다중 다공판 시스템에서 직관요소에 대한 전기음향등가회로법의 오류 (The Error Involved in the Equivalent Electroacoustic Circuit Approach for the Element of Straight Pipe in Multiple Layer Perforated Plate Systems)

  • The equivalent electroacoustic circuit approach has been conventionally used for the analysis of the multiple layer perforated plate system. However, it is found that an analogy error has been involved in the equivalent electroacoustic approach proposed by previous researchers for the element of straight pipe. Although the pipe between the perforated layers is a distributed element in the analogy, it has been treated as a parallel element by previous investigators. The analogy error is demonstrated by comparing the calculated absorption coefficients based on the parallel circuit and the distributed circuit, respectively, with the measured values by the two-microphone impedance tube method.

  • In this paper, we have designed a small size lumped/distributed hybrid element directional coupler using parallel coupled-line theory. a hybrid lumped equivalent circuit for a conventional parallel directional coupler is proposed. The equivalent circuit and design formula for the presented lumped element coupler are derived based on the even- and odd-mode properties of a parallel-coupled line. By using the derived design formula, we have extracted design parameters and designed the 3㏈ and 10㏈ small size lumped element directional couplers at the center frequency of 2Ghz. Excellent agreements between design theory and simulation on the designed directional couplers show the validity of this paper.

  • CAN is a serial communication bus for real-time controls and automations in distributed control systems. In distributed control systems, occasionally a sensor module and a controller are not in the same node and physically separated. In order for the signal from a sensor node to reach the controller node, the signal must travel through network. CAN has a certain capabilities to deal with real-time data. However, when many nodes on the networks try to send data on the same network, the arbitration mechanism to solve the data collision problem is necessary. This situation causes the time delay which has detrimental effects on the performance of the control systems. This paper proposes a method to solve the problem due to the time delay in distributed control system using CAN. Time delay is approximated to an element with a rational transfer function using Pade approximation and Mu~synthesis method is applied. Since time delay in the network is not constant, the time delay element is considered to be an uncertainty block with a bound. The proposed method is applied to the experimental system with CAN and proved to be effective.

분포하중이 포물선 아치의 정적 거동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Distributed Load on the Static Behaviour of tile Parabolic Arches)

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of partially distributed loads on the static behavior of parabolic arches by using the elastic-plastic finite element model. For this purpose, the vertical, the radial, and the anti-symmetric load cases are considered, and the ratio of loading range and arch span is increased from 20% to 100%. Also, the elastic-visco-plastic analysis has been carried out to estimate the elapse time to reach the stable state of arches when the ultimate load obtained by the finite element analysis is applied. It is noted that the ultimate load carrying capacities of parabolic arches are 6.929 tf/$m^2$ for the radial load case, and 8.057 tf/$m^2$ for the vertical load case. On the other hand, the ultimate load is drastically reduced as 2.659 tf/$m^2$ for the anti-symmetric load case. It is also shown that the maximum ultimate load occurs at the full ranging distributed load, however, the minimum ultimate loads of the radial and vortical load cases are obtained by 2.336 tf/$m^2$, 2.256 tf/$m^2$, respectively, when the partially distributed load is applied at the 40% range of full arch span.

분산 소자 형태의 마이너스 군지연 회로를 이용한 고효율 피드포워드 증폭기의 분석 및 설계 (Analysis and Design of High Efficiency Feedforward Amplifier Using Distributed Element Negative Group Delay Circuit)

  • 본 논문에서는 분산 소자 형태의 마이너스 군지연 회로를 이용함으로써 피드포워드 증폭기의 효율 개선 및 구현의 용이성을 증대시킬 수 있는 새로운 구조의 피드포워드 증폭기를 제안한다. 피드포워드 증폭기의 지연 소자에 의한 삽입 손실은 심각한 시스템의 효율 저하를 유발한다. 일반적으로 이러한 손실을 줄이기 위하여 고출력 동축 케이블 또는 지연 선로 여파기를 사용하지만, 그러한 소자들의 삽입 손실조차도 무시할 수 없어서 피드포워드 증폭기의 제약 사항으로 작용한다. 제안하는 마이너스 군지연 회로를 이용함으로써 광대역 선형화를 위해 혼변조 왜곡 신호 상쇄 루프에 사용되는 지연 소자를 제거할 수 있다. 중심 주파수가 2.14 GHz인 WCDMA 하향 대역에서 -9 ns의 군지연, 0.2 dB의 삽입 손실, 그리고 30 MHz의 대역폭을 갖도록 제작된 2단 분산 소자 마이너스 군지연 회로를 이용하여 제작된 제안하는 구조의 피드포워드 증폭기는 평균 출력 전력이 44 dBm 일 때 -53.2 dBc의 인접 채널 누설비(Adjacent Channel Leakage Ratio: ACLR)를, 19.4 %의 전력 부가 효율(Power Added Efficiency: PAE)을 갖는 것으로 측정되었다.

Advanced analysis for planar steel frames with semi-rigid connections using plastic-zone method

  • This paper presents a displacement-based finite element procedure for second-order distributed plasticity analysis of planar steel frames with semi-rigid beam-to-column connections under static loadings. A partially strain-hardening elastic-plastic beam-column element, which directly takes into account geometric nonlinearity, gradual yielding of material, and flexibility of semi-rigid connections, is proposed. The second-order effects and distributed plasticity are considered by dividing the member into several sub-elements and meshing the cross-section into several fibers. A new nonlinear solution procedure based on the combination of the Newton-Raphson equilibrium iterative algorithm and the constant work method for adjusting the incremental load factor is proposed for solving nonlinear equilibrium equations. The nonlinear inelastic behavior predicted by the proposed program compares well with previous studies. Coupling effects of three primary sources of nonlinearity, geometric imperfections, and residual stress are investigated and discussed in this paper.

  • This paper proposes a method which distributes the structure data represented by a tree and handles it. To distribute and handle the structure data, this method partitions a structure data and distributes the partitioned structure in multiple processing element and allocates the partitioned structure. Each processing element includes the structure memory to store the partitioned structure and the structure controller to handle efficiently the distributed structure. As the structure is distributed and is stored in the structure memory and is handled by the structure controller, the processing time is reduced.

  • This paper deals with the dynamic stability of a disc brake pad taking into account of its shear deformation and rotary inertia. A brake pad can be modeled as a beam like model subjected to distributed friction forces and having two translational springs. The study of this model is intended to provide a fundamental understanding of dynamic stability of drum brake pad. Governing equations of motion are derived from extended Hamilton's principle and their corresponding numerical solutions are obtained by applying the finite element formulation. The critical distributed friction force and the instability types are investigated bt changing two translational spring constants, rotary inertia parameter and shear deformation parameter. Also, the changes of eigen-frequencies of a beam determining instability types are investigated for various combinations of two translational spring constants.

Reduction of Electromagnetic Force in AC Distributed Winding of Fault Current Limiter under Short-Circuit Condition

  • Various kinds of winding arrangements can be used to enable fault current limiters (FCL) to tolerate higher forces without resulting in a substantial increase in construction and fabrication costs. In this paper, a distributed winding arrangement is investigated in terms of its effects on the short-circuit forces in a three-phase FCL. The force magnitudes of the AC supplied windings are calculated by employing a finite element-based model in the time stepping procedure. The leakage flux and radial and axial force magnitudes obtained from the simulation are compared to those obtained from a conventional winding arrangement. The comparison shows that the distributed winding arrangement significantly reduces the radial and, especially, the axial force magnitudes.

  • This paper presents a digital modeling technique for the distributed parameter system. The basic idea of the proposed technique is to discretize a continuous system with respect to the spatial coordinate using the approximate methods such as bilinear method and backward difference method. The response of the discretized system is analyzed by Laplace transform and Z transform. The computational result of the proposed technique in a torsional shaft is compared with the exact solution and the result of the finite element method.
