This study was carried out as a basic fundamental research to propose a theoretical framework for Home Economics curriculum. This research employed the Delphi Method to reach a consensus with the experts in each related educational field of study for putting forth a newly proposed theoretical framework of a Home Economics curriculum. The finally proposed theoretical framework will definitely play a crucial role in establishing a standard framework for educational goals and curriculum content for Home Economics curriculum since it is put forth with a strong agreement from a high proportion of the expert groups. Results on the nature and characteristics of, structural framework of curriculum contents, and literacy through Home Economics were drawn from the 3-round Delphi survey: 1. Home economics has a liberal and practical-critical nature and it promotes enhancement of quality of life through a practical problem-solving process in maintaining family life. 2. The structural framework of the home economics curriculum contents is organized with three-dimensional components of content area (dimension 1), process area (dimension 2), focus of organizing content (dimension 3). 3. One's empowering capability through home economics education is proposed: inquiring knowledge and understanding phenomena for future society, solving practical problems in family life, developing higher order thinking skill, cultivating a positive attitude and a values system toward life.
Objectives: In this comparative analytic study the standard competency of American Dental Hygienists proposed by the America Dental Education Association was examined and compared with the competency of American school of entry-level to identify the competence required by domestic dental hygienists. Methods: Based on the standard competency presented by the America Dental Education Association the 109 schools which provide respective dental hygiene competency among 336 universities and colleges belonging to the entry-level were compared with each other, and the collected data were processed by SPSS 21.0. Results: The descriptive statistics upon overall competence were prepared and the results of survey revealed the highest average score of 7.53 for the Core competency. It was identified that there were statistically significant difference between two groups of the above(the top 25%) and below the average level(the 25% from the bottom) in all the competency. The competency of participation in local community and patients' care were appeared as significant variables affecting the core competency of dental hygienists with the 76.4% of explanatory power, and the model reveals the statistically significant results(p<0.001). Conclusions: Based on these results it was identified that the ethical, communication skill, self-development efforts, and capability of critical thinking and judgment were necessary competency for the dental hygienists. Further efforts to integrate and standardize the competency of domestic dental hygienists are thus needed and based on these integrated and standardized competencies the integrated curricula to cultivate domestic dental hygienists should be developed.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to prove, through the design and operation of a teaching learning model for clinical dental hygiene and practice III, the effectiveness of the flipped learning PARTNER model. Methods: A professional council was formed, composed of three professors of dental hygiene and one professor of education; each member was an expert with a Ph.D. From December 2018 to February 2019. Results: Learning preferences for the clinical learning hygiene curriculum based on flip learning showed that it had higher accessibility than traditional teaching methods. Subjects' motivation to learn was improved through flip learning, their critical thinking ability was improved through active discussion and flip team discussion, and their self-directed learning ability was also improved. Participation increased through flipped learning, and subjects' skill abilities showed their highest score by improving their performance through the whole lecture. A high satisfaction of 4.54 out of 5 points was achieved. Conclusions: It was confirmed that the development and operation of a flipped learning-based clinical hygiene curriculum can provide an effective and satisfactory learning process.
In this study we have developed programs to enhance the scientific creativity by reviewing literature on the creativity and analyzing the theoretical models related to gifted education. The scientific creativity is regarded as the process of problem solving and problem finding, in particular, solving and finding the ill-defined but significant problems. In general, the important components of the scientific creativity are considered as the scientific knowledge, process skill, divergent/critical thinking, ill-defined problem, and problem finding. The program developed for the purpose of the study is composed of three stages based on Renzulli's model : general exploratory activities, group training activities and individual and small group investigations of real problems. The developed program in this study consists of 4 themes, 15 school hours in the earth science area. The process and products of the program development as well as the background of the present research are described and discussed in detail.

The purposes of this study are to compare and analyze archival curriculums in Korea and the United States in aspects of specializations, changes, relationships between archival science and library and information science, numbers of the courses and their proportions, and to suggest a future direction of the revised archival curriculum. Archival Science in Korea needs to prepare a more systematic and firm foundation by opening commonly required or prerequisite courses according to each component of the archival body of knowledge. Based upon the reinforcement of the methods of using information technology in integrated environment and development of critical thinking skills, the effectiveness of archival management should be approached in curriculum. And strengthening of research skill through providing of systematic practicum and internship, seminar, workshops and writing thesis will prepare problem solving skills in complicated archival work.

The purpose of this research was to develop the tools needed to evaluate the effectiveness of using digital textbooks and smart education. We then developed the tools to evaluate the effectiveness of smart education and digital textbook utilization, which were an identification of 1) seven essential 21st century skills, definitions of each, and prerequisite abilities; 2) five 21st century teacher competencies, definitions of each, and prerequisite abilities; To develop the questionnaire, we conducted a literature review in this area, consulted experts, observed classes, interviewed members of focus groups, and met with policy makers from the Ministry of Education and KERIS. The student questionnaire(26 Questions developed) included; creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, communication, collaboration, ICT literacy, self-directed learning, and adaptability. The teacher questionnaire(24 questions developed) included; 21st Century Skills, ICT Literacy, Rapport building with learners, Instructional design, Evaluation and reflection. The tools we developed will be able to use for evaluating the effectiveness of smart education and digital textbooks.
The Social Conflict Index in Korea is considerably high. In the situation where both parties' interests conflict each other, Korean society has shown immature democracy, which couldn't peacefully resolve the conflict because of the lack of tolerance against the counterparty's position. In terms of upbringing educated citizens, who could democratically communicate with others and approach problems, communication skill training is very important, reducing social costs by extreme conflict. Thus, this paper studied the necessity of communication skills training and its sociopolitical implication through case studies about "Communication and Negotiation" class, which is proceeded under university liberal education. Under current university curriculums, increased liberal education programs, related with speaking, focus on cultivating logical and critical thinking in the main. Based on these thinking skills, "Communication and Negotiation" has important implication in terms of cultivating mindset which resolves conflicts and considers other's position by collaborative and emotional perspectives. In terms of cultivating practical communication skills, this "Communication and Negotiation" class requires the change of teaching skills with various training programs, under students' active participation and feedback in the class exercise for resolving problems. Ultimately, through "Communication and Negotiation" class, and as members of society, students could learn matured citizenship and sense of responsibility by respecting others' position and reasonably resolving conflicts.

The purpose of the study was to describe the operating status of "Logic and Writing in Home Economics Education(HEE)" course and the students' perception about the course. For this study, the syllabuses of "Logic and Writing" course in HE education department were reviewed. The survey method was used in this descriptive study. Respondents in this study were 116 students taking the "Logic and Writing in Home Economics Education" course. Questionnaires from the students were collected through on-line and off-line mail. The results of the study were as the follows: First, goals of the "Logic and Writing in HE Education" course were as the follows in order: to enhance writing skill about various subjects related to Home Economics; to foster HE teachers' professionalism through persuasive power logically; to foster writing skill logically; to prepare HE teacher recruitment exam; and to foster teaching skills to enhance students' writing. The student evaluation methods in the course were mainly attendance, examination, tasks, discussion and presentation, and class participation. Second, degree of satisfaction of students taking the course was higher than average. The student respondents perceived that the course was helpful to improve their logical thinking and critical analytical skill, writing skill related to HE education and education, ability to express one's opinion clearly and exactly, understanding of the fundamental concept of logic and the structure and method of the essay, comprehensive understanding of HE education, and ability to solve the problems specifically. However, they responded that it was difficult to practice writing, to discuss and debate frequently, to follow uncertain assessment criteria, and to present frequently. They wanted the instructor to give the feedback more frequently.
We analyzed the relationship between the brain Dominance and the scientific creative problem solving utilizing propensity to target Science-Gifted Student (n=159). Brain dominance is divided into left upper brain (LUB), left lower brain (LLB), right lower brain (RLB), and right upper brain (RUB). Creative problem solving skill in science included validity, scientific characteristics, sophistication, originality, and fluency. Analysis of the results of this study showed a high frequency among the four types of the brain dominance is the highest score of LUB in science gifted group. This point was found that the tendency of the analytical and critical thinking that is characteristic of the LUB is strong scientific gifted group. When total sample was divided into high and low groups by scientific creative problem solving scores, in the analysis of the brain dominance score difference between the two groups of students who take advantage of the results of score RUB is compared to the high fluency group score higher than the low group found (p<0.05). The analysis of the correlation between brain dominance and scientific creative problem solving showed that originality and fluency had statistically significant correlation with RUB propensity score (p<0.05). This result suggests that the imaginative and challenging RUB propensity may be related to produce many and original ideas in scientific creative problem solving.
This study aims to explore the effect of an appropriate technology program related to water acquisition and purification on scientific attitudes and creative problem-solving skills in elementary school students. Thus, this study developed a learning program related to the appropriate technology composed of 8 sessions, and some were for exploring water acquisition-related scientific principles and the appropriated technology of Warka Tower, and the others were for conducting water purification-related inquiry experiments, such as Life Straw and Drinkable Book, and the last two sessions were for presenting practical tasks through creative ideas and designs and carrying out the relevant campaign activities. For research subjects, this study selected 51 students from two sixth-grade classes, and after modifying the scientific attitude questionnaire and the creative problem-solving skill questionnaire fit for the environment and situation, this study conducted a paired-sample t-test by applying both the questionnaires before and after this program. In addition, while looking into the correlation between scientific attitudes and creative problem-solving skills, based on the post-test results, this study examined relationships between sub-domains perceived by the students after this program was applied. The results can be summarized as below. Out of all the scientific attitudes, curiosity, openness, cooperation, and creativity showed statistically significant results with an increase in the average value when their overall averages of the pre-test were compared with those of the post-test. With creative problem-solving skills, the domain of mastering a specific area and the domain of divergent thinking showed statistically significant results. The correlation analysis results showed that cooperation out of the scientific attitudes had a significant correlation with all the domains of creative problem-solving skills, especially showing the highest correlation coefficient with such sub-domains as critical and logical thinking. All the four domains of creative problem-solving skills showed a number of significant correlations with the sub-domains of scientific attitudes. Through the research results above, this study has several implications on how and where to apply such appropriate technology-related topics in the future and various responses from students.
