  • Recently, YouTube's growth started drawing attention. YouTube is not only a content-consumption channel but also provides a space for consumers to express their intention. Consumers share their opinions on YouTube through comments. The study focuses on the text of global entrepreneurs' speeches and the comments in response to those speeches on YouTube. A content analysis was conducted for each speech and comment using the text mining software Leximancer. We analyzed the theme of each entrepreneurial speech and derived topics related to the propensity and characteristics of individual entrepreneurs. In the comments, we found the theme of money, work and need to be common regardless of the content of each speech. Talking into account the different lengths of text, we additionally performed a Prominence Index analysis. We derived time, future, better, best, change, life, business, and need as common keywords for speech contents and viewer comments. Users who watched an entrepreneur's speech on YouTube responded equally to the topics of life, time, future, customer needs, and positive change.

  • The CMI Rules for Electronic Bills of Lading were based on sound principles that are now reflected in the provisions of the Rotterdam Rules, which provide for the use of electronic equivalents to bills of lading. Services involving bills of lading which exist in electronic form for at least part of their lives, and which use encryption to guarantee integrity and security of these electronic records, are already being offered by a number of carriers, among them APL. The relative success of APL's system demonstrates that the use of a system which embodies the basic ideas and processes underlying the CMI Rules could easily become a practical reality in the near future. The basic principles in the CMI Rules and the Rotterdam Rules adopt a minimum requirements approach and does not flesh out the details of procedures for the use of electronic bills. This is an improvement, as it allows adaptability to future technological developments. Successful electronic bill of lading systems can only be developed in response to customer demand, and carriers are in the best position to gauge this and design systems to cater for it. APL has demonstrated this by creating a system which is tailor-made to its customers' requirements. The CMI Rules were correct in their assumption that electronic bill of lading services should be provided by carriers. They also seem to have anticipated that the switch to the electronic medium would not be sudden and complete, but would require a gradual phasing out of paper documents over a long period of time.

  • Consideration of uncertainty has been considered to be an important factor in technology planning due to the fast changes of technologies and customer needs. Therefore, how to consider uncertainty has been a promising issue in developing and utilizing the technology roadmap, a prominent tool for the technology planning. However, previous studies regarding technology roadmaps are based on practical case studies for specific certain industries, which are of course useful but sometimes lack systematic frameworks and methodologies. In response, this study suggests a framework to identify possible scenario elements, analyze the impact of each scenario element and reflect the results to the technology roadmapping process. For this purpose, this study suggests a QFD-based framework that evaluates the relationship between scenario elements and the planning elements, and proposes a basic structure of scenario-based technology roadmaps to reflect the evaluation results to the technology roadmapping process.

  • Purpose - Most of the amendments to the law on the improvement of the distribution structure of mobile communication terminal equipment, the fully self-sufficient system of terminals, and the separated disclosure system on the terminals are aimed at securing transparency of the distribution structure by eliminating or reducing handset subsidies. This study investigates what items are important for the purchase of mobile phones in various and rapidly changing mobile phone markets from the consumer's point of view and tries to make a strategic suggestion for future mobile distribution strategies. Research design, data, and methodology - The procedure of this study takes place in four steps. In step 1, only the SF type respondents selected for this study were extracted through MBTI analysis. In step 2, they were divided into three hierarchies for the AHP analysis and each element was arranged. In step 3, the AHP analysis was converted to a Fuzzy-AHP number using the trigonometric centroid method. This was to eliminate the ambiguity of the response by converting into a fuzzy number even if data consistency was maintained with CI value below 0.1. In step 4, the number of converted 2-layer and 3-layer was combined to derive the priority when the final handset is selected. Results - First, the highest importance among the four items in the second tier was the terminal function item, followed by brand, price, and design item. Second, in the third tier, the highest importance was level of after-sales service, followed by device price, processing speed, ease of use, usefulness, and rate system. Third, the arithmetic average of the determinant of the fuzzy function showed that processing speed, ease of use and usefulness in the function item, level of after-sales service in the brand item, and device price in the price item were the five most important factors among 16 choice factors. Conclusions - First, there will be a change in the consumption patterns of consumers who have compared distributors and dealers to purchase handsets with more subsidies. Second, it is highly likely that people will purchase new handsets only when they need to change their devices because they can not receive subsidies by switching phone brands any more.

  • The current study categorizes factors of smartphone into three, using KANO model: attractive factors which cause only product satisfaction, must-be factors for dissatisfaction, and one-dimensional factors for both. Based on it, it presents a new model for the effects that smartphone factors have on satisfaction or dissatisfaction. The purpose is to theoretically explain that smartphone factors on which companies and users place a high value can actually affect satisfaction or dissatisfaction. After choosing 15 factors out of 25 which had been selected through literature study, these were divided into attractive, must-be, and one-dimensional ones. 93 out of 109 questionnaires returned were used for analysis. After frequency analysis using SPSS were conducted on the surveys, the factors were grouped, based on KANO table. The grouping results are as follows. Attractive factors include 'expansion slots for external memory, battery desorption, brand awareness, mobile banking and internet telephony'. Must-be ones include 'multi-touch, information security, entertainment, information retrieval, location based service and SNS. Finally, 'screen visibility, size of internal memory, the amount of internal memory, battery life, and response to after-sales service' are classified as one-dimensional factors. A critical finding of this paper is that since the results are different depending on the operating system of smartphones, it must be taken into consideration in studies on smartphones. The wide and rapid spread of smartphones has changed people's lifestyle as well as business environment, which forces companies to compete with each other to adapt to the changed circumstances. In this competitive system, studies on smartphone factors of satisfaction and dissatisfaction are essential for firms to establish a new strategy. From this point of view, the present paper is expected to be a basic material for enterprises not only to develop goods and services that maximize customer satisfaction and minimize dissatisfaction, but also to establish the future business strategy.

  • Quality of the web service is one of the most important elements as various web services provide diverse functionality, and therefore, it is more and more difficult to satisfy customer's needs. Since the existing UDDI registry provides the basic information such as name and URL of a web service, users are having hard times to choose and customize their web service. In this paper, we propose an extended UDDI architecture for providing quality data of a web service. And in this architecture, we used an automated collection technique of data for testing web service which provides quality information to the users, including response time, throughput, availability, reliability and accessibility. With this new architecture, users and web developers can benefit from web services that customize information for the users and this ensures reliability of web-based applications.

  • The major purpose of this study is to examine the moderating role of affect intensity, an important individual difference variable, upon affect formation based upon PAD framework from the experience of some dimensions of tavel aency or company. Research findings from the analysis of empirical data are as follow. First of all, four factors of customer's experience of travel agency(Resposiveness; Courtesy; Competency; Differentiation) are related to three affect represented by PAD framework(Pleasure; Arousal; Dominance). Moreover factors of experiences have differential influence upon formation of affective responses. Secondly, customers' Affect Intensity has moderating effects upon the formation of affects by the experience from dimensions of travel agency. The third finding is that the affect induced by travel agency has differential influence upon the formation of attitude toward travel agency and the formation of intention of repurchase of the travel service from that agency.

  • Recently, as managing organization's stakeholders become important, a viewpoint of corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been changed. Unlike in the past, organizations have performed CSR in their active and strategic point of view. Previous studies about the effect of social responsibility generally focused on customer response, social performance, and financial performance, and studies about the influence on business processes and organizational members are relatively not sufficient. In particular, there is few studies about the relationship among CSR, organization's innovation capability, and non-financial performance. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of CSR to knowledge management and organizational performance by using multiple regression analysis. Specifically, from the empirical result of this study with 256 Korean finns in diverse industries including the manufacturing, we identified that CSR has positive influence on knowledge management and organizational performance.
