  • In this case, a CAD-CAM complete denture that can be easily remanufactured and reduced the number of visits was decided in consideration of the fact that it was difficult to visit the dental hospital and many existing dentures were lost because the patient was inpatient in a nursing hospital. In order to reflect the shape, vertical dimension, and maxillomandibular relationship of the existing provisional dentures adapted by the patient to the fabrication of the final denture, the existing provisional dentures were scanned and closed mouth impression was taken with the printed individual tray. After digital facebow transfer using UTS CAD and arranging artificial teeth in CAD software, the maxillary and mandibular complete dentures were fabricated by milling the denture base and artificial teeth at once with the monolithic disc.

  • Micromirrors have a wide range of applications such as optical switches, laser scanners, and digital projection displays. Due to their low performances and high costs, however, practical applications of micromirrors are quite limited. At present micromirrors demand not only a better design but also a simple fabrication process. In this study a twisting-type micromirror that can be driven by two thermal bimorph actuators bending in opposite directions is designed from electro-thermo-mechanical theories and fabricated through a simple MEMS process. Each actuator consists of $SiO_2$ and gold thin-film layers. Simplified analytical model has been built to optimize the performance of micromirror. Due to unexpected resistance increase of metal film and alignment mismatch during fabrication process, experimental rotation angles of micromirrors are about $11^{\circ}$ at applied voltages less than 0.6V. From numerical simulation and analytical studies, however, the next design can provide rotation angles over $20^{\circ}$ at the same applied voltage.

  • With increasing demands for large-scale micro-optical components in the field of digital display, the establishment of large-scale fabrication technology fur polymeric patterns has become a priority. The starting point of any polymer replication process is the mold, and the mold often has flat surface. However, It is very hard to replicate large-scale micro patterns using the flat mold, because the cost of large-scale flat mold was very high, and some uniformity and releasing problems were often occurred in large scale flat molding process. In this study, a UV roll imprinting system to overcome the financial and fabrication issues of large-scale pattern replication process was designed and constructed. As a practical example of the system, a lenticular lens with radius of curvature of $223{\mu}m$ and pitch of $280{\mu}m$, which was used to provide wide viewing angle in projection TV, was designed and fabricated. The roll stamper was fabricated using direct machining process of aluminum roll base. Finally, the shape accuracy and uniformity of roll imprinted lenticular lens sheet were measured and analyzed.

  • Additive Manufacturing defines the fabrication of objects by successive consolidation of materials, layer by layer, according to a three-dimensional design. The numerous technologies available today were recently standardized into seven categories based on the general method. Each technology has its own set of advantages and limitations. Though it very much depends on the field of application, major assets of additive manufacturing compared to conventional processing routes are the ability to readily offer complexity (in terms of intricate shape and customization) and significant reduction of waste. On the other hand, additive manufacturing often suffers of relatively low production rates. Anyhow, additive manufacturing technologies is being given outstanding attention. In particular, metal additive manufacturing emerges as of great significance in industries like aerospace, automotive and tooling. The trend progresses toward full production of high value finished products.

  • Hybrid Imprint Lithography (HIL) is proposed where photolithography and imprinting processes are employed. Fabrication step of multilevel or three dimensional patterns is suggested. The method of controlling residual layer thickness after imprinting is developed. The thickness of residual layer changes lineally with imprinting time and can be controlled. Polymer patterns fabricated by this HIL is demonstrated.

  • Micro-pads made of PDMS(polydimethylsiloane) can be mechanical shock or vibration absorber because of its contractibility. Fabrication of micro-pads and techniques of separation from substrate and attachment to new substrate are developed. Three micron thick PDMS pads were fabricated by imprinting lithography.

  • The diagrid structural system for constructing tall buildings is a recent invention. Debuting in 2004 with the construction of the Swiss Re Tower in London, this aesthetically driven structural system has centered the perfecting of its technology on the development of the nodes that form its innovative deviation from standard steel tall framing methods. The paper examines variations in node design, understanding the linked dependence the modularity and the choice to expose the steel in the building, as well as on advances in digital modelling that allow an increasingly seamless line of communication from the engineering design through to the actual fabrication of the nodes. This advanced design and fabrication technology will be seen to have resulted in the expanded use of the technical term "node" to inform the design and construction of a range of other applications in the structuring of tall buildings, including the use of steel castings.

  • Low power bridge type micro gas sensors were fabricated by micro machining technology with TMAH (Tetra Methyl Ammonium Hydroxide) solution. The sensing devices with different heater materials such as metal and poly-silicon were obtained using CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) compatible process. The tellurium films as a sensing layer were deposited on the micro machined substrate using shadow silicon mask. The low power micro gas sensors showed high sensitivity to NO with high speed. The pure tellurium film used micro gas sensor showed good sensitivity than transition metal (Pt, Ti) used tellurium film.

  • This paper introduces a new design and fabrication technology of 28 GHz low-cost up and down converter modules for digital microwave radios, The design of the converter module is based on unit circuit blocks, which are to be characterized using a special test fixture. Based on the cascade analysis of the module the 28 GHz up and down converter modules have been designed and implemented. The measured module performance agrees with the cascade analysis. New components such as a tapped edge-coupled filter and a new Ka-band waveguide-to-microstrip transition, which are less sensitive to fabrication tolerances, have been used in the module implementation.
