Effects of Servicescapes in the Hospitality Business on Purchasing Intentions: Indirect Influence of Emotions in Korean Coffee-shop Cases (환대서비스의 물리적 환경이 감정을 통해 구매의도에 미치는 영향 -국내 커피전문점을 중심으로-)

  • Physical environments of service firms have been found to influence on customers' quality and purchase intentions. This study began with the preposition that purchase of service products derived from utilitarian or hedonic needs would be different in the influential path. With cases of Korean coffee-shops, this study found ambient, interior, cleanliness of physical environment directly influence to customers' emotion but indirectly influences to purchase intentions. The study also found, differently from some previous studies, appearances of employees had no effect on emotion nor on purchase intentions.

A Study on Public Relation Activation Plan through Hospital Homepage Contents Analysis (병원 홈페이지 콘텐츠 분석을 통한 홍보활성화방안 연구)

  • This study aimed to identify the effects of contents, to find out the development approaches of promotion and contribute to increase the expectation on medical institutions and wills to use and improve the customer satisfaction on homepages of such medical institutions by analysis on the contents of hospital homepage. This research performed the frequency analysis, cross analysis, t-test correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis and came to the conclusion. In accordance with the research results, since the university hospital homepages had more contents than the homepage of general hospitals and national and public hospitals, the university hospital homepage provided sufficient information to visitors and tried to satisfy the customers and activate the hospital promotion using the homepage contents. On the contrary, the homepage of general hospitals and national and public hospitals had insufficient contents and unique and differentiated contents were not sufficiently provided. On the basis of the results of this study, further study on the approaches to improve the contents of homepage of general hospitals and national and public hospitals will be of great help to activate the hospital promotion by increasing the average number of visitors and page views. Furthermore, it is required to make every endeavor for systematic management and operation and research on promotion using the homepage contents.

A Study on the Subjective of Designation as the Resonable Price Restaurants on Customer (착한가격업소에 대한 소비자의 주관성연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to do the subjective research on how the designation of reasonable price restaurants has an influence on customers' visits to those places and to find out how much the government support policy affects the customers. For these, researchers chose and conducted Q methodology known as Q sort for the analysis of the subjective views of customers to visit the restaurants with a designated resonable price. The analysis work will be conducted in the way that the respondents sort the statement cards. In this process, P samples will be chosen among the statements written by Q target population. Q-sort produced among classified samples is going to be analyzed through Q factor analysis using PC QUANL program. The results can be summarized as follows. customers divide into 4 types. Firstly, type 1 (N=5) is the people who pursue the quantity on value for money. Secondly, type 2 customers (N=2) prefer foods with good taste on value for money. Thirdly, type 3 ones (N=2) put a great value on cleanliness. Finally, type 4 ones (N=1) pursue foods with certification mark. The result shows that each has the unique features, respectively. Each subjective opinion derived from the research looks forward to becoming the foundation for further and various study and being applied to restaurants support policy that the government leads to.

The Effects of Business Startup Attributes on Customer Orientation and Business Startup Performance in the Foodservice Industry (외식산업 창업속성이 고객지향성 및 창업성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to figure out the effects of business startup attributes on customer orientation and business startup performance in the foodservice industry. To achieve this, a survey was carried on 300 entrepreneurs, who are running 5 or more years of restaurants in Seoul, through February 1 to February 28, 2013. The SPSS v. 17.0 statistical package program was used for data analysis. The results were as follows; First, the effect of business startup attributes on the understanding of customers' desires in the foodservice industry showed that business startup funds, business startup location, business startup facilities and business startup products had a significant positive effect on the understanding of customers' desires. Second, the effect of business startup attributes on customer relationship in the foodservice industry showed that business startup funds, business startup facilities and business startup products had a significant positive effect on the customer relationship. Third, the effect of customer orientation on business startup performance in the foodservice industry showed that the understanding of customers' desires and customer relationship had a significant positive effect on the business startup performance. These results suggest that business startup funds, business startup location, business startup facilities and business startup products in the foodservice industry are important, and the customer-oriented understanding of customers' desires and close adherence to customers lead to ultimate performance, supporting a stable management in the long term.

A Study on Effects of Experiential Value of Hotel users for 5 Star Hotels on Usage Satisfaction and Continuous Usage Intention (특급호텔 이용객의 경험가치가 이용만족과 지속적 이용의도에 미치는 영향관계 연구)

  • To continue the growth of use of 5-star hotels by Koreans, who have recently shown the consumption trends pursuing the empirical value of a consumption process, and have turned into core customers of 5-star hotels in Seoul, it is necessary to study factors of experience value pursued by Koreans. As a result, fantasy is identified as a major leading factor in usage satisfaction among experiencial values. So it is important to reflect special concepts and atmospheres for emotional values, such as other world experience, new experience, and high-quality experience. And consumer return on investment was identified as a leading factor in positively affecting usage satisfaction. So it is important to develope a proper products that can enough benefits with reasonable prices. In the relationship between usage satisfaction and continuous usage intention, gender characteristics and occupational characteristics were found to play a moderating role. Male customers, and those with professional and self-employed occupations, were found to have higher continuous usage intention than females and other occupational customers. This is a result of the fact that customers with an economical power are likely to be continuous repeat customers of 5-star hotels, so the necessity of strengthening marketing activities such as research on the development of more differentiated and specialized products, service creation and atmosphere production for excellent consumers group.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of AR digital contents on user learning context. More and more companies using digital contents for their products. Especially, some companies using AR (Augmented Reality) digital contents as a manual of their car. This Application affords diverse information to customers who want to know usage of its interface. Using this application, the study shows the effects of using AR digital contents on user's absorption, physical presence, immersion.

Comparative Study of Internal Dance Troupes' Web Sites Contents (국내 직업무용단의 웹사이트 콘텐츠 비교 분석)

  • This study is to analyze the present condition of internal dance troupes' web sites contents and through this study, we aim at suggesting beneficial plans not only for constructing better web sites and contents for national dance troupes but also for contributing to the development of national dance troupes. In order to achieve this study's object, we selected eight dance troupes that run their own web sites and examined their contents. the conclusions are as following. First, among internal professional dance troupes, Korea National Ballet, Seoul Ballet Theatre and Universal Ballet Company offer the best contents at their home pages and they have the most lively community concerned activities at their internet web sites. Second as for the web sites of municipal(provincial) dance troupes, those of Gyeonggi provincial dance troupe, Daejeon municipal dance troupe, Busan municipal dance troupe, Seoul municipal dance troupe Incheon municipal dance troupe have lots of contents briskly carried on, but those of the others need complementary measures. Third, Seoul ballet theatre and Universal Ballet Company offer lots of information about their activities to satisfy their customers and make the maximum use for public relations ; performance news, the introduction of their members, the story of ballet press reviews, new letters. On the other hand, at the web sites of Metropolitan Dance Theater Provincial Dance Company, there are much fewer contents about their activities which doesn't lead customers to visit their webs.

  • A large steel industry which has nonlinear loads including electric arc furnaces is one of the extra high voltage customers. These nonlinear loads generate harmonic currents and create distortions on the sinusoidal voltage of the power system. Harmonic field measurements have shown that the harmonic contents of a waveform varies with time. A cumulative propablistic approach is the most commonly used method to solve time varying harmonics. In this paper the in varying harmonics of electric arc furnace loads are evaluated by international harmonic standards(IEC 61000-3-6, IEEE 519 and JIS C 61000-3-2).

  • A book review is one of the most important sources of information which provide the descriptive and evaluative contents about books. Reviews have great influence on consumer behavior because they are believed to be more reliable than information provided by sellers. Readers who read a book review includes information about book decide whether they will buy or not. This study examines customer attitude change by book reviews with regarding to different type of information sources(experts and prior customers) and different directions of messages. We address the following research questions: (1) Can positive book reviews with credibility have a positive impact on acceptance of books? (2) Can negative book reviews with credibility have a negative impact on acceptance of books? The results shows that a credibility is an essential factor for affecting customers' mind. When positive book reviews were written, both expert and customer opinions have a positive impact on acceptance of customers. Given negative book reviews of experts, trustworthiness is more important than expertise. However, a objectivity of customer's reviews is more important.

A study on the Effectiveness of Web sites of Food Services in Korea (국내 외식업체의 웹사이트 효율성에 관한 연구)

  • As a result of their web sites about 25 food services, it shows that only 20% of food services are conducting transactions online. As a whole food services in general have mastered the basics of setting up a web site, and it is revealed that some web sites with high average score are using flash s/w, which has a considerable interest in graphic. Family restaurant is the highest in average score and icecream is the lowest. The best individual site is Tonyromas site of Family restaurant sector, the second best site is TGI Friday's of the same Family restaurant sector, the third Pizzahut of pizza sector, and the fourth Lotteria site of Fast food sector. It is suggest that this preliminary study could be advanced by extending the sample size and a program of more extensive statistical analysis by devising. Also it is shows that it is possible for B2B transaction and B2C transaction to be conducted more actively It is suggested that Pizza(60%) and Icecream(40%) of food products which are small in size and easy to be ordered and delivered can be feasible and successful in transactions online. In conclusion, it is very important to keep the contents of web sites up-to-date and attractive to customers, and to establish several ways which can enable customers to interact with food services to induce a dialogue with customers, and it is necessary to introduce new technologies for specific differences of their own sites.
