스트레인 출력 되먹임을 이용한 구조 시스템 계수 추정 (Structural System Parameter Estimation using Strain Output Feedback)

  • As computer capability and test skill become more and more advanced, finite element method and modal test are being widely applied in engineering design. In order to correlate and reconcile the inevitable discrepancies between the analytical and experimental models, many techniques have been developed. Among these methods, multiple-system methods are known as the effective tools in that they can supply the rich modal data available which are experimentally obtained. These abundant modal data can help structural system parameters estimated well. Multiple-system methods can be classified into the structural modification methods and feedback controller methods. The structural modification methods need the physical attachment of structures and their concept may limit the application of them. To overcome this drawback, the feedback controller methods are addressed which enable us to get more modal data without the structural change. Mode decoupling controller(MDC), one of them, is to use acceleration out)ut feedback to perturb an open-loop system. The output feedback controller generally cannot guarantee the stability of a closed-loop system. However, MDC can solve this problem under the certain constraints. So far, MDC utilizes accelerations as the sensor signals. In this research, strain sensors are going to be picked up to apply to the MDC. Strain output is recently used for structural system identification due to the drastically improved and miniaturized strain sensor. In this paper, we show that the MDC using strain output has differences compared with acceleration output in estimating the structural system parameters. The associated simulation is performed to demonstrate the above mentioned characteristics.

모바일 충전회로에서 EFT/B 신호의 전달특성 예측에 대한 연구 (Prediction of EFT/B Signal Transfer Characteristics in Mobile Charging Circuit)

  • 본 논문에서는 모바일 충전회로를 대상으로 IEC 규격의 EFT/B(Electric Fast Transient and Burst) 내성 시험을 수행할 때 전달되는 신호를 예측할 수 있는 방법론 및 모델을 제안한다. EFT/B 신호는 모바일 충전회로가 충전 중인 상태에서 전달되기 때문에 교류전원 단에서 부터 부하 단까지의 신호전달특성을, 모바일 충전회로에 교류전원이 연결된 상태에서 알아야할 필요가 있다. 이를 위하여 간단한 CDN(Coupling-Decoupling Network)을 설계 제작하였으며, 이것을 이용하여 교류전원이 연결되어 있을 때와 연결되어 있지 않을 때의 두 가지 경우에 대해서 모바일 충전회로의 S-parameter를 VNA(Vector Network Analyzer)를 이용하여 측정하였다. 그 결과, 측정된 모바일 충전회로의 S-parameter 특성은 전원의 연결 유무와 거의 무관하였으며, 이것을 근거로 하여 모바일 충전회로만의 전달특성을, 전원이 연결되지 않은 상태에서, 적절한 인터페이스를 제작하여 측정하였다. 실제 EFT/B 신호 입출력의 전달함수를 구하여 S-parameter 측정의 정확성을 검증하였다. 이렇게 측정된 특성을 이용하여 모바일 충전회로의 EFT/B 신호가 전달되는 특성을 효과적으로 예측할 수 있었음을 보였다.

A Sequential Orientation Kalman Filter for AHRS Limiting Effects of Magnetic Disturbance to Heading Estimation

  • This paper deals with three dimensional orientation estimation algorithm for an attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) based on nine-axis inertial/magnetic sensor signals. In terms of the orientation estimation based on the use of a Kalman filter (KF), the quaternion is arguably the most popular orientation representation. However, one critical drawback in the quaternion representation is that undesirable magnetic disturbances affect not only yaw estimation but also roll and pitch estimations. In this paper, a sequential direction cosine matrix-based orientation KF for AHRS has been presented. The proposed algorithm uses two linear KFs, consisting of an attitude KF followed by a heading KF. In the latter, the direction of the local magnetic field vector is projected onto the heading axis of the inertial frame by considering the dip angle, which can be determined after the attitude KF. Owing to the sequential KF structure, the effects of even extreme magnetic disturbances are limited to the roll and pitch estimations, without any additional decoupling process. This overcomes an inherent issue in quaternion-based estimation algorithms. Validation test results show that the proposed method outperforms other comparison methods in terms of the yaw estimation accuracy during perturbations and in terms of the recovery speed.

Improved Decoupled Control and Islanding Detection of Inverter-Based Distribution in Multibus Microgrid Systems

  • This work mainly discusses an accurate and fast islanding detection based on fractional wavelet packet transform (FRWPT)for multibus microgrid systems. The proposed protection scheme uses combined desirable features retrieved from discrete fractional Fourier transform (FRFT) and wavelet packet transform (WPT) techniques, which provides precise time-frequency information on minute perturbation signals introduced in the system. Moreover, this study focuses on the design of decoupling control with a distributed controller based on state feedback for the efficient operation of microgrid systems that are transitioning from the grid-connected mode to the islanded mode. An IEEE 9-bus test system with inverter based distributed generation (DG) units is considered for islanding assessment and smooth operation. Finally, tracking errors are greatly reduced with stability improvement based on the proposed controller. FRWPT based islanding detection is demonstrated via a time domain simulation of the system. Simulated results show an improvement in system stability with the application of the proposed controller and accurate islanding detection based on the FRWPT technique in comparison with the results obtained by applying the wavelet transform (WT) and WPT.

Control of a Bidirectional Z-Source Inverter for Electric Vehicle Applications in Different Operation Modes

  • This paper proposes two control strategies for the bidirectional Z-source inverters (BZSI) supplied by batteries for electric vehicle applications. The first control strategy utilizes the indirect field-oriented control (IFOC) method to control the induction motor speed. The proposed speed control strategy is able to control the motor speed from zero to the rated speed with the rated load torque in both motoring and regenerative braking modes. The IFOC is based on PWM voltage modulation with voltage decoupling compensation to insert the shoot-through state into the switching signals using the simple boost shoot-through control method. The parameters of the four PI controllers in the IFOC technique are designed based on the required dynamic specifications. The second control strategy uses a proportional plus resonance (PR) controller in the synchronous reference frame to control the AC current for connecting the BZSI to the grid during the battery charging/discharging mode. In both control strategies, a dual loop controller is proposed to control the capacitor voltage of the BZSI. This controller is designed based on a small signal model of the BZSI using a bode diagram. MATLAB simulations and experimental results verify the validity of the proposed control strategies during motoring, regenerative braking and grid connection operations.

Decoupling of the Secondary Saliencies in Sensorless PMSM Drives using Repetitive Control in the Angle Domain

  • To decouple the secondary saliencies in sensorless permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drives, a repetitive control (RC) in the angle domain is proposed. In this paper, the inductance model of a concentrated windings surface-mounted PMSM (cwSPMSM) with strong secondary saliencies is developed. Due to the secondary saliencies, the estimated position contains harmonic disturbances that are periodic relative to the angular position. Through a transformation from the time domain to the angle domain, these varying frequency disturbances can be treated as constant periodic disturbances. The proposed angle-domain RC is plugged into an existing phase-locked loop (PLL) and utilizes the error of the PLL to generate signals to suppress these periodic disturbances. A stability analysis and parameter design guidelines of the RC are addressed in detail. Finally, the proposed method is carried out on a cwSPMSM drive test-bench. The effectiveness and accuracy are verified by experimental results.

A PWM Phase-Shift Circuit using an RC Delay for Multiple LED Driver ICs

  • This paper proposes a PWM phase-shift circuit to make that the LED lighting system distributes the channel currents evenly for any number of LED strings by generating evenly phase-shifted PWM signals for multiple LED driver ICs. The evenly distributed channel currents reduce the peak current, the decoupling capacitor size, and EMI noise. The PWM phase-shift circuit makes an arbitrary degree of PWM phase-shift by using a resistor and a capacitor. It measures the RC delay once. It reduces the number of external resistors and capacitors by providing zero and 180 degree phase-shift modes requiring no resistor and capacitor. An LED driver IC with the PWM phase-shift circuit was fabricated with a $0.35{\mu}m$ BCDMOS process. The PWM phase-shift circuit receives a PWM signal of 50 Hz~20 kHz at $f_{CLK}=450kHz$ and it generates a $0{\sim}360^{\circ}$ phase-shifted PWM signal with $R=0{\sim}1.1M{\Omega}$ at C=1 nF and $f_{PWM}=1kHz$. The measured phase errors are 1.74~3.94% due to parasitic capacitances.

Highly Sensitive Flexible Organic Field-Effect Transistor Pressure Sensors Using Microstructured Ferroelectric Gate Dielectrics

  • For next-generation electronic applications, human-machine interface devices have recently been demonstrated such as the wearable computer as well as the electronic skin (e-skin). For integration of those systems, it is essential to develop many kinds of components including displays, energy generators and sensors. In particular, flexible sensing devices to detect some stimuli like strain, pressure, light, temperature, gase and humidity have been investigated for last few decades. Among many condidates, a pressure sensing device based on organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) is one of interesting structure in flexible touch displays, bio-monitoring and e-skin because of their flexibility. In this study, we have investigated a flexible e-skin based on highly sensitive, pressure-responsive OFETs using microstructured ferroelectric gate dielectrics, which simulates both rapidly adapting (RA) and slowly adatping (SA) mechanoreceptors in human skin. In SA-type static pressure, furthermore, we also demonstrate that the FET array can detect thermal stimuli for thermoreception through decoupling of the input signals from simultaneously applied pressure. The microstructured highly crystalline poly(vinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene) possessing piezoelectric-pyroelectric properties in OFETs allowed monitoring RA- and SA-mode responses in dyanamic and static pressurizing conditions, which enables to apply the e-skin to bio-monitoring of human and robotics.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 유연성 궤도 모델을 개발하여 고기동성 궤도차량의 다물체 동역학 해석에 응용하는 것이다. 유연성 궤도 모델을 개발하는데는 대체로 두 가지 어려운 문제가 따른다. 첫째로, 해의 안정성을 유지하기 위해 적분구간이 충분히 작아야 한다는 것이다. 즉, 궤도 링크 사이의 유연성 조인트 모델과 충격적인 접촉력에 따른 고진동 입력을 처리해야 한다. 둘째로, 3차원 다물체 궤도차량 모델에 대한 수 많은 운동 방정식을 풀어야 한다는 것이다. 따라서 궤도차량을 샤시와 궤도 부시스템으로 나누고 회귀적인 방법을 사용하여 운동방정식의 수를 최소화하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 방법을 검증하기 위하여 차량의 가속, 고속주행, 제동, 선회 등의 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

차량용 블루투스 스피커를 위한 EMC를 고려한 4층 PCB 설계 (Design of 4-Layer PCB Considering EMC for Automotive Bluetooth Speaker)

  • 본 논문에서는 전자파 방출을 줄이기 위해 필터나 디커플링 캐패시터를 사용하는 대신에 PCB 내의 칩 배치, 배선 모양 등을 변경하여 위험신호의 배선 길이와 귀환경로를 짧게 하는 EMC 고려 PCB 설계 기법을 제안하였다. 제안하는 기법에서는 PCB 상의 여러 가지 신호에 대해 신호속도를 계산하고, 신호속도가 가장 높은 위험신호에 대해 선로를 가능한 짧게 하도록 가장 먼저 칩의 위치를 선정하고 배선도 가장 먼저 수행해야 한다. 또 위험신호의 귀환경로에 불연속이 발생하지 않도록 설계하며 귀환경로의 기준이 되는 전원판과 접지판이 분할되어 있지 않도록 한다. CISPR-32, CISPR-25 등의 전자파 적합성 시험을 통과하지 못했던 차량용 블루투스 지향성 스피커에 이 기법을 적용하여 PCB를 재설계한 후 EMC 측정을 수행하였더니 해당 전자파 적합성 시험을 수월하게 통과할 수 있었다. 제안하는 기법은 EMC 특성이 중요한 전자기기에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다.
