Power and Spectrum Efficiencies Considering the HPA Nonlinearity in OFDM Communication System (OFDM 통신 시스템에서 비선형 증폭기 특성을 고려한 전력 효율과 대역 효율)

  • It is important to consider the nonlinear effects of the HPA(High Power Amplifier) in the OFDM communication systems and other digital communication systems as well. In this paper, we investigate a new performance figure-of$.$merit(D) that reflects both power and spectrum efficiencies. The performance figure-of-merit is expressed to include the spectrum and power efficiencies that depend on the magnitude of IBO(Input Backoff) and the number of subcarriers. So, we analyze the variation characteristics of the power efficiency and spectrum efficiency which has the tradeoff relationship.

  • 본 논문은 도허티 증폭기 및 포락선 전치 왜곡기를 이용한 전력 증폭기의 효율 및 선형성 개선에 관한 것이다. 전력 증폭기의 효율을 개선하기 위하여 도허티 증폭기를 제작하여 효율 특성을 개선하였으며, 포락선 전치 왜곡기를 이용하여 도허티 증폭기의 선형성 개선량에 대하여 조사하였다. 제작된 도허티 증폭기는 AB 급으로 동작시킨 전력 증폭기와 비교하여 출력 전력 10W에서 8.5%의 효율 개선 효과를 보였으며, 출력 전력 40W에서 12.6%의 효율 개선 특성을 나타내었다. 포락선 전치 왜곡기를 이용한도 허티 증폭기는 출력 전력 10W에서 7dB의 선 형성 개선 효과를 나타내었다. IMT-2000 주파수 대역에서 WCDMA down-link 4 carrier 신호를 이용하여 출력 전력 10W에서 측정한 결과 AB 급으로 동작하는 전력 증폭기와 비교하여 4.2%의 효율 개선 및 6.3dB의 선형성 개선 효과를 나타내었다.

A Study on the Improvement of R&D Promotion Program and its Investment Efficiency for Regional Industry by Practical Analysis: Focused on R&D for Regional Industry in Jeonbuk (실증분석을 통한 지역산업 R&D 육성전략 및 투자 효율성 제고방안 연구: 전북 지역산업 R&D를 중심으로)

  • This study considers the improvement of R&D promotion program and its investment efficiency for regional industry. We find out some problems of R&D promotion program and suggest plans to improve investment efficiency of R&D through practical analysis of achievement. Since the 2000s, our country has implemented diverse policies for regional industry; R&D for regional industry has become a core part of business from the point of view of regional industry. As ever, these policies are highly supported for the purpose of securing industrial competitiveness by the central government and local governments. This study, through practical analysis of certain region (Jeonbuk), reviews some problems of R&D promotion program and suggests plans to enhance the achievements of a variety of policies, strategies, and projects. We perform practical analysis using three methods for three different aspects: shift-share analysis for each industry type, performance analysis for each investment type and characteristic analysis for each company type. Reviewing the results of practical analysis, we suggest some plans to promote the collaboration of main R&D support organizations and to minimize the doubleness caused sporadically by the central government and local governments. This research will be used effectively in setting up, implementing, and evaluating R&D investments for regional Industry.

Overview of Inter-Component Coding in 3D-HEVC (3D-HEVC를 위한 인터-컴포넌트 부호화 방법)

  • A HEVC-compatible 3D video coding method (3D-HEVC) has been recently developed as an extension of the high efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard. In order to efficiently deal with the multi-view video plus depth (MVD) format, 3D-HEVC exploits an inter-component prediction which allows the prediction between texture and depth map images in addition to a temporal prediction used in the conventional single layer video coding such as H.264/AVC and HEVC. The performance of the inter-component prediction is normally affected by the accuracy of the disparity vector, and thus it is important to have an accurate disparity vector used for the inter-component prediction. This paper, therefore, introduces a disparity derivation method and inter-component algorithms using the disparity vector for the efficient 3D video coding. Simulation results show that the 3D-HEVC provides higher coding performance compared with the simulcast approach using HEVC and the simple multi-view extension (MH-HEVC).

A Study on Plans to Enhance R&D Efficiency through Empirical Analysis of National R&D Strategy Focusing on Agricultural Bioresources (국가 기술개발 전략 실증분석을 통한 R&D 효율성 제고방안 연구 : 농생명자원 활용분야 중심으로)

  • Once a production focused on primary industry, Food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries industry is now trying to shed away and plans to totally transform the paradigm of agricultural R&D with a leaping goal towards being a new growth engine. Promoting the bioindustry through utilizing agricultural bioresources was selected as the primary task and also made all efforts to support by all government department and ministry. In this study, we are raised problems and planned the improvements by the empirical analysis of national R&D policy, investment strategy, the recent progress of R&D program, and the performance of R&D investment to achieve early commercialization in fields of agricultural bioresources utilizing. We also propose the R&D role sharing and cooperations of public/private sector to commercialize the agricultural bioresources from the comprehensive empirical analysis results. It will eventually strengthen the national R&D investment strategy and efficiency and then will contribute towards a successful early commercialization performance in bioindustry through utilizing agricultural bioresources.

Efficiency Analysis of Convergence Research R&D Projects by Government-funded Research Institutes: Based on Data Envelopment Analysis (정부출연연구기관의 융합연구 R&D 사업에 대한 효율성 분석: 자료포락분석(Data Envelopment Analysis)에 기초하여)

  • This study aims to make suggestions for more effective budget utilization and R&D project investment through verification of the efficiency of research results for the government's R&D projects. Efficiency was analyzed using Data Envelope Analysis(DEA) and 'Malmquist Index analysis' for the research results of convergence research projects organized by the National Science and Technology Research Association. The analysis targets were convergence research projects organized by the National Science and Technology Research Association and general entrusted research projects by government-funded research institutes, and dynamic analysis was conducted using DEA and Malmquist Index analysis. As a result of the analysis, the convergence research project showed high efficiency from the static perspective of DEA. On the other hand, from a dynamic perspective through the Malmquist Index analysis method, the efficiency of the general consignment project gradually declined, while the efficiency of the convergence research project improved every year. This suggests that convergence studies have higher results than general studies. Through the results of this study, we intend to present objective standards for performance evaluation of government R&D investment and provide objective implications for rational investment policies and research project planning of research personnel and research funds to improve efficiency for government-funded research institutes.

Design of High Efficiency Transmission Dielectric Grating for Chirped Pulse Amplification (CPA 시스템 구성을 위한 고효율 투과형 유전체 회절격자 설계)

  • A diffraction grating structure composed of two matching layers and two grating layers was formed, and a diffraction grating with high transmission diffraction efficiency in the -1st order was designed through an optimization technique. The designed diffraction grating had a transverse electric wave diffraction efficiency of 99.997% at the design center wavelength, and had a wavelength width of 80 nm and an incident angle width of 20.0° that maintained a diffraction efficiency of 95% or more. By performing the grating tolerance analysis, it was confirmed that the thickness tolerance for a diffraction efficiency of 95% or more was secured to at least 60 nm, and the diffraction efficiency could be maintained even in a trapezoidal shape with an internal angle of less than 10°.

The Efficiency Analysis of National R&D Programs for Drug Development Using Range Adjusted Measure (영역조절모형(RAM)을 활용한 신약개발 국가연구개발사업의 효율성 분석)

  • Drug Development is very important for promoting public health and pharmaceutical industry. There has been many studies on the efficiency of drug development, but there are few studies on the drug development R&D performed by government. Since CCR model assumes unidirectional influence of input and output, it is not appropriate to analyze the efficiency of R&D due to the time-lag and spill-over effect. Also, BBC model which assumes variable returns to scale has difficulty in deriving priorities between decision making units. Recently, Range Adjusted Measure (RAM) model has been suggested in R&D efficiency analysis. RAM model measures the efficincy by eliminating inefficiencies under variable returns to scale assumption, and its strong monotonicity enables to provide clear priorities between decision making units. In this study, we analyzed the efficiency of national R&D programs for drug development using the two-step approach, including RAM model and Tobit regression analysis, and discussed major policy implications.

2D CAD 이미지 분석 기반 3D 객체 자동 생성 방법 설계

  • 제조업과 같은 산업체에서는 현장을 이해하고 문서를 확인하는 과정에서 시간, 비용이 많이 소요되기 때문에 해석하기 용이한 3차원 형태의 데이터로 미리 제작하고 온라인으로 모델을 공유하고 수정하는 것은 작업 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. 작업물을 3D 객체 형태로 분석하거나 수정 보완을 위한 가상 목업(mock-up)으로 활용할 경우, 3D 모델링을 빠르고 정확하게 생성하는 기술에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 2D CAD 이미지를 분석하여 도형 형태와 수치 정보를 각각 인식하고 3D 객체를 자동 생성하는 방법의 설계를 제안한다. 제안한 방식을 통해서 2D 이미지 파일의 별도 변환 없이 3D 객체로 자동 생성할 수 있다. 빠르게 자동 생성된 3D 객체는 XR 등의 다양한 플랫폼에서 정확하고 세밀한 형태를 가상 공간에서 공유할 수 있어 작업자 간 협업 효율성을 높일 수 있다.

패션산업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 Virtual Dressing System개발에 관한 연구

  • 국내 섬유 및 패션산업은 세계적인 경쟁력을 갖추고 있으나 낙후된 디자인 기술, 비효율적인 생산관리, 다양한 고객 요구변화에 신속한 대응부족, 비효율적인 유통구조 등으로 인하여 경쟁력 향상에 많은 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서, 정부에서는 패션산업의 경쟁력강화를 위하여 대구지역을 중심으로 밀라노 프로젝트를 추진하고 있으나 대부분이 건물 신축 등 하드웨어적인 측면을 강조하고 있어 디자인 기술향상, 생산관리, 전자상거래 활성화 등 의류 및 패션산업 특성을 감안한 소프트웨어적인 전략 및 지원이 부족한 실정이다. 이에 따라, 본 연구에서는 3D 가상현실 기법을 의류 및 패션산업에 적합하게 개발하여 국내 패션산업의 세계화와 경쟁력강화에 기여하고자 한다. 주요 연구내용을 살펴보면, 소재의 2D, 3D 입체화 표현기술, 3D Virtual 표현기술, 2D, 3D Model 및 의상 DB 개발, Mapping 기술 등을 통합한 Virtual Dressing System(VDS)을 개발하고자 한다. VDS를 통하여 고부가가치 섬유의 신속한 개발, 디자인 기술 향상, 다자간 공동생산지원에 따른 효율적 생산관리가 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 또한, 웹기반 하에 Virtual Dressing System을 개발함으로써 의류 및 패션상품을 3D 형태로 입체적으로 볼 수 있게 함은 물론 가상 코디네이션 연출까지 가능케 함으로써 인터넷 쇼핑몰 상에서 의류, 패션상품의 판매 증대에 기여하고자 한다.
