The effects of pixel density, sub-pixel structure, luminance, and illumination on legibility of smartphone (화소 밀집도, 화소 하부구조, 휘도, 조명 조도가 스마트폰 가독성에 미치는 영향)

  • Since the domestic introduction of iPhone in 2009, use of smartphones rapidly increased and many tasks, previously performed by various devices, are now performed by smartphones. In this process the importance of reading little text using small smartphone screen has become highly significant. This research tested how display factors of smartphone (pixel density, sub-pixel structure, luminance) and environmental factor (illumination) affect legibility related discomfort in text reading. The results indicated that legibility related discomfort is largely affected by pixel density, where people experience inconvenience when the pixel density becomes lower than 300 PPI. Illumination has limited effect on legibility related discomfort. Participants reported more legibility related discomfort when stimulus presented in various levels of illumination rather than single illumination level. Sub-pixel structure and luminance did not affected legibility related discomfort. Based on the results we suggest lower limit resolution of smart devices (smartphones, tablet computers) of different sizes for text legibility.

  • A number of the retail and traditional market customer is decrease, whereas that of the supermarket in department-store customers is increase. This case suggests that customers have a preference for much more comfortable and pleasant shopping places And making a reasonable purchase in the supermarkets where we can find various goods and price zone, is now garden variety. It is a current course that once the manager ask an architect for multi-functional space design in department-store and then the architect compose a team and start to design. Of course, the team of planner thinking manage give the design team the basic material data such as commerce analysis and the use of each layer in the department store but, the design team solve the assignment by architectural form, functional space plan and the limited architecture law, After establishing general design for architecture, we can ask shopping-mall distribution, products display and interior design of the interior design team. so it is inevitable that the interior design team concerning M$\cdot$D can find lots of complementary factors with architecture design. The purpose of this study is analyzing the differences of architecture design, which has to accept the limited law and interior design concerning M$\cdot$D, satisfying the structure and the law in the future design for the department-store. Also the purpose of this thesis is suggestion the items architects and interior designers research into together to make the inner space ideally.

The Effect of the Resistance of Wedge Frame on the Clamping Force of the Rail Clamp (쐐기프레임의 저항력이 레일클램프의 압착력에 미치는 영향)

  • The damping force of a jaw pad is determined by the displacements of main part when two lockers are locked, after the damping angle of a locker was set up in the wedge type rail damp for a container crane. In this time, of the resistance of wedge frame generates due to several factors, the damping angle of a locker to display the initial clamping force will be changed because of the reduction of displacement of extension bar. This resistance is determined by the eccentric distance between the roller and the wedge, and by the gap between the wedge frame and outer frame. In this study we measured the tensile force of both extension bar through the performance test of the prototype rail damp in order to evaluate the effect of the resistance of wedge frame on the damping force of the wedge type rail clamp.

A Comparison of Consumer Behaviors in China and Taiwan

  • The purpose of this research is mainly to make an analysis and comparison of the purchasing behaviors of consumers in Mainland China and Taiwan. We precede this research with a questionnaire survey. In Mainland China, we targeted consumers of 10 department stores of the Parkson Plaza Co., Ltd. that are located in 10 different cities. In Taiwan, we selected 3 department stores of the Far Eastern Department Stores in 3 cities. The results of this analysis indicate the importance of quality attributes to the consumers for both Mainland China and Taiwan, albeit with some differentiations. The consumers in China are more focused on the merchandise for example as well as imitation, quality and price. Contrarily, the consumers in Taiwan are more attentive to service quality and parking Issues. On the level of evaluation of satisfaction, the differences are not so obvious for both sides. For example, the quality attributes of “No imitation products” and “Friendly servers” are ranked as the most satisfactory items for both sides. Generally speaking, the service quality of Taiwan's department stores is very outstanding. There are also some differences in the areas of lesser satisfaction between consumers of China and Taiwan. The consumers in China identified the quality attribute “the designs of merchandising, display and the usage of each floor” as the most dissatisfactory item, while the performance on this quality attribute is well accepted by the consumers of Taiwan's department stores. Another contradiction is that Taiwan's consumers are more concerned about “Parking”; this quality attribute obtained much less attention from the consumers in Mainland China. From the analysis of determinants that will have impacts on the willingness of customers to buy again, we found that the viewpoints of consumers from both sides are quite similar. The two main factors are “quality of merchandise” and “service quality”. However, the consumers in Mainland China care more about “the price of merchandise”; this is less important to the consumers in Taiwan. We may conclude from the importance and satisfaction level of the quality attributes and determinants for return customers that differences are caused mainly by the different management of the department stores and the different living circumstances of people across the straights.

  • Eco-museums can be called "living museums" without walls covering specific areas. Eco-museums protect, preserve and display the integrity, completeness and protozoic of nature and cultural heritage, and emphasize the organic relationship between people and heritage. In 1971, the concept of "ecomuseum" was presented by Frenchman George Henry Rivier. "Environment" includes natural and human life. It then spread to Canada, Britain, the United States and China[1]. The first Ecological Museum and the concept of this study, the existing literature, high and each Su donghai, Hu chaoxiang and Liviere selects, six in the study of factors. Museum was analyzed by the ecology of the frame of analysis of several countries. According to the analysis results, the frame of this theory will not only be applicable to the research of the ecological museum in the ecological museum, but it will also be able to use this theory frame for the analysis of the ecological museum in China's minority areas in the future.

  • Recently due to development of IT technology, ideas and technology that blends with environment has evolved. In this paper, we propose WiT(WiFI Trash-Can) which takes advantage of the IT technology fusion and environmental factors at the same time to create a more pleasant environment. WiT provides a free WiFi when disposing trash in the trash can. WiT which is synthetic name for WiFi and Trash-Can is a system that is provides free WiFi when people dispose litter to detect whether user had access and determined the volume of the trash disposed. WiT uses Arduino and Raspberry Pi to detect the amount of trash and provide WiFi output on the display to show the ability to design and implement the remaining amount of time available.

A Study on Phenomenon 'Play of Words' in Modern Russian Advertising Language (현대 러시아 광고언어에 있어서의 '언어유희' 현상에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this article is to represent the types of advertising in the modern Russian language as 'Play of Words' (игра слов). The causal reason for this phenomenon is studied from the result of certain characteristics of advertising. The definition and characteristics of the language of the advertisement are analyzed in achieving the goal, as these factors reveal how language is used to maximize the effectiveness of the advertising. Academic research is needed in the collaborative fields of linguistics, psychology, economics, sociology, marketing, literature, art, and music. Modern advertisement is mixed with semiotic objects that consist of display, sound, and texts. While this study is not complete, the acknowledgement of the phenomenon 'Play of Words' between the creators of advertising and the consumer is undeniable. On one hand, advertising is recognized by linguists as the main factor that destroys the literary language. It represents the distortion of a standard language norm, as opposed to formal linguistic means used in advertising. In this research, we pay attention to the frequent use of foreign language borrowings and incorrect representation of foreign words, slang and jargon, that occur in misspelled usage of literary norms. The features that are revealed in this article are helpful to understand the purpose of advertising.

Size Perception Analysis on Smartphone-based Immersive Virtual Environment (스마트폰 기반 몰입형 가상 환경에서의 크기 인지 분석)

  • Participants in the virtual environment will have an immersive and memorable perceived experience through interacting with virtual objects. Recently, commercial virtual reality technologies have released simple and cost-effective smartphone-based head-mounted displays (HMD) and high-quality wide field-of-view (FOV) HMDs. However, due to the vergence-accommodation conflict structure of HMD and the learned cognition mechanism in real, side effects such as dizziness and nausea remain challenging to overcome. This study focuses on consistent size perception among various cognitive difference factors, which are essential for interaction with virtual objects. We verified whether the visual angle, which affects the size perception of an object in real, is also the main factor in the virtual environment. Our experiments derived the relation between the visual angle and the environmental components, shadow, and grid, which help perceive a virtual object. As a result of the regression analysis, we presented that in the small FOV HMD environment, the visual angle affects size perception, and the relation between the shadow and the grid is statistically significant.

Differences In Joint Position Sense, Force Sense, and Performance Level of the Upper Extremities According to the Sex, Injury and Pain Experiences of Korean Elite Archers (한국 엘리트 양궁선수들의 성별과 부상, 통증 경험에 따른 상지의 관절위치 감각과 힘감각, 경기력 수준의 차이)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in joint position sense (JPS), force sense (FS), and performance level of the upper extremities according to the injury and pain experiences of Korean elite archers. Methods: A total of 15 subjects were briefed about the purpose of this study and agreed to participate voluntarily. JPS was evaluated using the laser-point attached to the wrist while aiming at the target. The difference when relocating while aiming was used as JPS factor. FS was evaluated using load cell through reproduces same muscle strength. Fear-Avoidance Beliefs Questionnaire (FABQ) was used to evaluate psychosocial factors, Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic overhead athlete scores (KJOC) and numerical rating scale (NRS) was used to evaluate pain. and performance was evaluated by tournament match score. Results: There is a strong correlation between the current pain and KJOC. Moreover, moderate correlation between KJOC and FABQ also current pain and both upper trapezius and lower trapezius in elite archers. The mean (SD) between groups based on current pain display relatively large margin in force sense than without pain group. The result presents that there is a significant difference in performance and pain. There is a significant difference in the force sense of the upper and lower trapezius and pain. Conclusions: Result present there is a significant difference in functional level in the average comparison between groups according to the presence of absence of current pain. There is a significant difference in the force sense of the upper trapezius as well as lower trapezius and without pain group present a relatively low joint position sense error compared to the groups.

A Hong Kong Born Director's Chinese Theme Film : Changes and Influence of Lin Chaoxian's film (홍콩 출신 감독 린차오셴(林超賢) 영화가 중국 주선율 영화에 미친 영향)

  • This article analyzed the new changes Hong Kong director Lin Chaoxian has brought to theme films of Mainland China and the factors affecting these changes. The objects of the analysis are Lin Chaoxian's films (2016), (2018), and (2020). Compared with Mainland China directors suffering from heavy political burden, Dante Lam directed theme films based on the model from commercial films and adopted lots of elements from Hong Kong films. There, the ideology expression in these theme films was no longer rigid, but a diversified value embodiment resonating with the audience. At the same time, these theme films achieved higher commercial value, in which the stereotyped and unrealistic hero images were replaced by realistic and compound characters, and the display of cool or violent action scenes contributed to lots of visual feasts. All the changes were influenced by the audience preferences and the development of private enterprises in Mainland China.
