인공어초 어장에서 수록한 음향학적 다차원 데이터 해석을 위한 GIS의 응용 (The application of GIS in analyzing acoustical and multidimensional data related to artificial reefs ground)

  • This study is for the multi-dimensional analysis of diverse data sets for artificial reefs off the coast of Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi prefecture, Japan. Various data sets recorded in artificial reefs ground were integrated in new GIS software: to reveal the relationships between water temperature and fish schools; to visualize the quantitative connection between the reefs and the fish schools; and to compare the seabed types derived from two different data sources. The results obtained suggest that the application of GIS in analyzing multi-dimensional data is a better way to understand the characteristics of fish schools and environmental information around artificial reefs and particularly in the evaluation of the effectiveness of artificial reefs.

위상수학적 데이터 분석법을 이용한 수학학습 불안 분석 사례 (Mathematics Anxiety Analysis using Topological Data Analysis)

  • Recently, Topological Data Analysis (TDA) has attracted attention among various techniques for analyzing big data. Mapper algorithm, which is one of TDA techniques, is used to visualize the cluster diagram. In this study, students were clustered according to the characteristics and degree of mathematics anxiety using a mapper, and students were visualized according to mathematics anxiety. In order to do this, Mathematical Anxiety Scale (Ko & Yi, 2011) in the aspect of mathematical instability in terms of teaching - learning, ie, Nature of Mathematics, Learning Strategy, Test/Performance is used. And the number of questions that measure the anxiety of mathematics can be extracted by extracting the most relevant items among the items that measure the anxiety of mathematics.

자기조직화 지도를 이용한 한국 기업의 재무성과 평가 (Financial Performance Evaluation using Self-Organizing Maps: The Case of Korean Listed Companies)

  • The amount of financial information in sophisticated large data bases is huge and makes interfirm performance comparisons very difficult or at least very time consuming. The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether neural networks in the form of self-organizing maps (SOM) can be successfully employed to manage the complexity for competitive financial benchmarking. SOM is known to be very effective to visualize results by projecting multi-dimensional financial data into two-dimensional output space. Using the SOM, we overcome the problems of finding an appropriate underlying distribution and the functional form of data when structuring and analyzing a large data base, and show an efficient procedure of competitive financial benchmarking through clustering firms on two-dimensional visual space according to their respective financial competitiveness. For the empirical purpose, we analyze the data base of annual reports of 100 Korean listed companies over the years 1998, 1999, and 2000.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive an improved method for analyzing old buildings with risk of collapse using public big data. Previous studies on the risk of building collapse focused on internal factors such as building age and structural vulnerability. However, this study suggests a method to derive potentially collapsible buildings considering not only internal factors of buildings but also external factors such as nearby new construction data. Based on the big data analysis, this study develops a system to visualize vulnerable buildings that require safety diagnosis and proposed a future utilization plan.

  • There have been numerous efforts to provide legal information to the general public easily. Most of the existing legal information services are based on keyword-oriented legal ontology. However, this keyword-oriented ontology construction has a sense of disparity from the relationship between the laws used together in actual cases. To solve this problem, it is necessary to study which laws are actually used together in various judicial precedents. However, this is difficult to implement with the existing methods used in computer science or law. In our study, we analyzed this by using topological data analysis, which has recently attracted attention very promisingly in the field of data analysis. In this paper, we applied the the Mapper algorithm, which is one of the topological data analysis techniques, to visualize the relationships that laws form organically in actual precedents.

  • For imaging of concrete specimens using radar, principles of radar and signal processing are discussed. Experimental data obtained from radar measurement of two different concrete specimens at two different frequency bandwidths of 2~3.4 GHz, 3.4~5.8 GHz and these two frequencies are combined to show better imaging. A signal processing scheme has been implemented to visualize the concrete specimens. Through combined frequency, imaging results of concrete specimens were improved.

  • Support vector machines(SVMs) are known as flexible and efficient classifier of multivariate observations, producing a hyperplane or hyperdimensional curved surface in multidimensional feature space that best separates training samples by known groups. As various methodological extensions are made for SVM classifiers in recent years, it becomes more difficult to understand the constructed model intuitively. The aim of this paper is to visualize various SVM classifications tuned by several parameters in reduced dimensions, so that data analysts secure the tangible image of the products that the machine made.

  • In this study, we get a digital imagery about the objective road and visualize it as three dimensional so called 3D. That is to say that we manage the road trough computerized data or 3D and we can expect to get efficiency of the human resources and economical, timely efficiency which is needed to maintain and manage the road.

  • RUSLE was applied to estimate annual soil loss from two small agricultural watersheds in Kangwon-do, Korea. GIS input parameters were prepared by using DEMs and soil maps prepared by the NGIS project and Rural Development Adminstration, respoctively. RUSLE parameters were prepared based on existing data and equations. Estimated annual soil loss was graphically presented to easily visualize the large soil loss area. Uplands and vineyards proved to be the two greatest sources for soil erosion. It was suggested to develop effective management practices to reduce the soil erosion from uplands and vineyards.

  • For imaging of concrete specimens using radar, the principles of radar, microwave, and the electromagnetic properties of concrete are discussed. Experimental data obtained from radar measurement of concrete specimens with no steel bars at three different frequency bandwidths of 2~3.4 GHz, 3.4~5.8 GHz and 8~12 GHz are processed to determine the thickness of the specimens. A signal processing scheme has been implemented to visualize the concrete specimens. The purpose of this study is to determine particular frequency range appropriate for measuring the thickness of concrete specimens using radar.
