  • $^{237}Np$ is very important material in the fission products of nuclear reactors. Resonance integral(RI) tests of this material is necessary to check between the experiments and the evaluated data. Such feedback to the evaluated data is very important to correct data and improve of codes. The RI for the $^{237}Np(n,{\gamma})^{238}Np$ reaction were measured by using the 46-MeV electron linear accelerator (linac) at the Research Reactor Institute, Kyoto University (KURRI). The measurement was performed in the energy region from 0.005 eV and 10 keV. RI obtained as 804.7 barns, compared with those of the evaluated data in JENDL-4.0 and Mughabghab.

  • A conventional pseudorandom sequence generator creates only 1 bit of data per clock cycle. Therefore, it may cause a delay in data communications. In this paper, we propose an efficient implementation method for a pseudorandom sequence generator with parallel outputs. By virtue of the simple matrix multiplications, we derive a well-organized recursive formula and realize a pseudorandom sequence generator with multiple outputs. Experimental results show that, although the total area of the proposed scheme is 3% to 13% larger than that of the existing scheme, our parallel architecture improves the throughput by 2, 4, and 6 times compared with the existing scheme based on a single output. In addition, we apply our approach to a $2{\times}2$ multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) detector targeting the 3rd Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution (3GPP LTE) system. Therefore, the throughput of the MIMO detector is significantly enhanced by parallel processing of data communications.

  • This paper considers the synchronization problem of chaotic systems. For this problem, the sampled-data control approach is used to achieve asymptotic synchronization of two identical chaotic systems. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, a new stability condition is obtained via linear matrix inequality formulation to find the sampled-data feedback controller which achieves the synchronization between chaotic systems. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a numerical example in order to show the effectiveness of our results.

  • Motion can be estimated continuously from each sensor through the analysis of the instantaneous states of an object. This paper is aimed to introduce a method to estimate the general 3D motion of a planar object from the instantaneous states of an object using multi-sensor data fusion. The instantaneous states of an object is estimated using the linear feedback estimation algorithm. The motion estimated from each sensor is fused to provide more accurate and reliable information about the motion of an unknown planar object. We present a fusion algorithm which combines averaging and deciding. With the assumption that the motion is smooth, the approach can handle the data sequences from multiple sensors with different sampling times. Simulation results show proposed algorithm is advantageous in terms of accuracy, speed, and versatility.

  • Mahalanobis-Taguchi system(MTS) is a statistical tool for classifying the normal group and abnormal group in multivariate data structures. In addition to the classification itself, the MTS uses a method for selecting variables useful for the classification. This method can be used efficiently especially when the abnormal group data are scattered without a specific directionality. When the feedback adjustment procedure through the measurements of the process output for controlling process input variables is not practically possible, the reset procedure can be an alternative one. This article proposes a reset procedure using the MTS. Moreover, a method for identifying input variables to reset is also proposed by the use of the contribution. The identification of the root-cause parameters using the existing dimension-reduced contribution tends to be difficult due to the variety of correlation relationships of multivariate data structures. However, it became possible to provide an improved decision when used together with the location-centered contribution and the individual-parameter contribution.

  • Human biosignals provide essential information for diagnosing diseases such as dementia and Parkinson's disease. Owing to the shortcomings of current clinical assessments, noninvasive solutions are required. Machine learning (ML) on wearable sensor data is a promising method for the real-time monitoring and early detection of abnormalities. ML facilitates disease identification, severity measurement, and remote rehabilitation by providing continuous feedback. In the context of wearable sensor technology, ML involves training on observed data for tasks such as classification and regression with applications in clinical metrics. Although supervised ML presents challenges in clinical settings, unsupervised learning, which focuses on tasks such as cluster identification and anomaly detection, has emerged as a useful alternative. This review examines and discusses a variety of ML algorithms such as Support Vector Machines (SVM), Random Forests (RF), Decision Trees (DT), Neural Networks (NN), and Deep Learning for the analysis of complex clinical data.

  • The purpose of this study is to design and develop a teaching-learning process plan for process-based assessment, focusing on the unit related to life design in middle school home economics(HE: Home Economics part of 「Technology and Home Economics」), to propose a feedback plan after implementing it, and to evaluate the plan through participatory observation and interviews. The student reflection journals, teacher's class journals, participatory observation journals, interviews, and performance tasks, were collected and analyzed to provide foundational date to be utilized for feedback to students, and class improvement. The research results are as follows: First, the developed teaching-learning process plan consists of a total of 8 sessions, i.e. 2 sessions for each of the four learning themes, under the practical question of "What should I do to live the life I want?" The portfolio was composed of five evaluation topics and for evaluation, oral presentation, observational evaluation, self-assessment, and peer evaluation were considered. Second, during the class, feedback from teachers, feedback from fellow students, feedback through results, and a plan to record them were provided. Third, from the analysis of collected data including observation journals and interviews, it was apparent that the students recognized the necessity of process-based assessment after the class, and students acknowledged that through the process-based evaluation in which they are evaluated on the efforts they made and provided with feedbacks, they participated more in class, and it lead them to experience a sense of growth and a feeling that they took a step forward into their future. Teachers suggested that the class through feedback was suitable for the unit and the capacity of the class, but the difficulty they experienced in giving feedback was presented as a disadvantage. For the process-based assessment, follow-up research is needed on various ways to provide feedback on-line and off-line through changes in the perception of assessment.

  • The IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN (Local Area Network) is widely used for wireless access due to its easy deployment and low cost. Multicast in wireless LANs is very useful for transmitting data to multiple receivers compared to unicast to each receiver. In the IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN, multicast transmissions are unreliable since multicast data packets are transmitted without any feedback from receivers. Recently, various protocols have been proposed to enhance the reliability of multicast transmissions. They still have serious problems in reliability and efficiency due to the excessive control overhead by the use of a large number of control packets in the error recovery process, and due to a large number of retransmissions to satisfy all receivers. In this paper, we propose an effective scheme called PTRM(Proactive Transmission based Reliable Multicast). The proposed scheme uses a block erasure code to generate parity packets and to reduce the impact of independent packet error among receivers. After generating parity packets, the PTRM transmits data packets as many as receivers need to recover error, and then requests feedback from them. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides reliable multicast while minimizing the feedback overhead.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of using a pressure bio-feedback unit (PBFU) and a pelvic belt (PB) on the electromyographic (EMG) signal amplitude of the gluteus medius (Gmed) and the quadratus lumborum (QL) during hip abduction exercise when lying on the side. Methods : Twenty able-bodied volunteers (10 male, 10 female) were recruited for this study. The EMG signal amplitude was randomly measured during hip abduction with preferred hip abduction (PHA), with PBFU, and with PB. The surface EMG signal was recorded from the Gmed and the QL. Data were analyzed using a one-way repeated ANOVA. Results : Muscle activity of Gmed was significantly higher in PBFU and in PB than in PHA (p<.05). There were no significant difference between PBFU and PB(p>.05). Muscle activity of the QL was significantly lower in PB than in PHA(p<.05). The Gmed/QL muscle activity ratio was also significantly higher in PBFU and in PB than in PHA(p<.05), with no significant difference between PBFU and PB (p>.05). Conclusion : Based on these findings, using a PBFU and a PB is an effective method to disassociate QL use from Gmed use during hip abduction exercises when lying on the side.

  • A control of the body posture and movement is maintained by the vestibular system, vision, and proprioceptors. Afferent signals from those receptors are transmitted to the vestibular nuclear complex, and the efferent signals from the vestibular nuclear complex control the eye movement and skeletal muscle contract. The postural disturbance caused by loss of the vestibular function results in nausea, vomiting, vertigo and loss of craving for life. The purpose of this study is to develop a off-vertical rotatory system for evaluating the function of semicircular canals and otolith organs, selectively, and visual stimulation system for- stimulation with horizontal, vortical and 3D patterns. The Off-vortical axis rotator is composed of a comportable chair, a DC servo-motor with reducer and a tilting table controlled by PMSM. And a double feedback loop system containing a velocity feedback loop and a position feedback loop is applied to the servo controlled rotatory chair system. Horizontal, vertical, and 3D patterns of the visual stimulation for applying head mounted display are developed. And wireless portable systems for optokinetic stimulation and recording system of the eye movement is also constructed. The gain, phase, and symmetry is obtained from analysis of the eye movement induced by vestibular and visual stimulation. Detailed data were described.
