Third, though the higher section frequency is likely to have more observation time, the interest area of I(3sec/180), II(6sec/360) and III(9sec/540) had higher frequency of Intention. The followings are the results of this study. First, the time range for searching or wandering and the observation characteristics could be estimated by the meaning of observation time by grade with the time-range out of the distribution of sections. Second, at the time distribution by section, when there was intention, the observation time was found to have higher occupation. • We, in Korea, have over two hundred hypermarkets and the number is continuously increasing. We drop into a hypermarket for merchandise, which is an integral part of our life style. So, we should consider safety for employees as well as customers because hundreds of thousands of people use the hypermarket every day. In addition to this consideration, the government should also be a political support relating to accidents that occur in the hypermarket because security and safety matters are important to all of us. But even now, Our security conditions do not match our ideal goal and we take countermeasures after accident or loss. This is a result of not having a security management expert coupled with a chief executive officer that has no idea about security awareness and loss prevention. In addition, we do not have specific laws to address these matters. We also lack reasonable ideas to prevent accident and loss. Now is the right time to revamp the laws and ordinances to improve the quality of civilian life. Prevention of accidents is a needed investment for all security personnel. The best solution for businesses is prevention of accidents. This will increase profits and cost-effectiveness as well as increase customer satisfaction. The company should form a security management department for comprehensive protection of assets. The goal of security management employees should be productive and effective security management. Every employee should have responsibility in mind to prevent accidents in his or her work. In addition, The company should have a systematic organization in place and regular training sessions. The most effective security management comes from cooperation of all members. In the 21st century, we pursue a high standard of living which is a result of our cooperation against any accident and loss. Sennewald says The value of security is better measure by what does not happen rather than what does.

  • Purpose: This study investigates the best appointment pattern which can enhance customer's satisfaction and hospital's efficient management reflecting plastic surgery clinic's service characteristics. Methodology: The data of this study is obtained from Plastic surgery Clinic which is located in the civic center. By collecting and analyzing the data, we build the simulation model using ARENA. Based on 5 appointment patterns that was suggested in formal appointment scheduling studies, we experiment 3 simulation models; 'Basic Appointment Pattern' that has no restriction, 'Restriction on Second Customer' that restricts the number of second customer's in each slot, 'Restriction on Process Time' that restricts the number of second customer who has long process time in each slot. We can check robustness of the appointment patterns by experimenting on off-peak day and peak day, during peak season. Findings: This study confirms that these 2 restrictions can give a better result than 'Basic Appointment Pattern' that just simply distributes customers by number. Especially, the performance of Triangle-like pattern which is the best appointment pattern in the formal study has been improved by adding restrictions. Based on 'DET', 'Restriction on Second Customer' shows a better result. Meanwhile, based on 'E(WT)', 'Restriction on Process Time' shows a better result. Overall, based on 'DET+E(WT)', 'Restriction on Second Customer' shows a better result. Practical Implications: The purpose of each hospital may alter as demand for plastic surgery grows increasingly. Thus, each hospital should be always prepared to introduce appointment pattern for changed purpose. In order to respond flexibly to these changes, it is necessary for medical personnel to improve the awareness or for hospital to create an environment by constructing appointment program so that medical personnel does not need to put more labor on work.

  • Product liability (PL), which began enforcement in 2002, refers to the legal responsibility of the manufacturers or sellers (wholesales or retailers) for the property damage or bodily harm caused by their product. With a strong enforcement of the Product Liability (PL) Act, companies are required to structure and operate a response system to defend or prevent product accidents efficiently, but small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are unable to respond more aggressively due to limitation of management resources. In this manner, it is important to develop response strategies for SMEs to efficiently cope with the PL Act. In this paper, the PEST (Political, Economic, Social, and Technological) analysis is performed to reveal the impact of the PL Act on SMEs in macro-economic point of view. To formulate SME's PL response strategy, SWOT analysis is performed to categorize each factors from PEST analysis and AHP is applied to identify the intensities of SWOT factors. The prioritized SWOT factor, results of PEST-SWOT-AHP analysis, are used to formulate SME's PL response strategies. The study results are briefly summarized as follows. To reduce product defects, it is necessary for SMEs to formulate PL response strategies for each phase of the product life cycle by continuously collecting and analyzing PL cases in the same industry or for similar products. In addition, SMEs should invest more technological effort to ensure product safety. Further, SMEs should spread PL awareness to all staff members by training internal PL experts. Moreover, a SME should enroll in PL insurance and spread this information to its customers so that they become aware that the company is proactively conforming to the PL law.

Thus, this study aimed to discover the attitudes towards and the intentions to reduce restaurant food waste as well as the importance of and intentions to participate in reduction plans among adults customers A self-administrated questionnaire was given to 361 adults (216 men and 145 women) over 20 years old residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. According to the results, the respondents regarded restaurant food waste problems as serious (4.01). The biggest reason for leaving food was concern about hygiene (3.57), followed by tasting food (3.34) and portions that were too large (3.10). 57.6% responded that they try to reduce food waste when dining out. Women over 30 admitted to leaving food when dining out if the food did not taste as expected, if they had health concerns about additives such as condiments, and for body weight management. The overall average degree of awareness on the gravity of restaurant food waste problems was 4.06, indicating that respondents deeply empathized with the matter. Women showed higher alertness compared to men, and respondents in their 30s or over did more than those in their 20s. Also, respondents who try to reduce food waste when dining out had higher levels of concern than those who did not. According to the results from measuring the importance of and intention to participate in restaurant food waste reduction plans, taking away left-over food was the best option. In short, citizenship improvement campaigns should be designed for restaurants and related organizations in order to stimulate the need and effects of efforts to reduce dine-out food waste and induce aggressive participation by consumers. Diverse methods to increase actual consumer participation in food waste reduction plans that show high consumer participation intentions also needs to be developed.
