Objectives:Cutaneous angiosarcoma is an infrequent but aggressive neoplasm involving the skin of the face and scalp. Unfamiliarity with the clinical manifestations of cutaneous angiosarcoma frequently leads to misdiagnosis and delay in treatment. Complete surgical resection requires the performance of preoperative staging biopsies to determine the true extent of the neoplasm. Intraoperative frozen section analysis to determine the adequacy of the surgical resection is unreliable due to the high false negative rate. Material and Methods:In five scalp angiosarcoma cases, mapping biopsies were performed at far from the suspected edge of the neoplasm. On permanent pathology, we obtained tumor free margin with occasional focal involvement of the tumor. Results:Frozen-section analysis of the resected margins is inconclusive, for the subtle diagnostic features of angiosarcoma are distorted by the tissue processing required for frozen-section analysis. The characteristic dermal vessels lined by their malignant cells are collapsed by the freezing process. This results in a high rate of false-negative reports and possibly leads to incomplete resection of the neoplasm. Conclusion:Our recommendation is to establish the margins of the tumor by performing preoperative evaluations by mapping biopsies.

High data rates in long-term evolution (LTE) networks can affect the mobility of networks and their performance. The speed and motion of user equipment (UE) can compromise seamless connectivity. However, a proper handover (HO) decision can maintain quality of service (QoS) and increase system throughput. While this may lead to an increase in complexity and operational costs, self-optimization can enhance network performance by improving resource utilization and user experience and by reducing operational and capital expenditure. In this study, we propose the self-optimization of HO parameters based on fuzzy logic control (FLC) and multiple preparation (MP), which we name FuzAMP. Fuzzy logic control can be used to control self-optimized HO parameters, such as the HO margin and time-to-trigger (TTT) based on multiple criteria, viz HO ping pong (HOPP), HO failure (HOF) and UE speeds. A MP approach is adopted to overcome the hard HO (HHO) drawbacks, such as the large delay and unreliable procedures caused by the break-before-make process. The results of this study show that the proposed method significantly reduces HOF, HOPP, and packet loss ratio (PLR) at various UE speeds compared to the HHO and the enhanced weighted performance HO parameter optimization (EWPHPO) algorithms.
This paper deals with attitude controller design and integrated performance tests on the nitrogen gas reaction control system of KSLV-I. Some major factors which are necessarily required in designing a stabilizing controller of reaction control system are investigated, and the corresponding equations are given. Experimental configurations and test conditions for system level integrated performance tests of the KSLV-I nitrogen gas reaction control system are summarized. It is shown that, based on the experimental data, operational performances of nitrogen gas reaction control system can be analyzed in terms of gas consumption, thrusting force, time delay, and specific impulse. It is also shown that a conformance of the controller to flight can be evaluated. Finally the onboard controller of KSLV-I reaction control system is shown to perform normally with enough stability margin via the first flight test result.

Based on the conventional 2-6GHz digital frequency discriminator (DFD) using the phase unwrapping and least-squares techniques, we propose a new 2-18GHz DFD. To compensate for lowered-precision frequency estimation due to the expanded bandwidth, the proposed DFD design employs more delay lines, accordingly accompanying high complexity. Thus, a new computationally efficient frequency estimation algorithm is also presented to overcome such high computational burden. More specifically, the proposed frequency estimation algorithm is basically based on the conventional phase unwrapping technique, along with a new candidates selection for the unwrapped phases under the condition that the phase margin is known. As a result, the computational burden required for the least-squares technique can be reduced. Finally, simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, compared with those of the conventional DFD's.

To improve low sense margin at low voltage, we propose a negatively driven sensing (NDS) scheme and to solve the problem of WL-to-BL short leakage fail, a variable bitline reference scheme with free-level precharged bitline (FLPB) scheme is adopted. The influence of the threshold voltage offset of NMOS and PMOS transistors in a latch type sense amplifier is very important factor these days. From evaluating the sense amplifier offset voltage distribution of NMOS and PMOS, it is well known that PMOS has larger distribution in threshold voltage variation than that of NMOS. The negatively-driven sensing (NDS) scheme enhances the NMOS amplifying ability. The offset voltage distribution is overcome by NMOS activation with NDS scheme first and PMOS activation followed by time delay. The sense amplifier takes a negative voltage during the sensing and amplifying period. The negative voltage of NDS scheme is about -0.3V to -0.6V. The performance of the NDS scheme for DRAM at the gigabit level has been verified through its realization on 1-Gb DDR2 DRAM chip.

We describe the design for a correlator and an access code generator in bluetooth system. These are used for a connection setting, a packet decision and a clock synchronization between Bluetooth units. The correlator consists of two blocks; carry save adder based on Wallace tree and threshold-value decision block. It determines on an useful packet and clock-synchronization for input signal of 1.0Mbps through the sliding-window correlating. The access-code generator also consists of two blocks; BCH(Bose-Chadhuri-Hocquenghem) cyclic encoder and control block. It generates the access-codes according to four steps' generation process based on Bluetooth standard. In order to solve synchronization problem, we make use of any memory as a pseudo random sequence. The proposed correlator and access-code generator were coded with VHDL. An FPGA Implementation of these modules and the simulation results are proved by Xilinx chip. The critical delay and correlative margin based on synthesis show the 4.689ns and the allowable correlation-error up to 7-bit.

A simple Crocco's $n-{\tau}$ time delay model and linear analysis of fluid flow coupled with acoustics are combined to investigate the high frequency combustion instability in the combustion chamber of LOX/hydrocarbon engines. The partial differential equation of the velocity potential is separated into ordinary differential equations, and eigenvalues that correspond to tangential resonance modes in the cylindrical chamber are determined. A general solution is obtained by solving the differential equation in the axial direction, and boundary conditions at the injector face and nozzle entrance are applied in order to calculate the chamber admittance. Frequency analysis of the transfer function is used to evaluate the stability of system. Stability margin is determined from the system gain and phase angle for the desired frequency range of 1T mode. The chamber model with variable baffle length and configurations are also considered in order to enhance the 1T mode stability of the combustion chamber.
To operate the automatic devices of manufacturing process more effectively and to solve the needs of the resource sharing, network technology is applied to the control devices located in common manufacturing zone and operated by connecting them. In this paper, functional standard of the network layers are set as physical and data link layer of IEEE 802.2, 802.4, and VMD application layer and ISO-CIM reference model. Then, they are divided as minimized architecture, designed as group objects which perform group management and service objects which organizes and operates the group. For the stability in this network, this paper measures the variation of data packet length and node number and analyzes the variated value of the waiting time for the network operation. For the method of the analysis, non-exhausted service method are selected, and the arrival rates of the each data packet to the nodes that are assumed to form a Poission distribution. Then, queue model is set as M/G/1, and the analysis equation for waiting time is found. For the evalution of the performance, the length of the data packet varies from 10 bytes to 100 bytes in the operation of the group management network, the variation of the wating time is less than 10 msec. Since the waiting time in this case is less than 10 msec, response time is fast enough. Furthermore, to evaluate the real time processing of the group management network, it shows if the number of nodes is less than 40, and the average arrival time is less than 40 packet/sec, it can perform stable operation even taking the overhead such as software delay time, indicated packet service, and transmissin safety margin.

The mathematical model of a three phase PWM converter under the stationary αβ reference frame is deduced and constructed based on a Proportional-Resonant (PR) regulator, which can replace trigonometric function calculation, Park transformation, real-time detection of a Phase Locked Loop and feed-forward decoupling with the proposed accurate calculation of the inductance voltage vector. To avoid the parallel resonance of the LCL topology, the active damping method of the proportional capacitor-current feedback is employed. As to current vector error elimination, an optimized PR controller of the inner current loop is proposed with the zero-pole matching (ZPM) and cancellation method to configure the regulator. The impacts on system's characteristics and stability margin caused by the PR controller and control parameter variations in the inner-current loop are analyzed, and the correlations among active damping feedback coefficient, sampling and transport delay, and system robustness have been established. An equivalent model of the inner current loop is studied via the pole-zero locus along with the pole placement method and frequency response characteristics. Then, the parameter values of the control system are chosen according to their decisive roles and performance indicators. Finally, simulation and experimental results obtained while adopting the proposed method illustrated its feasibility and effectiveness, and the inner current loop achieved zero static error tracking with a good dynamic response and steady-state performance.
Inter-symbol interference (ISI) due to channel bandwidth limitation constrains the maximum data rate in high speed I/O. Decision feedback equalizer (DFE) is known as the most popular technique for removing ISI. To ensure fast data transmission, not only removing ISI but also raising maximum operating frequency of the circuit itself by relaxing feedback delay margin is important. For single-ended signaling, DFE should cancel out both ISI and high frequency noises. Low-power operation is as important as fast operation because required DFE elements increase as the data rate goes up. This paper surveys recent techniques for fast DFE by removing ISI and high frequency noises, and low power DFE and discusses about their merits and limitations.
