  • PWM(pulse width modulation) rectifier has unit power factor and low harmonic distortion with high power conversion efficiency in entire loading range. These merits of PWM rectifier help the spread of DC distribution system. In addition, if multiple PWM rectifiers can be operated in parallel connection, maintenance process can be simple and reliability of power source can be advanced because of the hot swapping is available. The other way, the load unbalance among rectifiers can force a converter to stop by over current. The surge current by closed circuit composition between rectifiers can force switching devices damage. In this paper, some problems that can occur in case of parallel operation of PWM rectifiers and problem eliminating methods are considered.

  • Many unbalanced factors of underground transmission power cable, such as burying types and the length difference of the cable between each minor section, etc will cause the impedance unbalance and excessive circulating current between cables. So this paper presents the analysis of sheath circulating current in accordance with the distance between the center conductors and phase arrangement. ground resistance value changes on 154kV transmission system. Based on these simulation results, this paper will contribute to the reduction method of sheath circulation current.

  • 엘리베이터는 도르래와 와이어로프 사이의 마찰력으로 구동된다. 균형추는 카의 반대편에 와이어로프로 연결되어 있다. 도르래를 기준으로 항상 무게의 불균형이 발생되는 이러한 구조는 엘리베이터 구동의 핵심이 된다. 이러한 구조 때문에 엘리베이터의 오버밸런스는 구조적 효율과 안전성 요인의 중요한 요소가 된다. 그러나 국내의 승강기 검사 기준에는 아직까지 이러한 부분이 명확하게 기준으로 정의되어 있지 않다. 이 논문에서는 엘리베이터의 사고를 줄이기 위하여 이러한 무게 불균형율 제어에 대하여 기술하였다. 또한 현재 엘리베이터 유지관리 현황을 분석해 보고 안전을 위한 근본적인 개선방안을 제안하고자 한다.

  • An EMC analysis of a switched mode power supply (SMPS) have been usually using unbalance circuit topologies and the major factor of disturbance is parasitic capacitance. We have proposed a balanced switching converter circuit, which is an effective way to reduce the common mode conducted noise. In this paper presents the relationship between common mode current and radiated field.

  • For electric traction using a large power converter, harmonic problem in the p-ower quality and regenerating energy in side of efficiency are important. Recently, by advance in power electronics technology, some countries are considering regenerative inverter from the points of view. when the electric tractions are stopped or driven through the falling slope way, it is very useful to supply surplus energy to the power source by regenerating system in the efficient side of energy and it is very economical. these regenerating energy are supported electrical equipment through DC line. In this research, the purposes are suppressing extra DC-line voltage and saving energy generated while electric traction is been driving on the falling slope way or reducing speed for railway using a 1500V DC-voltage. Besides, the accompanied defects of current distortion, low power factor and the voltage unbalance will be solved by developing the algorism of inverter having ability to compensate current harmonic.

교류전기철도 불평형 전력 개선을 위한 전력보상장치 제어 (Power Compensator Control for Improving Unbalanced Power of AC Electric Railway)

  • In this study, we propose a control algorithm to reduce the unbalanced characteristics of a three-phase system power caused by the unbalanced load of the AC electric railway. Then, we verify its performance through the design of a power compensator and experiments applying it. Like electric railway systems, a Scott transformer is applied, and the load and single-phase back-to-back converters are connected to the M-phase and T-phase outputs. The back-to-back converter monitors the difference in active power between the unbalanced loads in real-time and compensates for the power by using bidirectional characteristics. The active power is performed through PI control in the synchronous coordinate system, and DC link overall voltage and voltage balancing control are controlled jointly by M-phase and T-phase converters to improve the responsiveness of the system. To verify the performance of the proposed power compensation device, an experiment was performed under the condition that M-phase 5 kW and T-phase 1 kW unbalanced load. As a result of the experiment, the unbalance rate of the three-phase current after the operation of the power compensator decreases by 58.66% from 65.04% to 6.38%, and the excellent performance of the power compensator proposed in this study is verified.

  • In this paper, the four switches three-phase Z-source rectifier is studied. The conventional three-phase four switches rectifier can only either perform buck or boost operation, distortion and unbalance of the input current are serious. Therefore, we proposed the four switches three-phase Z-source rectifier which can realize buck function simply by applying the Z-impedance network. We will verify characteristics of Z-network by the simulation and experiment.

  • Recently, various activ filters such as current type and voltage type have been proposed to suppress harmonics caused by nonlinear load due to the use of semiconductor switching devices. At the early stage, active filters are used only to suppress harmonics. However, it has been proposed that they offer more functions such as voltage regulations, improvements of power factor and 3 phase unbalance. This study presents a combined function of active filter and a UPSs with one power processing stage.

  • In this paper, a unified regenerative inverter and control algorithm are proposed in order to perform regenerative action and active power filter action. While the regenerative mode of traction, it works as regenerative inverter to reduce a excessive power of DC bus line and the powering mode of the traction, it works as active power filter to compensate ac current distortion, power factor, and voltage unbalance. In the paper, a regeneration inverter used PWM DC/AC inverter algorithm. And an active power filter used p-q theory. We are carrying out a mode analysis of DC traction system similar to actual system with MG-set and experimenting with prototype model. Through the simulation and experiment, we were proving the regeneration inverter operation which suggested in this paper.

  • As the technology of a large scale battery have advanced, it's application to the electric power network have been active in foreign country. By providing the electric power energy stored in the electric power storage system when needed, there are many advantages that it is able to reduce the gap between the electric power demand and supply for day and night to increase capacity factor, to upgrade the electric power quality degraded from the unbalance between power demand and supply and to compensate the fluctuation of wind power plant and photovoltaic power generation. In this study, the current application of electric power storage system using battery is introduced in detail, and I have thought out it's application fields based on the foreign examples. These are demand side response, upgrade of the power quality, stabilization of fluctuation of renewable energy and distributed generation for filling elapse.
