The purpose of this study is to figure out the impacts of technological innovation and cost management on productivity in small shipping industries to come up with developmental implications. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 150 workers in small shipbuilding industries through April 2 to April 20, 2012. As for findings stated above, technological innovation and cost management in the Korean small shipbuilding industries were key factors that elevate financial and non-financial productivity. In the light of low technological prowess and cost structure of small shipbuilding industries, their productivity can be improved when intensive cost management with production factor technology as know-how is realized through quality management, which product development technology is the top priority as an independent niche strategy. Consequently, the combination of infrastructures in small shipbuilding industries with continuous efforts for cost reduction by the link to the systematized structure can't only secure their independent competitiveness, but raise their productivity.

This paper has investigated the effects of employees' organizational cynicism on their organizational commitment and pro-union behavioral intentions in the context of repetitively implementing business innovation program. The cynical responses about the business innovation program & projects have been classified into four categories; Exit, Voice, Loyalty and Neglect. The research samples have been drawn from managers and office employees at four business sites of conglomerates in Korea. According to the analysis, business innovation program which is continuous and repetitive has made managers and office employees have highly cynical attitudes. In turn, the organizational cynicism has accelerated their Exit and Neglect responses, but shrunk Voice and Loyalty responses. As a result, it has been confirmed that the organizational cynicism has a direct effect on organizational commitment and pro-union behavioral intentions. In addition, it has been concluded that Exit and Neglect had a negative effect on organizational commitment but a positive effect on pro-union behavioral intentions. Even though Voice and Loyalty had a positive effect on organizational commitment, they had no significant effect on pro-union behavioral intentions. Furthermore, no mediating effect has been detected. Implications and suggestions for future research were then discussed.

To investigate the seismic pounding response of long-span bridges with high-piers under strong ground motions, shaking table tests were performed on a 1/10-scaled bridge model consisting of three continuous spans with rigid frames and one simply-supported span. The seismic pounding responses of this bridge model under different earthquake excitations including the uniform excitation and the traveling wave excitations were experimentally studied. The influence of dampers to the seismic pounding effects at the expansion joints was analyzed through nonlinear dynamic analyses in this research. The seismic pounding effects obtained from numerical analyses of the bridge model are in favorable agreement with the experimental results. Seismic pounding effect of bridge superstructures is dependent on the structural dynamic properties of the adjacent spans and characteristics of ground motions. Moreover, supplemental damping can effectively mitigate pounding effects of the bridge superstructures, and reduce the base shear forces of the bridge piers.

This study began the study by instructing enterprises to change Batch Production into U-Line. This study suggested TPS U-Line building model process and applied it to some of their product line. By connecting concerned process elements into continuous operations. Outside orders were also switched to inside operations and executed in continuous operations, thereby about 100Km of transit distance became zero Km, Production lead Time was incredibly reduced. After all, 90% of Production Lead Time, 50% of handling fault, 3/4 of workers decreased and Productivity per Person enhanced which involves improving Batch Production into Continuous Production and applies it to the real world, so that small and medium enterprises can consult this study if the company is willing to make an improvement to their product line.

Continuous usages of Internet Protocol Television(IPTV) is regarded as one of key factors for IPTV success. Quality improvement and increasing user satisfaction are generally contributed to intention to continue using of innovation technology. We classify the quality constructs into information quality, service quality, system quality, and experience quality and find how these constructs affect on user satisfaction and intention to continue using of IPTV. We perform factor analysis to IPTV users by developing a causal relationship model and defining measurement variables for the constructs. Through regression analysis, we found information quality and experience quality are significant to affect on intention to continue using of IPTV.

A hybrid bridge deck is proposed, which includes steel bars, concrete and glass-fiber-reinforced-polymer (GFRP) plates with channel sections. The steel bar in the negative moment region can increase the flexural stiffness, improve the ductility, and reduce the GFRP ratio. Three continuous decks with different steel bar ratios and a simply supported deck were fabricated and tested to study the mechanical performance. The failure mode, deflection, strain distribution, cracks and support reaction were tested and discussed. The steel bar improves the mechanical performance of continuous decks, and a theoretical method is proposed to predict the deformation and the shear capacity. The experimental results show that all specimens failed with shear failure in the positive moment region. The increase of steel bar ratio in the negative moment region can achieve an enhancement in the flexural stiffness and reduce the deflection without increasing GFRP. Moreover, the continuous deck can achieve a yield load, and the negative moment can be carried by GFRP plates after the steel bar yields. Finally, a nonlinear analytical method for the deflection calculation was proposed and verified, with considering the moment redistribution, non-cracked sections and nonlinearity of material. In addition, a simplified calculation method was proposed to predict the shear capacity of GFRP-concrete decks.

360 product photography is one of the realistic media technologies that can observe subjects from various angles as one of the real-world VR production methods. This study examined the effect of 360 product photography on the intention to Continuous Use through the technology acceptance model. The results of the online survey showed that informative, which is the characteristic of 360 product photography, affects both ease of use and perceived usefulness, while reliability and entertainingness affect only perceived usefulness. Internal innovation had an impact on perceived ease, but not on perceived usability. Ease of use, both mediators, had a positive effect on sustained use intention. These findings can be used as a reference for various studies in the field of 360 product photography which is still insufficient. In addition, it can provide strategic implications for the production direction of 360 product photos.

This study summarized longevity factors of enterprises and presented longevity mechanism. By analogy of human aging and corporate longevity, the company's decline and longevity phenomenon were analyzed to derive corporate longevity mechanism, presented domestic and foreign longevity enterprises' cases study using above mechanism. The longevity mechanism first, as the human body restricts free radicals by dietary restrictions, companies also need continuous input efficiency. Second, as cognitive reserve by high thinking activities helps heath lifespan, companies can strengthen their profitability by continuous R&D. Third, as humans improve antioxidant functions by exercise, companies should develop risk management capabilities for environmental changes. This study can contribute to sustainable strategies for corporate managers, ultimately plan to suggest model of evaluation or diagnosis of corporate longevity.

In response to the recent rapid technological and market changes, the importance of the design of ambidextrous organization has been increasingly emphasized as one of the dynamic capabilities. Firms that show a high performance in the rapid technological and market changes appear to design and implement ambidextrous organization successfully. They have achieved both exploitative competence for continuous innovation with product development and exploratory competence for discontinuous innovation with new market and new technologies. We have examined why and how to design and operate ambidextrous organizations and the effects of ambidextrous organizational characteristics on the performance from structural, contextual and leadership perspectives. We conducted case studies on 3 Korean firms that showed different characteristics of industrial product, company size, etc. Longitudinal case studies exhibit different processes of design and operating ambidextrous organization according to innovative strategy and industrial characteristics.
