The study investigates the effects of online instructional facilitator's qualities on student performance of online class activities. The study explores the roles of instructional facilitators who may influence student performance of online class activities and their academic achievement. The study employs a set of aggregated data from 1,362 subjects and 10 facilitators who participated in multiple online classes. The results of independent samples t-test reveal that the student performance in online classes has no association with facilitators' educational background or academic degree, as well as demographic characteristics, student evaluation records and instructional achievement. The results of multiple regression analysis show that the facilitator engagement has a positive relation to the enhancement of student interaction, reading discussion messages, and the quality of discussion messages in online discussions. The results of correlation analysis show that the facilitator engagement has a positive impact on both increasing the number of reading discussion messages and enhancing the quality of discussion messages. The facilitator engagement increases the quantity of reading discussion postings and enhances the quality of discussion messages, which would be a substantial contribution to student performance by facilitators. The findings suggest that student performance and academic achievement in online classes are not independent of facilitator engagement.

이 연구는 온라인 토론 과정에서 메시지 품질과 토론 연결망 구조, 그리고 여론지도력의 관계를 탐색했다. 서울시 무상급식 논란이 벌어진 온라인 커뮤니티의 실제 토론사례를 분석한 결과, 메시지 품질과 연결망 지수, 주목과 반응이 모두 밀접한 관련을 맺고 있었다. 메시지 품질이 높은 토론자는 활발한 의견 교환을 유도해 토론 연결망에서 중심위치를 차지하면서 다른 토론자의 주목과 반응을 이끄는 여론지도력을 행사했다. 그러나 메시지 품질이 주목과 반응을 직접 유인하기보다 연결망 위치와 역할이 메시지 품질의 효과를 매개하고 있어 온라인 여론지도력이 토론자의 메시지 품질과 구조적 위치의 복합적 영향력임을 알 수 있었다. 한편, 여론지도층의 높은 메시지 품질에도 불구하고 연결망의 구조적 효과가 전체 토론의 합리성을 제약해 고립된 숙의와 여론 극화를 유인했다. 마지막으로, 메시지 품질의 여론지도력을 매개하는 연결망 구조와 여론지각의 상호작용 효과는 여론을 주도하는 다수여론집단에서 강하게 관찰됐다. 분석결과를 토대로 온라인 여론지도력 연구에서 토론 연결망의 구조적 효과가 지니는 함의를 논의했다.

본 연구의 목적은 온라인 토론 수업에서 학구적 자기효능감이 토론 참여도와 만족도에 미치는 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 본 연구의 결과 분석을 통해 도출된 결론은 다음과 같다. 먼저, 온라인 토론 수업에서 학구적 자기효능감이 토론 참여도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로, 온라인 토론 수업에서 학구적 자기효능감과 토론 참여도가 토론 만족도에 영향을 주는 것으로 드러났다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해, 온라인 토론 수업에서 토론 참여도와 만족도의 질적 증진을 위해 학습자의 학구적 자기효능감을 활용할 것을 제안한다.

본 연구의 목적은 비실시간 온라인 토론에서 학습자의 자기조절학습전략이 토론 만족도와 참여 메시지 유형에 미치는 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 본 연구의 결과 분석을 통해 도출된 결론은 다음과 같다. 우선, 비실시간 온라인 토론에서 자기조절학습전략이 토론 만족도에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로, 자기조절학습전략이 인지적 차원의 참여 유형 형태에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해, 비실시간 온라인 토론에서 학습자의 인지적 차원의 참여와 토론 만족 수준의 향상을 위해 자기조절학습전략을 활용할 것이 제안되었다.

정보통신기술(ICT) 사용이 사회생활 깊숙이 융화됨에 따라, 온라인 커뮤니티와 같은 새로운 유형의 사회집단형태가 출현하였다. 온라인 커뮤니티는 시공간을 초월한 많은 사람들이 함께 참여하고 공헌함으로써 집합적 지식이 생성되고 분배될 수 있도록 한다. 대게 온라인 커뮤니티에서는 익명성을 제공하는데, 익명성은 여러 가지 사회적 제약을 가지고 있는 사람들의 적극적인 사회적 참여를 가능케 하여 다양한 의사표현과 보다 많은 이들의 참여 활동 증가 등의 긍정적인 역할을 할 수 있다. 그러나 익명성은 개인의 실제 정체성을 파악할 수 없는 상태를 제공하므로, 이를 악용하여 심각한 사회적 병리현상을 초래하기도 한다. 이에 따라 최근 익명성이 제공되는 온라인 커뮤니티에서 사람들의 행위에 근본적으로 영향을 주는 것은 무엇이며, 사람들의 행위가 어떻게 통제되는가에 대한 연구의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 익명성 환경에서 인간의 행위를 통제하는 주요 요인으로 사람의 정체성에 주목하고, 정체성에 대한 이론을 종합적으로 검토하여 연구 모델을 설정하였다. 본 연구에서는 자아를 형성하는 다양한 측면인 사회적 집단 정체성과 개인 정체성(공적 자아의식, 사적 자아의식)을 전체적으로 살펴봄으로써 익명성이 보장된 온라인 환경에서 인간의 행위 통제에 영향을 주는 요인과 그 결과를 온라인 토론 커뮤니티를 중심으로 분석하였다. 특히 건전한 온라인 커뮤니티 토론 운영을 위해서는, 참여 멤버들이 커뮤니티에서 형성된 집단 규범을 준수하고, 적극적으로 참여하도록 동기가 부여되어, 결과적으로 양질의 토론의 장이 펼쳐질 수 있도록 하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 이에 대해 본 연구는 사회적/기술적 익명성과 다양한 정체성 측면, 내적 참여 동기부여 정도, 집단 규범 준수, 그리고 온라인 토론의 질이 어떠한 인과관계가 있는지 실증적으로 검증하였다. 또한 익명성 수준별, 커뮤니티의 토론 주제별, 남녀별, 연령대별, 커뮤니티 가입기간별 그룹 간 차이점을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해, 물리적인 대면 조직이 아닌 가상의 온라인 커뮤니티 상에서 사람들의 행동 통제에 대한 영향 요인과 결과적 현상을 분석함으로써, 온라인 커뮤니티 운영 전략과 양질의 인터넷 토론 문화 정립에 관한 이론적, 실무적 시사점을 제시할 수 있다.

This study analyzed the contents of "Reading" textbooks for 1st-6th grades. The focus of the analysis was on philosophical thinking methods designed to help children to think for themselves. Following the analysis, methods were designed for the application of effective use of Philosophy in the elementary school curriculum. Analysis of works of children's literature in "reading" textbooks show patterns of logical, ethical and creative thinking. Therefore, "reading" textbooks can be used to help children to think philosophically. Five stages of discussion can be applied in the classroom; these are: establish the issues, outline the process of discussion, discuss the issues, evaluate and summarize the discussion, apply the learning to other subjects. Teachers can use philosophical thinking methods to improve the quality and quantity of instruction with various questions, having children express their opinions, interpreting their thoughts clearly, maintaining logical consistency, and evaluating the procedures and results of discussion. These methods can be used in the teaching-learning process in the elementary school to develop rich findings and meaningful communication.

첫째, 실시간 온라인 토론에서 도덕성과 익명성 여부가 사회적 차원의 참여, 상호작용적 논평 차원의 참여, 인지적 차원의 참여에 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 드러났다. 둘째, 상호작용적 응답 차원의 참여에는 익명성 여부만이 영향을 미치는 것으로 드러났다. 마지막으로, 부정적 차원의 참여에는 도덕성만이 영향을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이상의 연구결과에 근거하여, 온라인 토론에서의 참여의 질을 증진시키기 위해 익명성 여부와 도덕성 수준을 고려해야 한다는 점이 도출되었다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) has an impact on auditors' audit efforts. MD&A is a means of disclosure that provides information about a company from the management's perspective in financial reporting. The MD&A is a standardized format of nonfinancial information that can be useful for the stake-holders. The auditors have incentives to utilize the nonfinancial information contained in the MD&A for their decision-making. We posit that the MD&A disclosure quality is associated with the level of audit efforts. Methods: We hand-collect the disclosure data from the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea (the Korean SEC). Results: By employing two measures of audit efforts, we document evidence that the quality of MD&A is associated with both audit hours and audit fees. Conclusion: It implies that the auditors perform intensive audit work for companies with high-quality disclosure of MD&A. The study contributes to the literature by providing the first approach to examine the association between the MD&A disclosure and audit efforts.

Purpose: To examine the degree of recognition regarding the concept of patient safety, as perceived by the patient, using a focus group discussion. Methods: A focus group discussion was conducted with a patient group comprising seven patients. Results: When the participants heard the term "patient safety" they seemed to understand it to be related to the hospital environment or satisfaction with the overall hospitalization experience. The participants emphasized communication between the medical staff and the patients in relation to the explanation of treatments, as well as the provision of information regarding prevention, experience, and the treatment of incidents with patient safety. They agreed on the need for indicators reported by patients. However, they emphasized that additional items and a questionnaire method that considers the patients' point of view are needed. Conclusion: It is necessary to establish and implement various strategies that can raise the awareness of patient safety using patient safety indicators and increase participation in patient safety activities.

Quality of care and patient safety have become today's agenda for healthcare industry in worldwide. This paper describes experiences to improve quality of care and patient safety in USA and identifies some future tasks for better implementation of quality improvement efforts. The paper concludes with a discussion of the implications for Korean healthcare system.
