J지역 치과위생사의 직무스트레스 요인 분석 (An Analysis on Factors Related to the Job Satisfaction of Dental Hygienists at J Region)

  • 본 연구는 2006년 7월 24일부터 9월 24일까지 전라북도의 구강진료기관에 근무하는 치과위생사를 대상으로 설문지를 이용하여 우편조사를 통해 조사하였다. 설문지는 총 220부를 배부해 180부(81.8%)가 회수되었으며 그 중 응답이 미흡하여 통계처리가 곤란한 설문지 24부를 제외한 156부를 SPSS(Ver.12.0) 프로그램을 이용하여 통계 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 치과위생사의 직무스트레스 전체 평균은 5점 만점에서 2.89로 나타났으며, 각 요인별로 살펴보면 부적절한 대우가 3.34로 가장 높게 나타났고, 업무량 과중요인은 3.11, 열악한 근무환경요인은 3.01, 전문직 갈등요인 2.63, 동료 갈등요인이 2.38의 순으로 나타났다. 2. 치과위생사의 일반적인 특성에 따라 직무스트레스를 살펴본 결과, 연령에 따른 직무스트레스는 전문직 갈등요인 중 23세 미만에서 2.98로 가장 높은 스트레스를 받고 있었고(p < 0.01), 결혼여부에 따른 직무스트레스는 부적절한 대우요인(p < 0.05)과 전문직 갈등요인(p < 0.01), 업무량 과중요인(p < 0.05)에서 미혼이 기혼보다 높게 나타났다. 현 근무지에 따른 직무스트레스는 전문직 갈등요인에서 개인치과의원이 2.66, 치과대학(부속)병원 2.52, 치과병원 2.10 순으로 스트레스를 받고 있었으며(p < 0.05), 총 근무경력에 따른 직무스트레스는 전문직 갈등요인에서 1~3년 미만이 3.00으로 가장 높았고, 10년 이상에서 2.45로 가장 낮았다(p < 0.001). 또한 최종학력에 따른 직무스트레스는 열악한 근무환경요인(p < 0.05)에서 대학 졸업이 3.06으로 대학교 졸업 이상 2.58보다 높은 스트레스를 받고 있었으며, 월 평균 소득에 따른 직무스트레스는 부적절한 대우요인과 전문직 갈등요인에서 70~99만원이 각각3.56과 2.85로 스트레스를 가장 높게 받고 있는 것으로 나타났다(p < 0.01). 3. 전반적인 직무스트레스와 이직의향의 상관관계분석에서 전반적인 스트레스는 부적절한 대우요인(r = 0.382), 전문직 갈등요인(r = 0.285), 열악한 근무환경요인 (r = 0.303), 동료 간 갈등요인(r = 0.233), 업무량 과중요인(r=0.262)들에 의해 영향을 받고 있었으며, 스트레스 요인들이 높을수록 이직의향도 높게 나타났고, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p < 0.01). 4. 각 요인들이 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 직무스트레스 요인을 독립 변 수로 이직의향을 종속변수로 하여 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 치과위생사의 직무스트레스에 부적절한 대우요인(p < 0.001)이 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 다음으로 전문직 갈등요인(p0.05), 열악한 근무환경요인(p < 0.05) 순으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 스트레스 요인이 이직의향에 미치는 영향에 대한 설명력은 22.2%였다.

치과의료인력에 대한 신뢰도 관련요인 분석 (Analysis of the Related Factors of Dental Manpower's Beliefs)

  • This study aims to discuss plans to improve the satisfaction level of dental services by understanding characters of beliefs about dental manpower and analyzing its related factors. Data were collected by structured questionnaire whose subjects consist of 1607 persons from 13 years old to 69 years old, who have ever experienced dental institution. Both univariate and biovariate analyses were employed to analyze level of dentist and dental hygienist's beliefs and its related factors and the results gained from the surveys and search are as follows. 1. Among the questions to measure dentist's beliefs, 'Respect for patients' was evaluated as the best, and the lowest items were 'not-hopeful explanation about prognosis of dental treatment', 'satisfactory explanation' and 'whether treatments are stopped by pains or not'. In addition, among questions to measure dental hygienist's beliefs, 'kindly welcome' and 'detailed explanations about medical directions' are the items evaluated as the best and 'notice of waiting time' marked the lowest evaluation. 2. The factors related to beliefs about dentists were age, ache experiences, dental fear, self-reported dental health status, frequence and primary purposes of the visits dental institutions, elapsed time from recently visited, present of favorite dental clinic to visit regularly. 3. The factors related to beliefs about dental hygienists were age, education, occupation, ache experiences, frequence and primary purposes of the visits dental institutions, periodic check of teeth, present of favorite dental clinic to visit regularly. 4. Direct painful, painful treatment experience under insufficient local anesthetic, indirect painful experience and dental fear were positively correlated. And the relationships were positive between ache experiences, dental fear and self-reported dental health status, but relationships were negative between ache experiences, dental fear and dentist! dental hygienist's beliefs.

치위생학과 학생들의 창의와 인성에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 융합연구 (Convergence Study on the Factors Affecting Creativity and Personality of Students in Dental Hygiene department.)

  • 치위생학과 학생들의 창의와 인성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 한다. 2018년 5월 14일부터 2018년 6월 1일까지 광주광역시에 있는 S 대학교에 재학중인 치위생학과 114명 대상으로 시행하였다. 메타인지의 전체 평균은 3.26점으로 나타났다. 연구변인에 따른 차이를 살펴보면, 전공 만족도의 만족 3.36점이 보통/불만족 3.16점과 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 숙달접근목표의 전체 평균은 3.26점으로 나타났다. 연구변인에 따른 차이를 살펴보면, 전공 만족도의 만족이 3.38점이 보통/불만족 3.14점과 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). 자율적 교육풍토의 전체 평균은 3.08점으로 나타났다. 연구변인에 따른 차이를 살펴보면, 전공 만족도의 만족 3.17점이 보통/불만족 2.98점과 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.01). 창의 인성의 전체평균은 3.37점으로 나타났다. 연구변인에 따른 차이를 살펴보면, 전공 만족도의 만족이 3.47점이 보통/불만족 3.26점과 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.01). 대학생의 창의 인성에 영향을 미치는 요인은 메타인지와 숙달접근목표로, 메타인지와 숙달접근목표 점수가 높을수록 창의 인성이 높게 나타나 주요 요인으로 확인되었다.

치위생과정에서의 일부 프로그램 적용에 따른 환자의 구강건강지식, 인식, 실천과 만족도 조사 (A Study on Oral Health Knowledge, Recognition, Practice and Satisfaction of Patients by Applying a Targeted Program within a Dental Hygiene Process)

  • 본 연구는 치과 임상의 예방진료실에서 임상예방진료를 받은 환자의 구강건강인식도, 지식도, 실천도, 만족도를 비교분석하였다. 구강건강지식, 인식, 실천은 임상예방진료 전후 유의한 차이가 있었다. 임상예방진료프로그램 중 가장 만족도가 높은 것은 계획단계의 개별 예방계획과 실행단계의 PTC였고, 그 다음으로 평가단계의 평가결과 알림이었다. 만족 이유는 의료진이 친절해서가 가장 높았고, 재방문 점수는 10점 만점에 9.34점, 지인 추천 점수는 9.75점이었다. 지인 추천과 정의 상관관계가 있는 것은 임상예방진료프로그램 중 치아확인, 사진촬영, 계획, PMTC, TBI, 평가였다. 위의 결과를 통해 치위생과정을 근거한 임상예방진료프로그램은 환자의 구강건강에 대한 지식, 인식, 실천에 긍정적으로 효과가 있었고, 임상예방진료프로그램에 대한 만족도가 높아 치과 재방문과 지인 추천에 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 따라서 치위생과정을 근거한 임상예방진료프로그램을 예방진료실에서 적극 활용하여 널리 적용되기를 바란다.

커뮤니티케어 기반의 방문구강건강관리 중재 수혜자의 프로그램 운영 관련 인식 및 태도: 근거이론적 접근 (Awareness and attitudes regarding oral care intervention program based on community care for older adults at home : focusing on the grounded theory)

  • Objectives: This study is based on a visiting oral health care intervention program in the community care. This qualitative study was conducted through in-depth interviews to identify awareness and attitudes regarding intervention program among older adults. Methods: The research team visited the homes of the target older adults and conducted in-depth interviews for approximately an hour using a semi-structured questionnaire. The collected voice recordings were transcribed using Clova Note, and AI program by Naver. Using the 'Word Cloud Generator 3.7' program, words of high importance and interest from interview answers were extracted, visualized, and analyzed. Results: Participating older adults acknowledged that their quality of life related to oral health could be improved by increasing the level of oral health awareness and oral health knowledge through the intervention program. In addition, the older adults indicated that their oral hygiene management ability improved compared to before the intervention through expert oral hygiene management and oral health education. Further, as the level of oral health knowledge increased, so too did satisfaction with the intervention program increase. Conclusions: The intervention program for visiting oral health care showed a positive effect on the awareness and attitude of older adults. Thus, it is suggested that education for continuous competency enhancement of dental hygienists and multidisciplinary education for the improvement of general health and quality of life of older adults should be promoted.

치과내원 환자의 치과공포 감소를 위한 중재법 적용 (Intervention for Reducing Dental Fear and Anxiety of Dental Patients)

  • 본 연구는 서울시 일개 치과의원에 내원한 환자를 대상으로 치과공포 수준을 측정하고, 치과공포 수준 감소를 위한 중재법에 대해 환자가 요구하는 방법을 적용한 후 치과공포 중재법의 효과를 측정하였다. 개입한 치과공포 중재법에 대해서는 전체적으로 '도움이 된다(3.57점)'는 의견이었고, 항목별로는 '어떤 진료인지 미리 설명해 준다(4.38점)', '진료 중에 환자가 손을 들면 언제든 치료를 잠시 멈추어 준다(4.35점)', '진료 중 통증이 발생할 것 같으면 미리 말해준다(4.24점)', '의료진이 부드럽고 웃는 표정을 한다(4.06점)' 순으로 도움이 된다고 하였다. 치과공포 중재법 적용 전과 후의 전체적인 만족도는 각각 4.37점과 4.35점으로 높은 수준이었으나, 적용 후 미미하게 감소하였으며 이는 치과치료 항목과 밀접한 연관이 있을 것으로 사료된다. 치과공포 수준을 감소하기 위해서는 환자의 치과공포 수준 뿐 아니라 치과공포 중재를 위한 요구도를 파악하여 이에 맞는 개입방법을 적용하여 주는 것이 효과적이며, 이에 대한 치과의료 인력에 대한 교육과 매뉴얼 개발이 필요하리라 생각된다.

치과위생사의 임파워먼트와 직무몰입.조직몰입과의 관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Relation to Empowerment of Dental hygienist and Immersion of Duty and Devotion of Organization)

  • This study analyzed and investigated of positivism to set up a hypothesis with a model of study based on a theoretical consideration to analyze a structural empowerment, a psychological empowerment, an immersion of duty, and a devotion of organization. which made the dental hygienists an object of study of investigation and analyzation in order to understand relation to elements that have an effect on a business result, effect and degree in a dental hygienist's organization. The results of positive analysis in the study are as follows. A psychological empowerment is influenced by a level of satisfaction for their duty, educational level, and types of main duty. A structural empowerment is influenced by a level of satisfaction for their duty, total years of work, a level of salary, type of work place. Organizational devotion is influenced by the structural empowerment, total year of work, type of workplace, and a level of satisfaction for their duty. Devotion for their duty is influenced by the psychological empowerment, total year of work, type of main duty, main duty that they want in the future, and specialization for amin duty.

치과위생사의 근로생활의 질(QWL)에 관한 연구 (A study of quality of working life to dental hygienist's)

  • Objectives : Dental hygienist's work satisfaction and stress affect the overall quality of work life(QWL). Therefore, this research is intended to suggest fundamental data to improve QWL by finding out characteristics of each work satisfaction and stress element. To this end, a total of 327 dental hygienists working at general hospitals, university hospitals, dental hospitals and dental clinics across Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon were surveyed. Results of survey are as follows. Methods : The collected data were analyzed by using an SPSS 12.0 statistical program, obtaining the following results. The collected data conducted a questionnaire survey for 327 dental hygienists who work at the hospitals, university hospitals, dental hospitals, and dental clinics located at Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Incheon district from January until March, 2009, and drew the conclusions as follows. Result : 1. Demographic characteristics, income from 1.5 to 1.99 million were the whole lot, more than 2 million to less than 1.5 million was similar. Marital status Married Unmarried higher than the atheist religion, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, and other, respectively. Classification by level of education in the college graduate, university graduate, graduate diploma, respectively. 2. Are working in a job-related characteristics of dentistry, dental hospital, general and university hospital, respectively. The making in position, Mount, contractor, responsible, senior, was an intern in the order. The five-day workweek whether working at night and is not going to care whether the conduct was similar. Classification of working hours and 8 hours, 8 hours, 8 hours or less orderly, and total of less than 1-3 years of clinical experience, 5 years, less than one year, less than 3-5 years, respectively. 3. There comes out a significant difference according to age, income, position, gross clinical experience, and whether to put night shift into practice in job stability in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 4. There comes out a significant difference according to marital status, one's place of work, position, whether to put a five-day workweek into practice in work environment and benefits package in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics (p<.05). 5. There comes out a significant difference according to age, marital status, income, position, and gross clinical experience in education & training and benefits packages in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 6. There comes out a significant difference according to whether to put night medical treatment into practice in social usefulness in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 7. There comes out a significant difference according to marital status, income, one's place of work, gross clinical experience, work hours, and whether to put a five-day workweek into practice in leisure activity in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 8. There comes out a significant difference according to income, one's place of work, and position in wage level in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 9. There was no significant difference in all items related to human relations and free communication in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p>.05). Conclusions : It is necessary to analyze factors related to work satisfaction and stress in order to improve dental hygienist's quality of work life. Hospitals must support them systematically and institutionally and related organizations must conduct practical research.

일부 특수학교 교직원의 구강관리실태 (A study on the state of oral care among some special school personnels)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the state of oral health care among special school personnels in an attempt to provide some information on the improvement of the oral health care of students with disabilities who would be under the first hand influence of school personnels. Methods : The subjects in this study were personnels who were selected by random selection in five different special schools located in the city of Jeonju, North Jeolla Province. A self-administered survey was conducted in person from July 5 to 14 after the purpose of this study was explained. Results : 1. Concerning their general characteristics, the level of oral health knowledge was high in the personnel whose career is 5 years more, and the younger personnels had a better oral health knowledge, and the men were more knowledgeable than the women. 2. As to oral health education experience, the rate of the respondents who ever received oral health education stood at 35.3 percent. In relation to the frequency of oral health education, the biggest group that accounted for 58.2 percent received that education once. As for the route of education, the largest group that represented 52.7 percent received that education at dental hospitals or clinics. In relation to satisfaction with oral health education, the greatest group that accounted for 38.5 percent were dissatisfied with that education. 3. As for an intention of receiving oral health education in the future, the biggest group that accounted for 60.9 percent intended to receive that education if they would have free time, and the largest group that represented 47.7 percent believed that oral health education should be conducted by dental hygienists. 4. Concerning their general characteristics, the level of oral health promotion behavior according to age in both bushing and supplies of oral health care was high in forties-1.89 point and 3.33 point, and that in regular visit to a dental clinic was the highest in twenties for 2.58 point, and that in dietary control was the highest in twenties for 2.59 point. 5. Their oral health knowledge had a significant positive correlation to their toothbrushing, regular dental clinic visit and dietary control that were the subfactors of oral health promotion behavior. 6. As for the impact of oral health promotion behavior on oral health knowledge, toothbrushing exerted the greatest influence on that(${\beta}$=0.306, p<0.001). Conclusions : Appropriate institutional measures should be taken to let dental hygienists who are expert in oral health care provide incremental oral health care for students and adults with disabilities in educational institutions and facilities for the disabled, and the development of oral health education programs is urgently required to offer systematic oral health education for not only students with disabilities but their teachers and guardians.

Effects of Critical Thinking and Communication Skills on the Problem-Solving Ability of Dental Hygiene Students

  • Background: This study aimed to investigate the effects of critical thinking and good communication skills on the problem-solving abilities of dental hygiene students. Methods: A total of 508 dental hygiene students were convenience-sampled from 3 universities. Results: The results revealed that critical thinking had the highest intellectual fairness score of 3.60, and systematicity was the lowest at 3.19. The values for communication skills were high in reaction, social adequacy, and concentration, with an average of 3.65. Problem-solving abilities were in the following order: clarification of the problem, seeking solutions, and decision making. According to general characteristics, more extroverted personalities possessed higher levels of critical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities (p<0.01). Critical thinking scores were high (p=0.016) in students who responded that peer relationship was difficult; however, their communication skills were the lowest (p<0.001). Additionally, problem-solving abilities were highest among students who reported a difficult peer relationship (p=0.001). The higher the satisfaction with dental hygiene academics, the higher the critical thinking, communication skill, and problem-solving ability (p<0.001). Critical thinking showed a high positive correlation with variables in the following order: clarification of the problem, performing the solutions, seeking solutions, decision making, and evaluation and reflection. The communication skills were also related to these variables listed above (p<0.01). With critical thinking, confidence, watchfulness, intellectual passion/curiosity, sound skepticism, objectivity, and systematicity all influenced the problem-solving ability. Conclusion: Communication skills were influenced by noise control, putting on the other's shoe, social tensions, and efficiency, which affected the problem-solving ability. Dental clinics require dental hygienists to have critical thinking to make analytical judgments and effective communication skills to solve human relation problems with patients and care-givers. Therefore, these skills should be developed in dental hygiene students to improve their problem-solving abilities.
