소형표면전하유도형 정전모터의 개발을 위한 연구 (A Study on Development of Miniature Size Surface Charge Electrostatic Induction Motor)

  • A miniature size electrostatic induction motor has been fabricated and studied with emphasis on the role of the surface resistivity, the relative dielectric constant of the rotor surface materials and the rotor liner materials, which control the charge induction and relaxation on the rotor surface and the field intensity between the rotor and the stator. It is found that the higher resitivity and/or the higher relative dielectric constant, concurrently the longer relaxation time constant of the rotor surface materials make the motor speed get higher speed. In case of discrete coated rotor surface it is found that the motor speed was increased logarithmically as narrow as width of the discrete coated Ti. And the degree of width of discrete coated Ti to the axial direction of the rotor was $60^{\circ}$ and $150^{\circ}$, the motor has got a 125% higher than that at the degree of $0^{\circ}$.

정전유도형모터의 개발을 위한 기초연구 (A Basic Study of Development of Electrostatic Induction Motor)

  • A miniature size electrostatic induction motor has been fabricated and studied parameters Influencing dominantly to the motor speed, such as a voltage and frequency of the 3 phase ac power source supplied to the stator of fabricated motor, the surface resistivity and relative dielectric constant of the rotor surface materials and the concurrently calculated relaxation time constants.   • The present study aims to examine the influence of flame spray distance on the thermal behavior of micro-metal particles and the morphological characteristics of $Ni_{20}Cr$ layers coated on the preheated SCM415 substrates by using the conventional flame spray system. Commercially available nickel-based $Ni_{20}Cr$ particles with a mean diameter of $45{\mu}m$ were used. In addition, CFD simulations using a commercial code (FLUENT ver. 6.3.26) were conducted to estimate temperature and velocity distributions of the continuous and discrete phases before impact on the substrate. From FE-SEM images of coated layers on the substrates, it was observed that as the spray distance decreased, the metal particle morphology showed splash-like patterns and such a short stretch shape, resulting from higher particle momentums and the impact of partially melted particles. Moreover, it was found that the spray distance should be considered as one of important parameters in controlling the porosity and the adhesion strength.

Microencapsulation of Isoprinosine with Ethylcellulose

  • Isoprinosine, an antiviral agent with a bitter taste, has been clinically used up to a maximum of 4 g daily in 4-8 doses. In this investigation, isoprinosine was microencapsulated with ethylcellulose 22 cps, 50 cps and 100 cps by means of polymer deposition from cyclohexane through temperature change. Complete removal of cyclohexane from the microcapsules was necessary, since ethylcellulose-coated microcapsules obtained from cyclohexane medium were heavily solvated with cyclohexane and formed lumps even after drying. The displacement of cyclohexane by n-hexane during isolation of microcapsules (Method III) or the freezing of the anal-washed microcapsules before drying (Mothod II) provided the dried products which were more discrete microcapsules than those which were simply dried in the air overnight (Method I). Method III was especially the most effective procedure in preparing finer and more discrete microcapsules. The drug-release from microcapsules was influenced by the ratio of core to wall, the viscosity grade of ethylcellulose and the overall microcapsule size. The release rate was adequately fitted to both the first-order and the diffusion-controlled processes. It is therefore possible to design the release-controlled microcapsules with ethylcellulose of different viscosity along with various core to wall ratio.

접착층을 고려한 플라즈모닉 금 나노 디스크의 광산란 특성 (Effect of Adhesion layer on the Optical Scattering Properties of Plasmonic Au Nanodisc)

  • Metallic nanostructures have great potential for bio-chemical sensor applications due to the excitation of localized surface plasmon and its sensitive response to environmental change. Unlike the commonly explored absorption-based sensing, the optical scattering provides single particle detection scheme. For the localized surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy, the metallic nanostructures with controlled shape and size have been usually fabricated on adhesion-layer pre-coated transparent glass substrates. In this study, we calculated the optical scattering properties of plasmonic Au nanodisc using a discrete dipole approximation method and analyzed the effect of adhesion layer on them. Our result also indicates that there is a trade-off between the surface plasmon damping and the capability of supporting nanostructures in determining the optimal thickness of adhesion layer. Marginal thickness of Ti adhesion layer for supporting Au nanostructures fabricated on a silica glass substrate was experimentally analyzed by an adhesion strength test using a nano-indentation technique.

50nm급 불연속 나선형 패턴의 마스터 제작 (Fabrication of Master for a Spiral Pattern in the Order of 50nm)

  • A spirally arrayed nano-pattern is designed as a model pattern for the next generation optical storage media. The pattern consists off types of embossed rectangular dot, which are 50nm, 100nm, 150nm and 200nm in length and 50nm in width. The height of the dot is designed to be 50nm. The pitch of the spiral track of the pattern is 100nm. A ER(Electron resist) master for this pattern is fabricated by e-beam lithography process. The ER is first spin-coated to be 50nm thick on a Si wafer and then the model pattern is written on the coated ER layer by e-beam. After developing this pattern written wafer in the solution, a ER pattern master is fabricated. The most conventional e-beam machine can write patterns in orthogonal way, so we made our own pattern generator which can write the pattern in circular or spiral way. This program generates the patterns to be compatible with the e-beam machine from Raith(Raith 150). To fabricate 50nm pattern master precisely, a series of experiments were done including the design compensation for the pattern size, optimization of the dose, acceleration voltage, aperture size and developing. Through these experiments, we conclude that the higher accelerating voltages and smaller aperture size are better for mastering the nano pattern which is in order of 50nm. With the optimized e-beam lithography process, a spiral arrayed 50nm pattern master adopting PMMA resist was fabricated to have dimensional accuracy over 95% compared to the designed. Using this pattern master, a metal pattern stamp will be fabricated by Ni electro plating for injection molding of the patterned plastic substrate.

Three-dimensional finite element simulation and application of high-strength bolts

  • High-strength structural bolts have been utilized for beam-to-column connections in steel-framed structural buildings. Failure of these components may be caused by the bolt shank fracture or threads stripping-off, documented in the literature. Furthermore, these structural bolts are galvanized for corrosion resistance or quenched-and-tempered in the manufacturing process. This paper adopted the finite element simulation to demonstrate discrete mechanical performance for these bolts under tensile loading conditions, the coated and uncoated numerical model has been built up for two numerical integration methods: explicit and implicit. Experimental testing and numerical methods can fully approach the failure mechanism of these bolts and their ultimate load capacities. Comparison has also been conducted for two numerical integration methods, demonstrating that the explicit integration procedure is also suitable for solving quasi-static problems. Furthermore, by using precise bolt models in T-Stub, more accurately simulate the mechanical behavior of T-Stub, which will lay the foundation of the mechanical properties of steel bolted joints.

  • Interest in application of ultraviolet light technology for primary disinfection of potable water in drinking water treatment plants has increased significantly in recent years. The efficacy of disinfection processes in water purification systems is governed by several key factors, including reactor hydraulics, disinfectant chemistry, and microbial inactivation kinetics. The objective of this work was to develop a computational fluid dynamics(CFD) model to predict velocity fields, mass transport, chlorine decay, and microbial inactivation in a continuous flow reactor. In this paper, It describe the how to design optimal UV disinfection device for ground water, BWT and rainwater. Spring shape instrument silver coated located in inner side of disinfection chamber. It make lead the active flowing movement target water and maximize disinfection performance. To search the optimal design method, it was performed computer simulation with 3D-CFD discrete ordinates model and manufactured prototype. Using proposed design method, performed simulation and proved satisfied performance.

폴리머 안경렌즈의 반사방지 코팅효과 연구 (A Study on the Anti-Reflection Coating Effects of Polymer Eyeglasses Lens)

  • 폴리머 안경렌즈를 제조할 때 가시광선 영역에서 투과되는 빛을 증가시키고, 안경렌즈 표면에 형성되는 허상을 방지하는 반사방지 기능은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 굴절률 1.56, 1.60 및 1.67을 갖는 안경렌즈를 폴리머 렌즈 모노머 및 이염화 이부틸 주석 촉매제, 알킬 인산 에스터 이형제 등의 혼합물을 인젝션 몰드 방법으로 열중합 공정을 적용하여 제조하였다. 폴리머 안경렌즈 표면에서의 반사방지 효과를 조사하기 위하여 다층 박막 반사방지 코팅 구조(양면 또는 단면 코팅), 3층 박막의 Gaussian gradient-index profile 불연속 근사 반사방지 코팅 구조, 3층 박막의 quarter-wavelength 근사 반사방지코팅 구조 등 다양한 반사방지 코팅 구조를 설계하였고, E-beam 증착 시스템을 이용하여 열중합공정으로 제조된 폴리머 안경렌즈에 각각 코팅하였다. 폴리머 안경렌즈의 광학적 특성은 UV-visible spectrometer로 분석하였다. 반사방지 코팅 층을 구성하는 박막의 굴절률, 표면 거칠기 등의 소재 특성은 Ellipsometer와 원자힘 현미경(AFM)으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 굴절률 1.56의 낮은 굴절률을 갖는 폴리머 안경렌즈에서 가장 효과적인 반사방지 코팅 구조는 다층 박막 반사방지 코팅 구조의 양면코팅이었다. 하지만 굴절률 1.67의 고굴절률 안경렌즈에 대해서는 3층 박막의 Gaussian gradient-index profile 불연속 근사반사방지 코팅 구조의 양면 코팅도 다층박막 반사방지 코팅구조의 양면코팅에 상응하는 반사방지 효과를 나타내었다.

Effect of Tripolyphosphate (TPP) on the Controlled Release of Cyclosporin A from Chitosan-coated Lipid Microparticles

  • Soybean phosphatidylcholine microparticles loaded with cyclosporin A (CsA) were prepared by the modified emulsion solvent diffusion and ionic gelation method, in which chitosan on the surface of the microparticles was crosslinked with various concentrations of tripolyphosphate (TPP). The morphology of the particles was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The change of particle size and zeta-potential by chitosan on the surface of the lipid microparticles were systematically observed. The encapsulation efficiency and loading capacity of CsA in the particles were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). In vitro release kinetics was studied using the dialysis method. In the results, the mean particle size and the zeta-potential of lipid microparticles increased when the attached chitosan was cross-linked (from 2.5 to 6.2 ${\mu}m$ and from -37.0 to +93.0 mV, respectively). The cyclosporin A-loaded lipid microparticles appeared discrete and spherical particles with smooth surfaces. The encapsulation efficiency of CsA was between 79% and 90% while the loading capacity was between 41% and 56%. In vitro release study showed that the crosslinkage of chitosan by TPP significantly delayed the release of CsA from the particles in a concentration-dependent manner. Thus, the release of CsA from the lipid microparticles could be controlled by tripolyphosphate used as a cross-linking agent.
