A Study on the Development and Application of Cryptography Teaching Program for Vocational High School Mathematics (상업 정보 계열 고등학교 암호 교육 프로그램 개발 및 적용에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a contents when we are going to introduce cryptography and information security for vocational high school students. For this we do a survey of the students' level for understanding of information security and the 7th curriculum for school mathematics, 2007 revised curriculum for school mathematics, the curriculum for vocational high school, and we search for the material that connects between mathematics subjects and vocational subjects. We develop a text book that introduces information security and cryptography. After we teach vocational high school students by using this developed book, we get the result that learning cryptography with computer programming makes a good motivation of learning mathematics and roles a parameter between mathematics curriculum and vocational curriculum. As a result we propose that the developed contents can be used in 'Practical Mathematics' in the 7th curriculum for school mathematics or 'Application of Mathematics' in 2007 revised curriculum for school mathematics.

The Development and Operation of A Connected Curriculum Model between Vocational High School and General High School (실업계고등학교와 일반계고등학교의 연계 교육과정 모형 개발과 운영)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and operate a curriculum which is able to connect a vocational high school to a general high school. That curriculum makes it possible to meet the necessity of accepting the learning rights for the students of a small scale school located in a rural community. And also, it is able to broaden the implementation of the elective-centered curriculum in the $7^{th}$ curriculum. So, We developed a connected curriculum model which fulfills to the utmost the requirement of a few students who want to go to a collage after finishing vocational high school and who want to get a job after finishing general high school in a electing their subjects and then operated it with student's moving to the connected schools on a Saturday. In this study, we got the results as follows: First, we prepared the curriculum environments which can accept the learning-demands of students in a small scale school located in a rural community. To do so, we publicized the curriculum of a vocational high school connected to that of a general high school, made questions, and organized the committee of students, parents and teachers and so on. Second, we organized and implemented the connected curriculum so that a small number of students could learn the subjects they demands. So, a small number of the vocational high school students could have learned the 'Math I' and 'English Conversation' which were not allowed in their school. And also, a small number of the general high school students who hope to have an occupation after graduation could have learned 'Web Design' subject. Third, we examined the problems and presented the solving methods according to organizing and implementing the connected curriculum. So we could have served as an aid on building up the foundation of the generation of the elective-centered curriculum.

  • Now Vocational High School have many Problems. The Alternative proposal, to easy go on to university of same tract can not a substitute of the basic cause. Vocational High School is needed to the practical curriculum for her place. This article analyzes the problems of the Computer Education Curriculum for Vocational High School by compared with the demanded Curriculum, haying his or her Career when the student complete the Vocational High School course.

  • The purposes of this research are to analyze and compare curriculum of vocational high schools. In order to complete the purposes, the method of curriculum document analysis was used. Analysis subjects are Meister high schools, Technical high schools and Electronic high schools operating electron-related departments in Daegu and Gyungsangbuk-do. The conclusions of this research are as follows: Firstly, the educational goals of the vocational high schools were largely to educate professional men. The educational goals of vocational high school need to be improved in terms of high school's general educational goals and character education. Secondly, curriculum of vocational high schools consists of general subjects and specialized subjects and the rates of them vary according to region and school type. Thirdly, there were various general subjects by region and school type. Each school needs to organize the subjects to suit the progress of their students and graduates. Finally, there is a need to review the scope and sequence of specialized subjects.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest some activation plans of vocational home economics high school education by analyzing the actual conditions of vocational home economics high school education and surveying teachers and students' recognition and their needs toward the present vocational home economics high school education. The data were collected through reference analysis. questionnaire and interview method. They were analyzed using SPSS. The outline of this study was as follows: First. some data for examining the development trends of vocational home economics were collected especially in terms of the social and economical change related to vocational home economics education. the development of vocational home economics education based on the current curriculum. and some trends of vocational home economics education in foreign countries. Second. the real conditions of vocational home economics high school education were analyzed according to the real conditions of curriculum management in vocational home economics high schools. Based on this result. a questionnaire was designed to survey teachers and students' recognition and their needs. The items consisted mainly of the curriculum management and satisfaction of school life. Third. some activation plans of vocational home economics high school education were proposed in terms of management system(3 items). curriculum management(5 items). security of teachers and their expertise(4 items). and administration and finance(3 items).

Exploring Activation Plan for Entrepreneurship Education in Vocational High School (직업계고 창업교육 활성화 방안 탐색)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop methods to practice and revitalize entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools. To achieve this goal, we analyzed the vocational high school program as well as effective entrepreneurship education programs at vocational high schools. In addition, FGI (Focus Group Interview) was conducted to determine strategies for developing entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools. The results were as follows. First, curriculum formation was found to important for vitalizing entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools. It is necessary to develop vocational high schools to account for the 4th Industrial Revolution as well as develop students' competence in entrepreneurship as the basis for the curriculum. Second, the operational aspect of the entrepreneurship education curriculum must be considered. Entrepreneurship education linked to regular curriculum is needed. Third, the competence of school members is an important factor for the efficient operation of vocational high school entrepreneurship education. Fourth, entrepreneurship education can consist of various educational activities through connection with the school and community. Based on these results, operating vocational high school entrepreneurship education will enable practical and dynamic entrepreneurship education at vocational high schools.

A Study on the Implementation of Vocational Home Economics Program at Senior High School (고등학교 가정계 직업 교육 프로그램 운영에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at seeking how to activate and operate vocational home economics curriculum efficiently. We collected data from school district offices in the nation and questionaries to 37 high school teachers in charge of vocational home economics, 30 teachers in charge of vocational course, 305 students of vocational school, and 135 students on vocational course for the recognition of and request for vocational home economics curriculum. Collected data were analysed by frequency, percentage, and X(sup)2, and SPSS/PC(sup)+ program are used for the statistical analysis. Followings are the outcomes of this study. 1. The number of classes in which vocational home economics is operated has been on the rise since 1986. As for curriculum of vocational high school, 79 classes for clothing, tourism, and childhood education are being operated in 8 schools. 2. Teachers acknowledge vocational training should keep complete and sustaining education and that it should aim ar conduction education which enables students to acquire technical knowledge and to seek a gob. Both teachers and students admit vocational home economics should be carried out so that vocational training can be combined with general education. 3. Teachers put more emphasis on its major field than that general field. As for laboratory classes, teachers complained about the financial lack, while students need for field practice for the purpose of opening the way for combing theory with practice and proposing for scientific study of industrial sites. As for the contents, students considered the technical course size appropriate and they though it is desirable that the ratio of practical class should be increased by more than 60% of that of the current class ratio.

제 7차 교육과정 개정을 위한 가정계 고등학교 교육과정 체제 및 구조 개선 연구

  • This study proposes a model curriculum for Vocational Home Economics High School in the 7th Curriculum Revision. The model in the study is first drawn from the assumptions that reflect ever changing demands of industrial society for Home Economics education. Another perspective employed in the study is historical analysis that focuses on the evolution of the Vocational Home Economics Curricula from the 1st through the 6th revision. This study also employes comparative research tools for the national level comparison such as USA, Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. The proposed model curriculum in this study is concluded from those step-by-step studies as follows:1) Problem definition and design in current curriculum for Vocational Home Economics high school; 2) Needs and roles analysis of Vocational Home Economics high school for the future; and 3)Historical analysis of our curriculum revisions in the past and coparative analysis with other countries. Authors conducted this research project for 3 month period from June 15, 1996 to September 15, 1996. During this period, authors collected the data and information through those method as an extensive literature review, survey and interview, and curriculum specialist conference. The key and critical features of the proposed curriculum in the study are as follows:1) In the numbers of department, a proposed model curriculum offers 8 as opposed to 6 in the 6th revision, reflecting two additional departments of “Elderly Welfare”and “Cosmotology”. 2) In the statement of educational objectives, a model curriculum emphasizes a more concrete statement to each specific skills according to the changing societal needs. 3) In the numbers of total subject matters, there would be 40 in the new as opposed to 23 in the current curriculum. Among these changes, 17 would occurr in the newly introduced subject matters, while 11 would simply change the subject matter name. Among 40 subject matter, “Introduction to Computer” and “Home Economics in Vocational Education”would be required subject matter. 4) In the total numbers of required unit for graduation in three years, a model offers 86∼132 unit. A maximum unit for each subject matter would be 12.

Perception on Outcomes and Challenges of Vocational Education Division CSAT by Industry Department Teachers of Specialized Vocational High School (수능 직업탐구 영역의 성과와 과제에 대한 공업계열 특성화고 현장 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to inquiry of perception on outcomes and challenges of vocational education division CSAT by industry department teachers of specialized vocational high school. Therefore, it is highly desirable that researchers to survey what are the biggest outcomes of vocational education division CSAT and positive ripple effects of outcomes, what are the biggest challenges of vocational education division CSAT and importance of challenges undertaken 10 years. The survey included 100 industry department teachers of specialized vocational high school on 9 region from Korea. The analysis of survey results was by regions, industry department teacher's career of specialized vocational high school. The results are as follows. The biggest outcomes of vocational education division CSAT was extension of opportunity on continuing education and supply a demand for entrance university on specialized vocational high school students. The biggest positive ripple effects of the outcomes was also extension of opportunity on continuing education and supply a demand for entrance university on specialized vocational high school students. The biggest challenges of vocational education division CSAT and importance of challenges was not to use vocational education division CSAT score for the entrance on the most universities.

The Qualitative Study on Application Types and Using Methodology of EBS-CSAT Prep Books of Vocation Education Division in Specialized Vocational High Schools (직업탐구영역 EBS 수능 연계 교재의 학교 현장 활용 형태와 활용 방안에 대한 질적 연구)

  • The objectives of this study were to inquiry of application types and use methodology of EBS-CSAT prep books of vocation education division in specialized vocational high schools. Research participants are 8 specialized vocational high school teachers in Seoul and Gyeonggi, and subjects are basic industry and basic drawing. The teachers had using EBS-CSAT prep books in class or after-school. The results are as follows: The teachers used items explanation of after-school rather than regular classes using EBS-CSAT prep books of vocation education division in specialized vocational high schools. Online lectures were used for self-directed learning of specialized vocational high school students rather than regular classes. Students and teachers of specialized vocational high school needed EBS-CSAT prep books of vocation education division by free gift instead of EBS-CSAT prep books of Korea language, english, math.
