  • In this paper, it is shown that high frequency current can be controlled to concentrate near the desired path in a conducting plate. A conducting plate is modelled to examine current distribution. And current distribution is analyzed in view of the frequency and geometric characteristics of current path. The high frequency current behavior from the analysis is compared with the experiments. The results, obtained by the experiments of test specimens, are in good agreement with the analytical results.

  • Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) is the high efficiency fuel cell operating at high temperatures ranging from 700-1000℃. Design of the flow paths of the fuel and air in SOFCs is important to improve cell performance and prevent cell degradation. However, the uneven distribution of current density in the traditional type having one inlet and outlet causes cell degradation. In this regard, the parallel flow path with two inlet and outlets was designed and compared to the traditional type based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. To check the cell performance, hydrogen distribution, velocity distribution and current density distribution were monitored. The results validated that the parallel designs with two inlets and outlets have a higher cell performance compared to the traditional design with one inlet and outlet due to a larger reaction area. In case of uniform-type paths, more uniform current density distribution was observed with less cross-sectional variation in flow paths. In case of contracted and expanded inflow paths, significant improvement of performance and uniform current density was not observed compared to uniform parallel path. Considering SOFC cell with uniform current density can prevent cell degradation, more suitable design of SOFC cell with less cross-sectional variation in the flow path should be developed. This work can be helpful to understand the role of flow distribution in the SOFC performance.

  • We named the system Visual Path Map which visualizes the distribution of clusters according to characteristics and entire process about exercise prescription, and we purpose to visualize a process according to exercise prescription. Visual Path Map visualizes the distribution of clusters according to characteristics, current and object distribution, and changed distribution for prescription. So it visualizes paths from current distribution to object distribution according to prescription. We used SOM in order to express properties along subjects in Visual Path map, and visualized distribution of clusters about physical characteristics, body mass index, and age information of 1,500 ordinary people. Also we visualize practical exercise prescription according to real data of expert of exercise prescription.

  • We show three-dimensional distribution of voltages resulted from the leakage current originated from outdoor electrical facilities in a submerged area. In case these facilities are grounded by the neutral line multiple grounding method, the existence of ungrounded electrical facilities can cause a disastrous effect on near-by passengers. In order to investigate this situation, we installed a real-scale test field for the experiment type I (for the leakage current path between a enclosure grounded electrical facility and another enclosure grounded one), and that for the experiment type II (for the leakage current path between a enclosure grounded electrical facility and another ungrounded one). For both cases, we carried out three-dimensional monitoring of the voltage distribution while varying additional conditions such as the exposure of the underground cables and the finishing of cable connection part. The result shows that a disastrous effect on human safety can arise from the leakage current without a pertinent measure for the construction and maintenance of outdoor electrical facilities.

  • We studied the distribution of the current density and its magnetic-field dependence in GdBCO coated conductors with AC bias currents using low temperature scanning Hall probe microscopy. We selectively measured magnetic field profiles from AC signal obtained by Lock-in technique and calculated current distributions by inversion calculation. In order to confirm the AC measurement results, we applied DC current corresponding to RMS value of AC current and compared distribution of AC and DC transport current. We carried out the same measurements at various external DC magnetic fields, and investigated field dependence of AC current distribution. We notice that the AC current distribution unaffected by external magnetic fields and preserved their own path on the contrary to DC current.

  • In this study, we examine the tracking happen in a polyvinyl-chloride-sheathed flat cord (PVCSFC), which is widely used as a distribution cord. The study classifies the bridge current via the formed conductive paths during tracking in the PVCSFC. Further, it attempts to distinguish the characteristics of heat generation and heat transfer by kind of bridge current. When the PVCSFC is in the static state, the bridge currents flow only through the electrolyte bridge. In the case of the carbonized PVCSFC, the bridge currents flow through one or more conductive paths. One is the electrolyte bridge, the other is the bridge that is consisted electrolyte and carbonized insulation. Currents flowing through different conductive paths have different heat generation and transfer characteristics. As the bridge current flowing in the conductive path consisting of electrolyte and carbonized insulation increases, the temperature difference between the surface of the PVCSFC and ambient air also increases correspondingly.

  • Asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET is a novel transistor to be able to reduce the short channel effects. This paper has analyzed a off current for conduction path of asymmetric DGMOSFET. The conduction path is a average distance from top gate the movement of carrier in channel happens, and a factor to change for oxide thickness of asymmetric DGMOSFET to be able to fabricate differently top and bottom gate oxide thickness, and influenced on off current for top gate voltage. As the conduction path is obtained and off current is calculated for top gate voltage, it is analyzed how conduction path influences on off current with parameters of oxide thickness and channel length. The analytical potential distribution of series form is derived from Poisson's equation to obtain off current. As a result, off current is greatly changed for conduction path, and we know threshold voltage and subthreshold swing are changed for this reasons.

  • The effect of a small discharge on the A.C (60Hz) breakdown characteristics in SF6 gas has been studied. Various experiments were investigated while varying distance of the rod-plane electrode, the gas pressure, and the magnitude of the small discharge current. Also, the position of the discharge path was observed for the purpose of evident investigation. As the results of this study, authors clarified the shifting mechanism of the position of discharge path with the ratio Rn (E/N distribution at a certain higher tempera-ture due to the small discharge current to E/N distribution at room temperature, E:electric field strength, N:particle number density). Also, the reason for the reduction of the A.C. breakdown voltage was investigated in the presence of a small discharge current.

  • In this paper, movement of conduction path has been analyzed for electron distribution in the channel of double gate(DG) MOSFET. The analytical potential distribution model of Poisson equation, validated in previous researches, has been used to analyze transport characteristics. DGMOSFETs have the adventage to be able to reduce short channel effects due to improvement for controllability of current by two gate voltages. Since short channel effects have been occurred in subthreshold region including threshold region, the analysis of transport characteristics in subthreshold region is very important. Also transport characteristics have been influenced on the deviation of electron distribution and conduction path. In this study, the influence of electron distribution on conduction path has been analyzed according to intensity and distribution of doping and channel dimension.

  • This paper proposes a FRTU-based intelligent fault distance determination strategy in which each FRTU is able to avoid multiple estimations and reduce the level of estimation error by utilizing heuristic rules driven by voltage and current information collected by 1:1 communication with other FRTUs from the same zone in a ubiquitous-based distribution system. In the proposed method, each FRTU, at first, determines a fault zone and a fault path on the faulted zone based on the proposed heuristic rules which use its current data and the voltage data of its neighboring FRTUs as input data. Next, it determines the fault distance from its position based on the fault current estimated from the current data of the neighboring FRTUs. Finally, in order to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method, the diverse fault cases are simulated in several positions of the typical distribution system using the EMTP.
