몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용한 다면 공간의 조도계산 (The Calculation of Illuminance Distribution in Complex Interior using Montecarlo Simulation)

  • 본 논문에서는 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 복잡한 다면 실내공간에서 조도분포를 예측하는 방법을 제안하였다. 광원으로부터 방사하는 빛을 배광분포에 따른 가중치를 가지고 진행하는 입자로 가정하였으며 광원에서 방출된 빛의 경로를 추적하여 반사면과의 교점을 구한다. 그리고 반사면의 반사율을 고려하여 이자가 반사 또는 흡수될 것인가를 판단하고 그 입자가 흡수될 때까지 입자의 진행을 반복한다. 무수히 많은 입자에 대해 위와 같은 과정을 반복하면 실내면의 조도분포를 얻을 수 있다. 보다 세밀한 측정을 위하여 각 실내면은 매우 작은 미소면적으로 분할하였다. 그리고, 실제공간에서도 응용될 수 있도록 실제의 공간과 유사한 다면 실내공간에 대해서 시뮬레이션을 하였으며, 조도분포에 따라 이차원의 등조도 곡선과 삼차원의 조도분포곡선을 그렸다. 실제로 모델공간을 제작하여 조도를 측정해 본 결과, 실험치와 계산치의 오차가 평균 2.3% 이내로 되었다.

Quick Diagnosis of Short Circuit Faults in Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverters using FPGA

  • Fast and accurate fault detection is the primary step and one of the most important tasks in fault tolerant converters. In this paper, a fast and simple method is proposed to detect and diagnosis the faulty cell in a cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter under a short circuit fault. In this method, the reference voltage is calculated using switching control pulses and DC-Link voltages. The comparison result of the output voltage and the reference voltage is used in conjunction with active cell pulses to detect the faulty cell. To achieve this goal, the cell which is active when the Fault signal turns to "0" is detected as the faulty cell. Furthermore, consideration of generating the active cell pulses is completely described. Since the main advantage of this method is its simplicity, it can be easily implemented in a programmable digital device. Experimental results obtained with an 11-level inverter prototype confirm the effectiveness of the proposed fault detection technique. In addition, they show that the diagnosis method is unaffected by variations of the modulation index.

PWM 전압원 인버터의 새로운 스위칭 방법 (A New Switching Strategy for PWM Voltage Source Inverters)

  • PWM 전압원 인버터를 통상적인 스위칭 방법으로 동작시킬 때, 직류 전압원의 단락을 방지하기 위하여 스위칭 신호에 데드타임을 삽입한다. 이러한 데드타임은 인버터 시스템의 제어 성능에 좋지 않은 영향을 발생시킨다. 따라서 이 데드타임의 영향을 보상하는 것이 필요하다. 또한 이 데드타임의 영향을 근본적으로 방지할 수 있는 최선의 방법으로써 데드타임 최소화 스위칭 방법을 고려할 수도 있다. 본 논문에서는 데드타임 최소화 스위칭 방법의 하나인 새로운 스위칭 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 스위칭방법에 의하면 전류 극성이 절환되는 경우에 있어서, 단 한 번의 매우 짧은 데드타임만이 적용된다. 적용되는 데드타임은 스위칭 소자의 턴오프 시간보다 짧거나 같다. 그리고 제안하는 방법은 인버터의 출력 전류를 제어하는 경우에 있어서는, 지령전류의 극성 정보에 의하여 구현될 수 있기 때문에 극성 절환 시점을 판단하기 위하여 실제 전류를 이용하는 경우에 비하여 레벨 검출의 난점, 노이즈 등등의 문제점을 해결하기 쉽다.

  • 직류전동기는 속도제어가 간단하고, 출력 토크특성이 우수한 장점으로 윈치나 카고 펌프 모터 등으로 선박에서 많이 사용되었으며, 전기추진선박이 도입된 초기에는 선박용 추진전동기로도 적용되었다. 하지만 브러시와 정류기와 같은 기계적 정류장치의 단점으로 인해 최근에는 직류전동기와 전기적인 특성은 매우 유사하지만 기계적인 정류장치를 설치하지 않고 반도체 소자를 이용한 전자적인 정류장치를 사용하는 브러시리스 직류전동기의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 기존의 브러시리스 직류전동기를 구동하기 위한 인버터 시스템은 2상여자방식을 사용하므로 역기전력파형이 사다리꼴모양으로 되며, 이로인해 전류가 흐르는 권선이 바뀌는 상전류 전환 구간에서 고조파와 토크리플이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 고조파와 토크리플을 저감하기 위한 다양한 방안이 연구되어 발표되었으며, 본 연구에서는 전력분석프로그램을 이용하여 브러시리스 직류전동기의 구동회로에 비례적분 속도전류제어기 알고리즘을 구현한 Cascaded H-Bridge 멀티레벨 인버터를 적용하였다. 모델링한 브러시리스 직류전동기의 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 전동기의 구동방식을 적용하는 경우에 기존의 구동방식에 비해 전동기 입력측 전압파형 개선과 고조파 및 토크리플이 현저히 저감되는 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents a single-phase parallel active power filter with an analog control circuit to eliminate for harmonic source currents generated by nonlinear loads. The proposed system removes the harmonic source currents by injecting a compensation current that is 180' out of phase with the load harmonic current. The detection of the load harmonics is realized by a simple new structure, referred to the Notch Filter with GIC (Generalized Impedance Converter), which has higher Q than existing harmonic detecters and a simpler structure. The compensation current is obtained using the proposed harmonic detection circuit, DC-Link voltage, and output current of the full-bridge inverter controlled current mode PWM controller. The operation of the proposed system is verified experimentally.

VRFB-LFPB 하이브리드 배터리 기반의 ESS 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of ESS Based on VRFB-LFPB Hybrid Batteries)

  • High-power lithium batteries are suitable for equipment with high power output needs, such as for ESS's initial start-up. However, their management cost is increased by the installation of air-conditioning to minimize the risk of explosion due to internal temperature rise and also by a restriction on the number of charge/discharge cycles. High-capacity flow batteries, on the other hand, have many advantages. They can be used for over 20 years due to their low management costs, resulting from no risk of explosion and a high number of charge/discharge cycles. In this paper, we propose an ESS based on hybrid batteries that uses a lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFePO) at the initial startup and a vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) from the end of the transient period, with a bi-directional PCS to operate two batteries with different DC voltage levels and using an efficient energy management control algorithm.

편향요크코일의 에나멜 탈피 및 통전성형을 위한 탈피통전기의 개발 (Development of the controller for peeling off the enamel and forming of deflection yoke coil)

  • Developed controller is the part of deflection yoke winding machine which controls the power to form the deflection yoke coil into desired shape after winding. So as to form the deflection yoke coil, it is needed to melt the bonding material which is spreaded on the coil. The heat melt the bonding material which is produced by flowing the current through the winded coil. Therefore, at first it is needed to peel off the enamel from the winded coil so as to flow the current, and then supply the power to produce the heat which form the winded coil into desired shape. Naturally developed controller is composed of the peeling part and the conduction and forming part. All of them consist of the inverter structure and control the output current. The peeling is achieved by low voltage and high AC current, the conduction and forming is by DC current. Developed controller also has a function that detect the resistance of the deflection yoke coil to prevent the damage of the load which is produced by poor peeling.

ZnO 바리스터의 하소과정에서 $Sb_2O_3$의 거동 (Behavior of $Sb_2O_3$ in the Calcination Process of ZnO Varistor)

  • The current-voltage characteristics of the ZnO varisor with and without Sb2O3 which were fabricated with the various calcination and sintering temperature were discussed by comparing the results of SEM-microstructures and X-ray diffraction analysis. The samples were calcined at the temperature up to 800\ulcorner for 2 hours and they were sintered at 1200-1300\ulcorner for 1 hour. Then, we applied the power up to dc 200 volt to the samples and measured the output current up to 100mA. The samples without Sb2O3 had lower nonlinear resistances at the all calcination and sintering temperatures due to the large grains because of not forming Spinel phase. The other samples contained Sb2O3 could form Pyrochlore and Spinel phases at the all calcination temperatures by X-ray diffraction phase analysis. We found that the Spinel phases which were formed at the calcination process inhibit growth of ZnO grain and give rise to the change of nonlinear resistances by SEM-microstructures. And we found that the base of ZnO grain growth control is strongly dependent on the behavior of Sb2O3 in calcination process.

Synthetic Jet 마이크로 에어펌프의 개발 (Development of Synthetic Jet Micro Air Pump)

  • This paper presents a micro air pump based on the synthetic jet to supply reactant at the cathode side for micro fuel cells. The synthetic jet is a zero mass flux device that converts electrical energy into the momentum. The synthetic jet actuation is usually generated by a traditional PZT-driven actuator, which consists of a small cylindrical cavity, orifices and PZT diaphragms. Therefore, it is very important that the design parameters are optimized because of the simple configuration. To design the synthetic jet micro air pump, a numerical analysis has been conducted for flow characteristics with respect to various geometries. From results of numerical analysis, the micro air pump has been fabricated by the PDMS replication process. The most important design factors of the micro air pump in micro fuel cells are the small size and low power consumption. To satisfy the design targets, we used SP4423 micro chip that is high voltage output DC-AC converter to control the PZT. The SP4423 micro chips can operate from $2.2{\sim}6V$ power supply(or battery) and is capable of supplying up to 200V signals. So it is possible to make small size controller and low power consumption under 0.1W. The size of micro air pump was $16{\times}13{\times}3mm^3$ and the performance test was conducted. With a voltage of 3V at 800Hz, the air pump's flow rate was 2.4cc/min and its power consumption was only 0.15W.

Wireless Power Transfer for Electric Vehicles Charging Based on Hybrid Topology Switching With a Single Inverter

  • In wireless power transfer (WPT) system, the conventional compensation topologies only can provide a constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV) output under their resonant conditions. It is difficult to meet the CC and CV hybrid charging requirements without any other schemes. In this study, a switching hybrid topology (SHT) is proposed for CC and CV electric vehicle (EV) battery charging. By utilizing an additional capacitor and two AC switches (ACSs), a double-side LCC (DS-LCC) and an inductor and double capacitors-series (LCC-S) topologies are combined. According to the specified CC and CV charging profile, the CC and CV charging modes can be flexibly converted by the two additional ACSs. In addition, zero phase angle (ZPA) also can be achieved in both charging modes. In this method, because the operating frequency is fixed, without using PWM control, and only a small number of devices are added, it has the benefits of low-cost, easy-controllability and high efficiency. A 3.3-kW experimental prototype is configured to verify the proposed switching hybrid charger. The maximum DC efficiencies (at 3.3-kW) of the proposed SHT is 92.58%.
