비대칭 감쇠 시스템의 고유진동수와 모드의 미분을 구하기 위한 모드법의 개선 (Modified Modal Method for Eigenderivative Analysis of Asymmetric Damped System)

  • It is well known that many real systems have asymmetric mass, damping and stiffness matrices. In this case, the method for calculating eigenpair sensitivity is different from that of symmetric system. To determine the derivatives of the eigenpairs in asymmetric damped case, a modal method was recently developed by Adhikari. When a dynamic system has many degrees of freedom only a few lower modes are available, and because the higher modes should be truncated to use the modal method, the errors may become significant. In this paper a procedure for determining the sensitivities of the eigenpairs of asymmetric damped system using a few lowest set of modes is proposed. Numerical examples show that proposed method achieves better calculating efficiency and highly accurate results when a few modes are used.

  • Most of the eigenvalue analysis methods for the undamped or proportionally damped systems use the well-known Sturm sequence property to check the missed eigenvalues when only a set of the lowest modes is to be used for large structures. However, in the case of the non-proportionally damped systems such as the soil-structure interaction system, the structural control system and the composite structures, no counterpart of the Sturm sequence property for undamped systems has been developed yet. Hence, when some important modes are missed for those systems, it may leads to poor results in dynamic analysis. In this paper, a technique for calculating the number of eigenvalues inside the open disk of arbitrary radius for the eigenproblem with the damping matrix is proposed by applying Chen's algorithm and Gleyse's theorem. To verify the applicability of the proposed method, two numerical examples are considered.

  • This is concerned with the development and design of automatic maneuvering system using Differential Global Positioning System(DGPS). To achievement of autonomous maneuvering controller for giant ship, first, we investigated automatic maneuvering controller using DGPS in motor car. The sensors are configured with DGPS and digital compass. We calculated velocity and steering angle of motor car based on sensor signal. To design the controller, we derived the bicycle model and developed critically damped controller. The critically damped controller can be tracing previously appointed position in the fastest time. We are used a laptop computer to realize and the control algorithm is programmed by visual basic software. The obtained experimental results from developed system show unmanned motor car is good tracing planed positions. Hence, the system is looking forward to use the autonomous maneuvering control fur giant ship.

Dynamic response analysis of generally damped linear system with repeated eigenvalues

  • For generally damped linear systems with repeated eigenvalues and defective eigenvectors, this study provides a decomposition method based on residue matrix, which is suitable for engineering applications. Based on this method, a hybrid approach is presented, incorporating the merits of the modal superposition method and the residue matrix decomposition method, which does not need to consider the defective characteristics of the eigenvectors corresponding to repeated eigenvalues. The method derived in this study has clear physical concepts and is easily to be understood and mastered by engineering designers. Furthermore, this study analyzes the applicability of step-by-step methods, including the Newmark beta and Runge-Kutta methods for dynamic response calculation of defective systems. Finally, the implementation procedure of the proposed hybrid approach is illustrated by analyzing numerical examples, and the correctness and the effectiveness of the formula are judged by comparing the results obtained from the different methods.

  • We present finite element equations in the Laplace-domain for linear viscoelastic and viscoelstically damped structures governed by a constitutive equation involving factional order derivative opeartors. These equations yield a nonstandard eigenproblem consisted of frequency dependent stiffness matrix. To solve this nonstandard eigenproblem we suggest an eigenvalue iteration procedure in the Laplace-domain. Improved Zenor and GHM material function type constitutive equations in the Laplace-domain are also available for this procedure. From above equations, complex eigenvalues and complex eigenvectors are obtained. Using obtained eigenvalues and eigenvectors, time domain analysis is performed by means of mode superposition. Finally, finite element solutions of viscoelastic and viscoeleastically damped sandwich beam are presented as an example.

  • This paper presents an efficient eigensolution method for non-proportionally damped systems. The proposed method is obtained by applying the accelerated Newton-Raphson technique and the orthonormal condition of the eigenvectors to the linearized form of the quadratic eigenproblem. A step length and a selective scheme are introduced to increase the convergence of the solution. The step length can be evaluated by minimizing the norm of the residual vector using the least square method. While the singularity may occur during factorizing process in other iteration methods such as the inverse iteration method and the subspace iteration method if the shift value is close to an exact eigenvalue, the proposed method guarantees the nonsingularity by introducing the orthonormal condition of the eigenvectors, which can be proved analytically. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we are concerned with the existence of infinitely many fast homoclinic solutions for the following damped vibration system $$(1){\hspace{32}}{\ddot{u}}(t)+q(t){\dot{u}}(t)-L(t)u(t)+{\nabla}W(t,u(t))=0,\;{\forall}t{\in}{\mathbb{R}},$$ where q ∈ C(ℝ, ℝ), L ∈ C(ℝ, ${\mathbb{R}}^{N^2}$) is a symmetric and positive definite matix-valued function and W ∈ C1(ℝ×ℝN, ℝ). The novelty of this paper is that, assuming that L is bounded from below unnecessarily coercive at infinity, and W is only locally defined near the origin with respect to the second variable, we show that (1) possesses infinitely many homoclinic solutions via a variant symmetric mountain pass theorem.

  • We consider the following strongly damped wave equation on ℝ3 with memory utt - αΔut - βΔu + λu - ∫0 κ'(s)∆u(t - s)ds + f(x, u) + g(x, ut) = h, where a quite general memory kernel and the nonlinearity f exhibit a critical growth. Existence, uniqueness and continuous dependence results are provided as well as the existence of regular global and exponential attractors of finite fractal dimension.

토양 과습처리에 의한 배 대목 Pyrus calleryana 와 Pyrus betulaefolia 집단의 유기물 함량 변화 (Changes in the Organic Compound Contents of the Pear Rootstocks Pyrus calleryana and Pyrus betulaefolia Affected by Excessive Soil Moisture)

  • 우리나라를 포함한 동북아시아에서 나타나는 하습대 기후에서는 여름철에 강우가 집중되는 특징이 있는데, 장마기에 과도한 강우량으로 인한 피해가 지속적으로 보고되고 있다. 국립원예특작과학원 배연구소에서는 과습에 의한 피해를 감소시키기 위하여 내습성을 가지는 개체들의 교배육종을 진행해오고 있다. 본 연구에서는 대표적인 배 대목 품종으로서 P. betulaefolia와 P. calleryana를 사용하여 무처리군(수분 압력 -20 ~ -50 kPa)과 과습처리군(수분 압력 -10 kPa 이하)에서 77일간 생육하여 조건에 따른 수체생장량, 엽록소 함량, 폴리페놀 함량 및 아미노산 합성량 차이를 분석하였다. 그 결과 P. calleryana는 무처리군과 비교하여 과습처리군에서 유기물 합성량의 변화가 유의미하게 관찰되지 않았으나 P. betulaefolia는 과습처리군에서 수체성장률이 무처리군 대비 40% 이상 감소하였고, 엽록소a의 함량 차이는 나타나지 않았으나 엽록소b 함량이 무처리군에 비하여 40% 가량 감소하였다. 아미노산량은 배나무 종에 관계없이 관행재배군보다 과습처리군에서 전체적으로 낮게 측정되었다. 그러나 총 폴리페놀 함량은 과습처리에 의하여 오히려 증가하였는데 P. betulaefolia의 과습처리군에서 무처리군 보다 9.4배 높게 측정되었다. 식물이 환경스트레스에 대응하여 방어물질 및 항산화물질의 합성량을 증가시킨다는 사실은 지속적으로 보고되어 왔다. 습해에 의하여 배 대목들이 합성하는 유기물 함량 차이를 분석하고, 방어기작에 관여할 것으로 예상되는 물질들을 탐색한 이번 연구 결과는 배나무의 습해 방어기작 및 생리기작 연구에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 여겨지며, 향후 내습성 대목 선발을 위한 지표 중의 하나로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
