Effect of Microwave Irradiation on Crystallinity and Pasting Viscosity of Corn Starches Different in Amylose Content

  • Moisture content of normal, waxy, and high amylose com starches was adjusted to 10-35%, and irradiated in a microwave oven. The effect of microwave irradiation on the crystalline structure of starch was measured by using a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and X-ray diffractometry. Pasting viscosity profile was also determined by using a rapid viscoanalyzer (RVA). For all the 3 types of starches tested, the rate of temperature increase by the microwave irradiation was faster and more rapidly reached the maximum temperature of the pressure bomb ($120^{\circ}C$) when the moisture content was higher. X-ray diffraction and DSC data revealed that the microwave irradiated starch underwent partial disruption of crystalline structure. RVA studies showed that the irradiation caused significant reductions in maximal viscosity and breakdown, whereas pasting temperature was increased. Overall trends revealed that the microwave irradiation on the starch containing limited moisture content (less than 35%) provided the effects similar to the heat moisture treatment. These effects became more significant when the moisture content was higher. Compared to waxy com starch, normal, and high amylose com starches appeared to be more susceptible to the microwave irradiation.

양중계획입안 프로세스의 구조화를 통한 프로젝트 정보관리 방안 (A Plan of Project Information Management through Analysis of Drafting Process for Transportation Planning)

  • As the number of high-rise building construction projects grows up, the subject of the transportation planning has become one of the grave issue. however important decision making are made by the experience of the a planner without the rational plans for information sharing. therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest a plan of prefect information management not only for describing drafting process for transportation planning but also for systematizing information used in the procurement, transportation and construction phase to achieve these objectives, this study 1)analyzes the prior theory about transportation planning, 2)performs a case study of actual project to embody the problems of site management by analyzing the results of interviewing experts. In conclusion, the following factors are systematized : 1)the structure of drafting process for transportation planning, 2)the contents of information used in the procurement, transportation and construction phase, 3)the actual condition of code breakdown structure in transportation Planning phase. It is anticipated that the proposed methodology would be able to improve information management among the related engineers and accumulated data that might be used in similar construction projects in Korea.

FPSO Topsides Pipe Rack 견적 중량 추산 방법 연구 (A Study on Weight Estimation and Calculation of the Pipe Rack Structures for FPSO EPC Projects)

  • The weight estimation and calculation of FPSO topsides is first performed at the bidding stage of projects. At this time, it is difficult to estimate and calculate accurately the weight because most of items of FPSO are not apparently defined. Especially, in the case of the pipe rack module, its portion of the total weight and the range of weight variation are large due to special features of piping and electric equipment in the module. Thus, it is very important to estimate and calculate accurately its weight in the task of the weight estimation and calculation of FPSO topsides. In this study, the past data for the weight of the pipe rack module were collected and analyzed, the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) for the pipe rack module was constructed, and primary variables and secondary variables for developing a weight estimation and calculation model were selected. That is, after analyzing the past data, the volume was selected as the primary variable and the regression analysis was performed based on the variable. Then, several secondary variables were selected and incorporated into a weight estimation and calculation model. At this time, the weight per discipline was assumed from ratios of the total weight. Finally, the weight of the pipe rack module was estimated and calculated by using the developed model. As a result, the deviation from the model was better than that (-20 % ~ 60 %) of other studies about the weight estimation and calculation of FPSO topsides. Thus, the validity and applicability of the weight estimation and calculation of the pipe rack could be checked.

모듈러 교각의 BIM 기반 정보 모델 인터페이스 모듈 개발 (Development of BIM Based Information Model Interface Module for a Modular Pier)

  • Modular technology has become a major issue of the construction industries to enhance their productivity. Modular bridge construction generally requires the data exchange between the contractors, designers, fabricators and constructors. Therefore, a readily accessible information model interface module based on BIM technology is essential for their communication during a project life-cycle. In this study, BIM based information model interface module for a modular pier was developed. For the information models, the PBS(Product Breakdown Structure) and LOD(Level of Development) were defined. Next, all components of a modular pier were conducted by the parametric modeling technique, and then 3D cell library interface was developed. An nterface module was also developed using VBA(Visua basic Application) for exchanging a data from 3D model library to other softwares such as Microstation, AutoCad and Excel and was connected with MS Access database. The developed information model interface module would improve the design quality of the modular pier and reduce the time and cost for design. Updated 3D information models could be utilized for the fabrication, assembly, and construction process for modular piers.

Examination of the Fragmentation Behavior of Hemin and Bilin Tetrapyrroles by Electrospray Ionization and Collision-induced Dissociation

  • Bilin tetrapyrroles are metabolic products of the breakdown of porphyrins within a species. In the case of mammals, these bilins are formed by the catabolism of heme and can be utilized as either biomarkers in disease or as an indicator of human waste contamination. Although a small subset of bilin tandem mass spectrometry reports exist, limited data is available in online databases for their fragmentation. The use of fragmentation data is important for metabolomics analyses to determine the identity of compounds detected within a sample. Therefore, in this study, the fragmentation of bilins generated by positive ion mode electrospray ionization is examined by collision-induced dissociation (CID) as a function of collision energy on an FT-ICR MS. The use of the FT-ICR MS allows for high mass accuracy measurements, and thus the formulas of resultant product ions can be ascertained. Based on our observations, fragmentation behavior for hemin, biliverdin and its dimethyl ester, phycocyanobilin, bilirubin, bilirubin conjugate, mesobilirubin, urobilin, and stercobilin are discussed in the context of the molecular structure and collision energy. This report provides insight into the identification of structures within this class of molecules for untargeted analyses.

DEVELOPMENT OF LIFE CYCLE COST ANALYSIS SYSTEM FOR THE BUILD-TRANSFER-LEASE PROJECTS

  • In January 2005, the BTL private investment project was introduced in the Korean construction market as part of the plan to provide high-quality public service and expand the required facilities in a timely manner. Nonetheless, problems such as the low earning rate at the beginning of the business, burden of service compared to the cost of the proposed business, and limitations of the local small and medium-sized companies in relation to their participation in the project arose. The LCC analysis system for the BTL projects was developed as part of efforts toward efficiently investigating the investment eligibility. Specifically, methods for LCC analysis were selected for each stage of the BTL project in relation to the requests of experts for military residential facilities and public educational facilities. Variables were then extracted to derive an accurate analysis value, LCC for the 5 cost items (initial investment cost, operating expenses, maintenance expenses, energy cost, and disposal cost), analyzed, and system enabling comparative analysis for single and multiple initiatives by year and item, developed. Thus, we have to clearly require the accumulation of data to examine the appropriateness of the results of LCC analysis based on data and results.

고출력 환경에 적용 가능한 광대역 다층 구조 레이돔 (Broadband Multi-Layered Radome for High-Power Applications)

  • 고출력 응용환경에 적용 가능한 광대역 다층 구조 레이돔을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 다층 레이돔의 전파전파특성을 ABCD 행렬로 표현하였고, Particle swarm 최적화 알고리즘을 상용 수치 모델링 툴로 구현하여 레이돔의 최적화된 층별 두께와 물질상수를 구하였다. 바람, 눈, 얼음 등 외부 기상 환경을 고려한 기계적 특성을 감안하여 레이돔을 재설계하였다. 대형구조물의 제작 제한조건을 고려한 두께를 재산출하여 전력 전달특성을 재분석하였다. 대기 정전파괴 때보다 10 dB 높은 첨두 전기장의 세기 조건에서 상용 해석 툴을 이용하여, 설계된 레이돔의 RF에 대한 대기 정전파괴 특성을 분석하였다. 설계된 다층 레이돔을 제작하여 소신호 및 대신호 시험을 수행하였고, 상용 도구들을 사용한 계산값과 비교하여 목표 성능을 획득하였다.

설계VE Idea 연계를 위한 성능기반 건물 부위별 기능분류체계 개발 (Development of Function Breakdown Structure of Building Element based on Performance for Idea Connection in Design VE)

  • 건설 분야의 환경변화에 따라 다수의 건설 프로젝트에서 설계경제성 등 검토(설계VE)가 수행되고 있다. 그러나 그동안 수행되었던 VE 기능분석의 경우 체계적인 가능분석 방법론을 통한 아이디어 창출이라기보다는 VE 팀원의 개인적인 경험을 바탕으로 시설물 전체를 대상으로 실시하는 경향이 있다. 그 원인으로는 기존에 수행된 가능분석 자료의 재인용, 시설특성별 구체성이 결여된 포괄적인 기능분석과 추상적인 기능분석 등이 있다. 특히 가능에 요구되는 성능을 명확히 분석 및 정의하지 않음에 따라 건물 부위별로 요구되는 성능과 기능을 충족하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 설계VE 워크숍 제안사례를 토대로 가능과 아이디어 연계현황 및 부위별 아이디어 분류현황 등을 분석하고 문제점 및 개선방향을 도출하였다. 이를 기반으로 VE 활동의 가장 핵심단계인 기능분석단계 중 기능정의/분류 가능정리 과정에서, 시설물 부위별 기능과 함께 요구성능을 반영하여, 기능과 아이디어의 논리적 연계성을 확보할 수 있는 성능기반 건물 부위별 기능분류체계를 개발하였다.

프로토타입기반 기본설계단계 건축마감공사비 산정 모델 (Prototype-based Cost Estimating Model for Building Interior Construction in Design Development Stage)

  • 건축 프로젝트의 초기 기획조사단계에서 발주자의 예산결정을 위하여 사업비에 대한 통계적 추정방법 연구는 다수 이루어졌으나, 파라미터기반 개략견적 방법은 설계진행 중의 설계자 의사결정과 이로 인한 공사비 산정 및 관리업무와의 연계가 이루어지지 않아 설계실무에 활용하기에는 제약이 있다. 한편 실시설계안이 도출된 후 상세견적에 의해 산정된 공사비가 예산을 초과한 경우, 마감수준 등을 국부적으로 임의 조정하여 설계를 확정하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 사무소 건축물을 대상으로 계획설계 및 기본설계단계에서 설계자의 의사결정 프로세스와 연계하여 마감공사비를 용이하게 산정하고, 설계대안의 평가를 지원할 수 있는 프로토타입기반 마감공사비 산정 모델을 개발하였다. 제시된 모델은 건축물을 설계프로세스에 따라 부위별 분류체계에 의해 분할하고, 상세견적 된 기존 사무소 건물의 프로토타입이 축적된 데이터베이스로부터 각 실별 부위선정을 통한 설계대안을 생성하고 그 공사비를 견적하게 한다. 제시된 프로토타입기반의 모델에 대하여 설계와 시공정보를 통합하는 연결체로서의 유효성과 실무설계에서의 적용성을 확인하기 위해 사례검증을 실시하였다.

충격진동 예측방법에 관한 새로운 방법 제안 (Suggestion of New Method for the Prediction of Shock Vibration)

  • 건물해체에서 발생하는 충격진동의 예측은 구조물의 낙하높이와 중량, 즉 위치에너지가 고려되어져왔다. 본 연구에서는 충격진동의 예측방법으로써, 위치에너지 대신 낙하중량에 관한 충격량을 이용한 새로운 식을 제시하였다. 실험은 자유낙하를 통해 기존의 방법인 위치에너지와 본 연구에서 제시하는 충격량을 회귀분석 결과로 비교 분석하였다. 또한 중첩원리를 이용한 방법도, 즉 거리별 감쇠율, 높이별 자유낙하시차, 붕괴패턴에 따른 지반에 충격을 가하는 시점을 산정함으로써, 기존 건물해체 진동데이터와 동일 조건에서 비교해 보았다. 결론적으로 본 연구에서는, 기존의 충격진동을 예측하는 방법으로써 충격량과 중첩의 원리를 이용한 새로운 방법이 적용되어야 함을 제안하였다. 이러한 결과는 실제 건물해체 시 발생하는 충격진동을 기존의 방법보다 정확하게 예측할 수 있을 거라고 기대할 수 있다.
