  • In this paper, we consider the effect of diffraction due to the finite-sized aperture and propose the new correction method of errors in measurements of attenuation coefficient owing to the diffraction effect. In the existing correction method, we obtained the attenuation coefficient after correct the spectrum at each depth. However, this paper obtain the attenuation coefficient using lg-spectral difference approach and then correct errors. As a proposed method is not correction for the spectrum at each depth but the difference spectrum, we reduce the calculation. Also the correction is performed through the total frequency range, the accurate attenuation coefficient in whole bandwidth is produced.

  • 이 연구에서는 X-선 회절법으로 측정한 수소결합의 거리를 보정하는 두 가지 방법을 제시하였다 O…O 거리가 2.5 $\AA$ 이상인 수소결합의 경우는 저온에서 측정한 중성자 회절에 의한 수소결합 데이터를 이용하여 얻은 최적화 곡선 식 d(O-H)=exp((2.173-d(O…O))/0.138)+0.958을 이용하여 수소결합 거리를 보정한다. O…O 거리가 2.5 $\AA$ 이하의 짧은 수소결합의 경우는 결합원자가 최적화 방법(valence-least-squares)을 이용하는 것이 효과적이다. X-선 회절분석으로 얻은 긴 O…O 거리를 갖는 분자간 수소결합의 경우는 수소결합의 거리보정을 해주어야 한다.

  • This paper, the last part of these three companion papers treated the electromagnetic diffraction by a dielectric wedge, presents the correction to the physical optics approcomation by the sheet currents of the Neumann expansion. Those expansion coefficients obtained by solving dual series equation amenable to simple numerical calculation may provide the asymprotically corrected solution. The validity of this result, satisfying both the edge condition near the tip of the dielectric wedge and the boundary condition along dielectric interfaces, is assured by approach of the corrected diffraction pattern to that of a perfectly conducting wedge for large permittivity of dielectric wedge.

Diffraction Corrections for Second Harmonic Beam Fields and Effects on the Nonlinearity Parameter Evaluation

  • The nonlinearity parameter is frequently measured as a sensitive indicator in damaged material characterization or tissue harmonic imaging. Several previous studies have employed the plane wave solution, and ignored the effects of beam diffraction when measuring the non-linearity parameter ${\beta}$. This paper presents a multi-Gaussian beam approach to explicitly derive diffraction corrections for fundamental and second harmonics under quasilinear and paraxial approximation. Their effects on the nonlinearity parameter estimation demonstrate complicated dependence of ${\beta}$ on the transmitter-receiver geometries, frequency, and propagation distance. The diffraction effects on the non-linearity parameter estimation are important even in the nearfield region. Experiments are performed to show that improved ${\beta}$ values can be obtained by considering the diffraction effects.

  • A complete form of physical optics solution to the diffraction of electromagnetic waves by a dielectric wedge with arbitrary dielectric constant and general wedge angle is obtained for an incident plane wave with any angle. Based on the formulation of dual integral equation in the spectral domain, the physical optics solution is constructed by sum of geometrical optics term including multiple reflection inside the wedge and the edge diffracted field, of which diffraction functions are represented in a quite simple form as series of cotangent functions weighted by the Fresnel reflection coefficients. Since diffraction patterns of physical optics are discontinous at dielectric interfaces, Part II and III of these three companion papers will be concerned with correction to the error of the physical optics approximation.

전자회절을 이용한 격자상수의 측정 정확도 향상 (Accuracy Improvement of Lattice Parameters Measured from Electron Diffraction Data)

  • For quantitative analysis of nano-crystal structure, we reported the accuracy improvement method of lattice parameters measured from electron diffraction. For calculation of Au lattice parameters used as a standard crystal structure, it was considered two different acquisition methods (detector and enegy-filter) and three different calculation methods (conventional, least-square and regression fit). As a result, the measurement reliability could be enhanced by using CCD camera which gives higher performance, while energy-filtering did not affect the improvement the camera constant accuracy. Also, the accuracy of lattice parameters could be improved up to $10^{-4}$ order by regression fitting with correction formula. Finally, it is expected that the combination of regression fitting and intensity extraction from energy-filtered precession electron diffraction gives a solution of quantitative structure analysis for unknown nano-crystals.

  • 주기적인 홀로그램을 제작하기 위한 일반적인 CGH(computer generated hologram)의 설계 프로그램은 회절각 공간에서 설정한 모델 방정식을 사용하고 있다. 따라서 비교적 큰 회절각을 사용하는 경우 평면에서 관찰되는 이미지는 설계와 큰 차이가 생기게 된다. 이를 보정하기 위하여 이러한 오차의 발생원인을 회절이론 분석을 통하여 모델 방정식을 만들었으며 이를 실험을 통하여 검증하였다. 또한 회절각 기반의 기존 프로그램을 교정하지 않으면서 이러한 오차를 보정하기 위한 설계 방법을 제시한다.

  • 격자의 구조가 간단하고 격자의 대조비가 낮은 SBC 시스템 구성을 위한 무편광 유전체 다층박막 회절격자를 제작하였다. 제작된 박막의 굴절률과 두께 오차로 인하여, 제작된 회절격자의 회절 효율은 설계보다 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 오차를 발생시킨 원인을 분석하고, 제작된 회절격자 위에 추가의 코팅을 통하여 회절 효율 보정이 가능함을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과를 확인하기 위하여 제작된 회절격자 위에 Ta2O5 추가층을 제작하고 회절격자를 측정한 결과 회절 효율 보상이 이루어졌으며, 최고 91.7%의 무편광 회절 효율을 얻었다.

라즈베리파이를 활용한 블루투스 Smart Ready 구현 및 RSSI 오차 보정 (Bluetooth Smart Ready implementation and RSSI Error Correction using Raspberry)

  • In order to efficiently collect data, it is essential to locate the facilities and analyze the movement data. The current technology for location collection can collect data using a GPS sensor, but GPS has a strong straightness and low diffraction and reflectance, making it difficult for indoor positioning. In the case of indoor positioning, the location is determined by using wireless network technologies such as Wifi, but there is a problem with low accuracy as the error range reaches 20 to 30 m. In this paper, using BLE 4.2 built in Raspberry Pi, we implement Bluetooth Smart Ready. In detail, a beacon was produced for Advertise, and an experiment was conducted to support the serial port for data transmission/reception. In addition, advertise mode and connection mode were implemented at the same time, and a 3-count gradual algorithm and a quadrangular positioning algorithm were implemented for Bluetooth RSSI error correction. As a result of the experiment, the average error was improved compared to the first correction, and the error rate was also improved compared to before the correction, confirming that the error rate for position measurement was significantly improved.

  • An analysis of the non-homogeneous term involved in the free surface condition for second order wave diffraction on a pair of cylinders is presented. In the computations of the nonlinear loads on offshore structures, the most challenging task is the computation of the free surface integral. The main contribution to this integrand is due to the non-homogeneous term present in the free surface condition for second order scattered potential. In this paper, the free surface condition for the second order scattered potential is derived. Under the assumption of large spacing between the two cylinders, waves scattered by one cylinder may be replaced in the vicinity of the other cylinder by equivalent plane waves together with non-planner correction terms. Then solving a complex matrix equation, the first order scattered potential is derived and since the free surface term for second order scattered potential can be expressed in terms of the first order potentials, the free surface term can be obtained using the knowledge of first order potentials only.
