinforcement and inner reinforcement are removed to use tailored blanks technology. The number of parts and the welding lines are determined from intuitions and the structural analysis results of the existing door. Size optimization is carried out to find thickness while the stiffness constraints are satisfied. The door hinge system is optimized using design of experiment approach. A commercial optimization software MSC/NASTRAN is utilized for the structural analysis and the optimization processes.
