  • The focus of this study is on the diffusion and aspects of Yoenji make-up in China. The diffusion of Yoenji make-up into China was achieved by Zhuang-Kun's departure for the West of China, after Emperor Moo of Han Dynasty defeated the Huns (B.C. 121). The Yoenji make-up is basically used as a unique sign and from the result of excessive development from the facial beauty point in accordance with luxurious Court culture and opening door of culture. It can diversely express kinds, names, ways, types and patterns, places and bodily parts, the colors of materials for use, and time zones of a make-up.

  • Micro-cracks in crystalline silicon wafer often result in wafer breakage in solar wafer manufacturing, and also their existence may lead to electrical failure in post fabrication inspection. Therefore, the reliable detection of micro-cracks is of importance in the photovoltaic industry. In this paper, an experimental method to select optimal parameters in anisotropic diffusion filter is proposed. It can reliably detect micro-cracks by the distinct extension of boundary as well as noise reduction in near-infrared image patterns of micro-cracks. Its performance is verified by experiments of several type cracks machined.

  • Linear stability analysis of radiating counterflow diffusion flames is numerically conducted to examine the instability characteristics of cellular patterns. Lewis number is assumed to be 0.5 to consider diffusional-thermal instability. Near kinetic limit extinction regime, growth rates of disturbances always have real eigen-values and neutral stability condition of planar disturbances perfectly falls into quasi-steady extinction. Cellular instability of disturbance with transverse direction occurs just before steady extinction. However, near radiative limit extinction regime, the eigenvalues are complex and pulsating instability of planar disturbances appears prior to steady extinction. Cellular instability occurs before the onset of planar pulsating instability, which means the extension of flammability.

  • Metabolic encephalopathy is a critical condition that can be challenging to diagnose. Imaging provides early clues to confirm clinical suspicions and plays an important role in the diagnosis, assessment of the response to therapy, and prognosis prediction. Diffusion-weighted imaging is a sensitive technique used to evaluate metabolic encephalopathy at an early stage. Metabolic encephalopathies often involve the deep regions of the gray matter because they have high energy requirements and are susceptible to metabolic disturbances. Understanding the imaging patterns of various metabolic encephalopathies can help narrow the differential diagnosis and improve the prognosis of patients by initiating proper treatment regimen early.

  • This study analyzed the disparity between the supply and demand of information demand and information provision generated among information providers(agricultural researchers) and information adopters(farmers), the two subjects of the local innovation diffusion process, with a focus on the contents and methods of sharing information and according to individual innovation diffusion pattern. In information provision, the characteristics of the contents of information in terms of their temporal necessity and effective period were more important than the field to which the contents of information belonged. In addition, the selection and strategic provision of an information provision method appropriate to each pattern according to the contents of information were proposed as a way of resolving farmers'information demand and strengthening their links to experiment stations. According to the analysis, information provision methods such as the limited use of some patterns in methods of providing documents, provision of production information using experiment field, and eco-friendly agricultural information to all types through regular study group sessions, search for plans for using ICT, and supplementary and interconnected composition of individual information provision methods were applicable in a complex manner according to the situation and management format, and the standard here was the contents of information.

  • The diffusional-thermal instability of diffusion flames in the premixed-flame regime is studied in a constant-density two-dimensional counterflow diffusion-flame configuration, to investigate the instability mechanism by which periodic wrinkling, travelling or pulsating of the reaction sheet can occur. Attention is focused on flames with small departures of the Lewis number from unity and with small values of the stoichiometric mixture fraction, so that the premixed-flame regime can be employed for activation-energy asymptotics. Cellular patterns will occur near quasisteady extinction when the Lewis number of the more completely consumed reactant is less than a critical value( ~ =0.7). Parametric studies for the instability onset conditions show that flames with smaller values of the Lewis number and stoichiometric mixture fraction and with larger values of the Zel'dovich number tend to be more unstable. For Lewis number greater than unity, near-extinction flame are found to exhibit either travelling instability or pulsating instability.

  • Undesirable convective flow in an NMR tube inhibits the accurate measurement of diffusion coefficients by NMR spectroscopy. To minimize the convection effects, various methods have been suggested, and it has been known that the use of sample rotation can be useful. However, it has not been clearly examined that the convection suppressing effect of the sample rotation under the different spinning speeds. In this study, the relation between convective flow and the sample rotation was investigated using PGSE NMR diffusion experiments to reveal the feasibility for controlling the convective flow in an NMR tube by sample rotation itself. The viscosity effect was also examined using solvents with four different viscosities, acetone-$d_6$ chloroform-d, pyridine-$d_5$, and $D_2O$. The sample rotation showed apparent convection suppressing effects at all temperature range for the low viscosity solvents, acetone-$d_6$ and chloroform-d, even at the faster than 5 Hz spinning rate. The similar patterns were also observed for pyridine-$d_5$ and $D_2O$, which have higher viscosity. This effect was observed even at high temperatures where convective flow arises conspicuously.

  • Recently, a wide variety of research on the knowledge-based industries, which are considered a key area of social science research, has been conducted. In this light, this study examines a case of knowledge diffusion taken from the IT service field. The IT service industry has been considered difficult to diffuse due to its unique technological regimes and sophisticated market demand. In particular, the established public service systems have limited markets and encompass national characteristics, thereby making their international diffusion difficult. However, despite these limitations, the automated customs system ASYCUDA has been distributed successfully and is now operating in about 100 countries, making the case very unusual. Using various industrial innovation models, and an analysis of lead markets, with regard to ASYCUDA, this research examines patterns of technological learning activities by actors, characteristics of the lead markets, and paths of technology transfer. The findings indicate that when active technology providers attempt to streamline and standardize the technology to make it suitable for the characteristics of the initial technology application areas(lead markets), this helps to diffuse the technology to passive recipients and the surrounding nations. The findings also confirm that south-south cooperation in the acquired technologies was of considerable help in sharing knowledge among the passive technology recipients, and that the active technology providers' programmed, well-organized technology assistance was a key driving force behind technology transfer and diffusion between the surrounding nations.

  • Ti:LiNbO$_3$ optical waveguides have been fabricated by Ti-diffusion in wet oxygen atmosphere. The fabrication conditions of furnace temperature, diffusion time and bubbler temperature were 105$0^{\circ}C$, 8 hours and 9$0^{\circ}C$, respectively and Ti thickness was varied from 700$\AA$ to 1500$\AA$. In this paper, the nearfield patterns, mode sizes (hirizontal/vertical) and insertion loss of waveguides were discussed at wavelength 1550 nm ad function of Ti thickness. With the planar waveguide, the effective index change and diffusion depth were calculated at 632.8nm using the prism coupling method. From these results, the best Ti thickness in our conditions seems like to by 1200$\AA$~1300$\AA$.
