Development of VR-Based Safety Education Content for Sailors (VR 기반 선원 안전교육용 콘텐츠 개발)

  • Every year, many shipping companies provide seaman safety education programs periodically to reduce ocean-traffic accidents. However, undertaking the regular safety training for seaman has been difficult because of litimation of space and time. Recently, VR technolgy is received attentions to overcome previous problems. It can provide users educational interactions between a user and virtual environment and fulfill sustainable teaching. In this paper, VR-based safety education content for sailors has been developed, and it includes four programs. Also, survey was conducted with four questionnaires such as immersiveness, easy to experience, satisfaction of education contents, comparative evaluation between traditional education program and VR education contents. As the result, immersiveness questionnaire could be gain 53.83% positive assessment, and easy to experience could be gain 65.38% positive assessment, and satisfaction could be gain 69.23% positive assessment. Lastly, comparative evaluation between traditional education program and VR education contents could be gain about 46% positive and 34% neutral assessments.

  • The development of content for language education using AR/VR technology is a necessary task to be pursued in line with commercialization of 5G. Research on service platform for systematic management and service is currently being carried out by global companies competitively, The unique language education service model for unique areas of culture has the right to pursue R & D jointly with Korea and China. In this study, we applied the developed "Korean language education service platform for Chinese people based on e-learning" to improve the acceptance of AR/VR contents and applied AR/VR technology to video-based language education contents. And to present a new paradigm of language education. Contents development is to develop AR-based vocabulary learning services, develop experiential learning contents for VR-based step-by-step situations, and gradually develop contents to enable beginner / intermediate / advanced language education services. The service platform enables management of learning management and learning contents, and complies with metadata attributes to complete a platform capable of accommodating large capacity AR/VR contents. In the future, systematic research will be carried out in order to develop as a portal for educational services through development of various contents using mixed reality technology.

Development and Application of Teaching Competency Tool of University Teachers (대학 교원의 교수역량 도구 개발과 적용 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the teaching competency tool of university teachers with responsibility for college education and analyze the need for change. We have developed teaching competency to strengthen the competencies required for university professors' responsibilities and community activities in and out of universities and the contents validity was examined from 24 experts. The developed tools were used to diagnose the 83 teachers of K university in Chungcheongnam-do, and to derive basic competence, educational practice competence, and community competence through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The teaching competencies include 'Understanding of college education', 'Educational philosophy and attitude', 'Teacher attitude', 'Analysis design', 'Instruction execution', 'Guidance management', 'Evaluation feedback', 'Academic convergence', 'Sympathy learning culture', and 'Global sharing'. The results of the paired t-test and the analysis of the need for change through the analysis of Borich coefficient analysis were as follows: Understanding of university education (4th rank), analysis design (5th rank), instruction execution(2nd rank), empathy learning culture (1st rank), and global sharing (3rd rank). The competence of university teachers is not only the ability to practice teaching, but also the ability to understand university education and to empathize and share with the members of the university community. In the future, the university should actively develop and provide ongoing support programs to strengthen the capacity of professors.

  • IPTV, a convergence service of broadcasting and communication, draws an attention as an educational media that provides various advantages including top quality of screen, easy access, and protection from harmful contents. In addition, a successful IPTV learning requires learners' active participations. Yet, the research on educational applications of IPTV is at the early stage focusing on teachers and developers' perspectives. Therefore, the present study conducted a survey on learners' current IPTV usage and intentions to use. Reflecting the results of the survey, we developed learner-centered IPTV learning scenarios based on self-regulated learning strategies and suggested its implementations.

The Effectiveness of the Entrepreneurship Education Program for Seniors and the Determinants of Entrepreneurial Intention (시니어 창업교육프로그램의 효과성 및 창업의지 영향요인에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the education program developed to raise the potential of entrepreneurial capabilities of senior citizens under the supervision of SMBA and investigate the effects of educational contents and environment on program satisfaction and entrepreneurial intention. The sample of this study was composed of 44 trainees who participated in the education program implemented by H University. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires and analyzed employing paired-sample t-test and path analysis techniques. The study found that the program was effective in strengthening the potential of entrepreneurial capabilities of senior citizens and that educational content and environment had positive effects on program satisfaction, which in turn, positively impacted on entrepreneurial intention. The practical implications of the findings were discussed and the future directions for research were suggested.

Analyses of the Patterns of the Synchronous and Asynchronous Social Media Usage in College e-Learning Settings (대학 이러닝 환경에서 실시간과 비실시간 소셜미디어 활용유형 차이분석)

  • As information technology has been developed in a rapid way, a lot of users get to be familiar with social media. Accordingly, the possibility of social media for educational use has increased. From the view point of learning, social media help learners make communities of practice that can lead to collective intelligence. In this study, two different types of social media, synchronous and asynchronous, were compared in terms of usage patterns in the e-learning settings of college level. Content analysis has figured out four factors: learning content, tasks and assignments, emotional communications, and chatting. There found to be a statistical differences in the postings in all of the factors except tasks and assignments. In the qualitative interviews, the participants told various usage patterns of synchronous and asynchronous social media. In sum, the learners generally preferred synchronous social media. Rather, asynchronous social media were mainly used for deep thinking and summarizing. Last, suggestions were made to improve educational environments for the learners in the digital and social media age.

A Development of Traffic Safety Education Application Using Mixed Reality (혼합현실을 활용한 교통 안전교육 애플리케이션 개발)

  • In this study, we developed a "Zetton Children's Traffic Safety Education" application using mixed reality to help children experience a variety of traffic situations indirectly and to help them defend themselves from accidents. We analyze the types of high mortality child traffic accidents to set learning goal. And we developed the experience-oriented contents that players could acquire signal systems and traffic information naturally and funny in the course of playing scenarios according to designed various traffic situations. In order to verify the educational effectiveness of the developed application, children were given traffic safety education through after-school education activities. The result shows that the frequency of right answers to questions related to traffic safety awareness and learning objectives is increased.

Designing public service design education program to strengthen public service competencies -Focused on the case of workshop for policy providers- (공공서비스 역량 강화를 위한 공공서비스디자인 교육 프로그램 설계 -정책공급자 대상 워크숍 사례를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to design public service design education to strengthen the public service competencies of policy providers necessary in the changing service administration era and to confirm the effectiveness through empirical cases. Based on the theoretical research of public service and public service design, an educational program linking public service competency elements with public service design methodology was designed, and the effects through case studies and surveys demonstrated through workshops were confirmed. Team activities and practice-oriented methods and tools based on the contents of the public service design project were particularly effective in strengthening collaboration and communication competencies, and overall satisfaction was confirmed. The educational program model of this study is meaningful by presenting and demonstrating practical education linking public service competencies for policy providers, and future studies will subdivide and verify the effectiveness of competency-based education model design.

  • Software in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is becoming a key foundation in an intelligent information society. Therefore, it is necessary to study the new direction of manpower training and education that can cope with the times. To this end, the Ministry of Education reorganized the curriculum and is implementing software education based on a logical problem-solving process based on computing thinking skills rather than acquiring general ICT knowledge. However, there is a lack of securing high-quality educational content for software education, and there is also a lack of teaching aids that can be taught in connection with advanced IT technologies. To overcome this, this paper proposes the development of external expansion devices to expand educational content and functions capable of convergent software education such as artificial intelligence using coding robots for software education. Through this, effective software education is possible by improving the curriculum of the existing simple problem-solving method and developing various learning materials.

A Needs Analysis of Educational Content for Overseas Job Applicants in the Digital Bio-health Industry

  • Background: The globalization of the healthcare industry and the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the global healthcare industry have opened up opportunities for specialized biotech healthcare professionals to seek overseas employment and career advancement. Objects: This study aimed to develop educational content essential for the overseas employment of digital bio-health professionals. Methods: A survey was conducted among 196 participants. Google Forms (Google) were utilized to create and administer the survey, employing purposive sampling, a non-probability sampling method. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25.0 (IBM Co.), including Cronbach's α and independent sample t-tests to assess significant differences. Results: About half of college students are interested in overseas employment and international careers, while the other half had not. The most common reason for wanting to work or go overseas was "foreign experience will be useful for future activities in Korea." Students who had experience taking courses from the Bio-health Convergence Open Sharing University preferred overseas programs more than those who did not have that experience. In terms of the degree of desire for overseas education courses provided by universities, contents related to human health were the highest, followed by bio-health big data. Conclusion: Many students wanted to work and go overseas if there is sufficient support from the university. The findings in this study suggest that universities are necessary to play an important role in supporting students' aspirations to work or go overseas by providing language education, education and training programs, information on overseas jobs, and mentoring programs.
