  • The purpose of this study was to identify whether need of cognition have a mediating effect on media multitasking on learning engagement in online education. The subjects were 168 university students who had received online education for more than one semester, and data were collected using questionnaires on media multitasking, need of cognition, and learning engagement. For data analysis, correlation, hierarchical regression and Sobel test were performed using SPSS WIN 20.0 program. As a result of the study, there was a significant positive correlation between media multitasking and learning engagement (r=.52, p<.001), and a between need of cognition and learning engagement(r=.39, p<.001). Media multitasking had a significant effect on learning participation (β=.52, p<.001), and explanatory power was 27%. When need of cognition was input, the effect of media multitasking on learning engagement decreased (β=.52 ⟶ .44), so it was found that need of cognition had a partial mediating effect in the effect of media multitasking on learning engagement(Z=2.77). p<.01). Therefore, it is suggested to use online contents with learning to organizing a g a lesson syllabus for distance education, and to organize activities promoting media multitasking activities. Also, it is proposed to develop and apply various teaching strategies to promoting the need of cognition in the distance education.

  • This study was conducted to identify the factors that influence the other behaviors taken by nursing students during online lectures. The study subjects were 304 nursing students in three universities. Data were collected between April 20 and 30, 2020, using by completing structured self report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression using SPSS 26.0 program. In correlation analysis, significant negative correlations were found between other behaviors, interest(r=-17, p<.01), understanding(r=-19, p<.01), needs(r=-12, p<.05), learning motivation(r=-12, p<.05), self-regulation efficacy(r=-11, p<.05), learning confidence(r=-14, p<.05), lecture satisfaction(r=-22, p<.01), lecture flow(r=-24, p<.01). In the multiple regression analysis, learning confidence, prefer to discuss & present (β=.19), lecture flow(β=-.15), lecture satisfaction(β=-.15) were statistically significant factors that explained 10.6% of variance of other behaviors taken by nursing students during online lectures. Thus, we suggest to develop that teaching methods and programs to reduce other behaviors taken by nursing students during online lectures.

  • This study aims to explore efficient foreign language learning paradigm with a focus on reading fluency and accuracy. From a perspective of language acquisition in the foreign language context, the priority in the L2 learning between accuracy and fluency has been a very important issue. Fluency becomes an important issue due to many researchers' interests in the L1 and L2 classroom. Although both accuracy and fluency are crucial, the paradigm shift from fluency to accuracy is necessary in the foreign language teaching. In this context, as an alternative methodology for L2 learners' fluency, the extensive reading approach is provided. A number of studies have suggested that extensive reading program could lead to improvement of L2 learners' reading rate and is an effective approach to improving general language proficiency.

  • Adolescence is a period when ego resilience, the ability to overcome stress, is important because self-identity is not established. Culture and arts education has various effects on the ego resilience of adolescents, so school culture arts education and social culture arts education use teaching and learning methods appropriate to the situation of adolescents. Self-understanding of the effects of culture and arts education has a significant effect on emotional control, vitality, interpersonal relationships, optimism, and curiosity of adolescent ego resilience, On the other hand, it was found that emotional stability among the effects of culture and arts education did not have a significant effect on all factors of adolescent ego resilience. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare a plan to provide opportunities for career exploration as a more practical program for adolescence to understand themselves and develop themselves. In addition, Culture and arts education should be conducted with convergence research that enables youths to maintain good relationships with others, have high self-confidence, and play a role in a wide range of stable and mature lives.
