  • Due to cost-effective and compact system design IPM-based inverters are now being seen as an attractive alternative to conventional discrete-based inverters technique for low power ac drives in particular such as washing machines refrigerators and air-conditioners. Fairchild-IPM newly developed in order to provide the advantages of the lowest cost and better performance is discussed and its specification is given.

  • In this paper, the guaranteed stability margins of LQ optimal regulators for a performance index with cross-product terms are suggested in the discrete-time case. An example for the LQ optimal regulator of an inverted pendulum system is given to demonstrate the validity of the suggested stability margins.

  • This paper presents an approach for determining the discrete reduced-order models for largescale system by using matrix sign function. We define projection operators based on the matrix sign function and develop the algorithm for model-reduction by using them. Simulation studies show that the proposed altgorithm is very useful.

  • In this paper, an energy harvesting sensor network system is modeled and simulated by using the DEVS (Discrete Event System Specification) formalism. The system is composed of a sink (master) node, which is battery or mains powered, and a set of sensor (slave) nodes, each of which harvests ambient energy and converts it into electrical energy. For simulation, (i) the behavior of energy harvesting and storing circuits of the slave node is partitioned into a set of piecewise continuous segments and then each segment is represented as a discrete state; (ii) the interaction among the master node and components of the slave node is investigated preciously; and (iii) the investigated result is modeled and simulated by using the DEVS formalism.

  • A discrete system has interpreted by using the network model, and PERT network is one of these methods. For the purpose of analysing the real system, it is necessary to measure the parameter of the real system. And system identification problem is to assume the parameter of a real system when we get to know the system model, the input data and output data. System identification method has been only developed to a system of which a structure has expressed a differential equation or a polynomial expression. But it has been scarcely developed yet in that case of network model. The aim of this paper is to examine a changes when new system is introduced to the present system. The changes are as follows : how the present system will be changed, when the changes will be happened. In this paper, genetic algorithm is used to assume the parameter.

  • We propose a robust tuning method of the quadratic criterion based iterative learning control(Q-ILC) algorithm for discrete-time linear batch system. First, we establish the frequency domain representation for batch systems. Next, a robust convergence condition is derived in the frequency domain. Based on this condition, we propose to optimize the weighting matrices such that the upper bound of the robustness measure is minimized. Through numerical simulation, it is shown that the designed learning filter restores robustness under significant model uncertainty.

  • In this paper, a pole assignment problem in the unit disk for a linear discrete system is discussed. The analysis is based on the Luenberger's canonical form and Gershgorin's disk. The proposed method for pole assignment is convenient for a linear time invariant discrete system.

  • We consider a queueing system under overload control to support bursty traffic. The queueing system under overload control is modelled by MMBP/D1/K queue with two thresholds on buffer. Arrival of customer is assumed to be a Markov-modulated Bernoulli process (MMBP) by considering burstiness of traffic. Analysis is done in discrete-time case. Using the generating function method, we obtain the stationary queue length distribution. Finally, the loss probability and the waiting time distribution of a customer are given.
