  • The purpose of this study was aimed to investigate the historical tends of population growth which has reflected direct effect of the ratio of food self sufficiency in Korea between the year of 1910 and 1980. Author divided the whole years between 1910 and 1980 into five different periods ; colonial period from 1910 to 1945, post colonial period from 1945 to 1950, Korean war period from 1950 to 1955, post Korean war period from 1955 to 1960, fast economic growing period 1960~1980. The ratio of national food self sufficiency has been profoundlly affected by dual factors ; rate of population group and increment of GNP which reflect the national economic development. Total food production never reached the level of population growth ratio in Korea. As a result food demand and supply has shown imbalaced condition which leads to import foods from outside contury to compensate food shortage. The increment of GNP sharply cut down the cereal consumption. The consumption of fish, milk, eggs and meat reflected to increase since 1970.

  • The aviation demand forecast field has been actively studied along with the recent growth of the aviation market. In this study, the demand for domestic passenger demand and freight demand was estimated through cross-validation method. As a result, passenger demand is influenced by private consumption growth rate, oil price, and exchange rate. Freight demand is affected by GDP per capita, private consumption growth rate, and oil price. In particular, passenger demand is characterized by temporary external shocks, and freight demand is more affected by economic variables than temporary shocks.

  • Recently, photovoltaic industry needs a new design of Czochralski (Cz) process for higher productivity with reasonable energy consumption as well as solar cell's efficiency. If the process uses the large size reactor for increasing productivity, it is possible to produce a 12-inch, rather than the 8-inch. Also the continuous czochralski process method can be maximized to increase productivity. In this study, it was designed to improve the yield value of ingot with optimal condition which reduce consumption of electrical power. It has increased the productivity of the 12-inch ingot process condition by using CFD simulation. I have found optimal growth rate, by comparing each growth rate the interface shape, Temperature gradient, power consumption. As a result, the optimal process parameters of the growth furnace has been derived to improve for the productivity and to reduce energy. This study will contribute to the improvement of the productivity in the solar cell industry.

  • In order to estimate toxicity of copper, radmium and chromium on survival, growth and oxygen consumption of the estuarine mysid, Neomysis awatschensis, adult and juvenile, the experiments were conducted by renewal bioassay method at $20{\pm}1^{\circ}C\;and\;20{\pm}1\%_{\circ}$ salinity. The $96hr-LC_{50}$ of the mysid exposed to cadmium, copper and chromium was 20.2, 11.3 and $670.4\;{\mu}g/\ell$ in adut and 3.4, 1.9 and $49.4\;{\mu}g/\ell$ in juvenile, respectively, and were ranked in order of toxicity : copper >cadmium >chromium. Survival rates of the mysid exposed to the sublethal concentrations of heavy metals for 40 days were significantly affected by cadmium $\geq1.0\;{\mu}g/\ell$ and copper $\geq0.6\;{\mu}g/\ell$ concentrations. The growth rate of the mysid exposed to $cadmium\geq2.0\;{\mu}g\ell$ and copper $\geq1.2\;{\mu}g/\ell$ concentrations were significantly reduced than that exposed to normal condition, but there was no affect on intermoult period. Oxygen consumption rate of the mysid exposed to heavy metals was significantly reduced with increasing heavy metals concentrations. The results of the present study led us to conclude that concentrations levels cadmium$\geq1.0\;{\mu}g\ell$ and copper $\geq0.6\;{\mu}g\ell$ of the estuarine could markedly affect the distribution and population of the mysid by reduced survival, growth and oxygen consumption rate.

  • The juvenile Bobiids, Faronirobius gymnauchen, were reared for 40 days under $0{\~}33.6{\%_{\circ}}$ salinity conditions to examine the effects of various salinity on its survival, growth and oxygen consumption rates, Survival rate was significantly declined below $6.7{\%_{\circ}}$ salinity, and daily growth rate was also reduced below $10.1{\%{\circ}}$. Body length and weight of gobiids reared below $10.1{\%_{\circ}}$ were smaller than those of gobiids reared above $20.2{\%_{\circ}}$. Oxygen consumption rate in the salinity conditions ${\leq}13.4{\%_{\circ}}$ was significantly reduced with decreasing salinity than that in natural seawater ($33.6{\%_{\circ}}$), This study revealed that low salinity reduced survival, growth and oxygen consumption rates of the juvenile gobiids suggesting potential influence on the natural mortality of F gymnauchen in the coastal areas.

  • Despite the recent sharp growth in the baby product market, previous studies on preschooler clothing have centered primarily on surveys regarding body size and consumer buying behavior, with little emphasis given to consumption value in preschooler clothing. This study aimed to assess the feasibility of using standards of consumption value to examine the behavior of those who buy preschooler clothing. The research subjects were mothers of preschoolers aged 1 to 6 years. They were asked to complete a questionnaire online at major parenting blogs found on portal sites (n=346). The questionnaire contained 41 questions based on a literature review, and 25 questions having convergent and discriminant validity were analyzed. By conducting a regression analysis of standards of consumption value in preschooler clothing and their perceived value, the feasibility of the standards was assessed. The results showed that consumption value in preschooler clothing was associated with 21 questions and 8 factors. The factors measuring consumption value included vicarious satisfaction, social value, functional value, convenience, financial value, aesthetic value, uniqueness, and circumstantial value. This study is significant in that it expands the scope of research on preschooler clothing, lays the groundwork for measuring consumption value in preschooler clothing, and predicts consumer behaviors by identifying the consumption value among mothers of preschoolers.

  • For the last half a century, Korea has been experienced rapid economic growth and industrialization development, however they cause serious problems that environment pollution and energy shortage are appeared, and the biggest problem that we are now confronted are required solutions through all over the world. Now, Korea's energy consumption is the 10th in the whole world. Among them, energy for buildings, about 25% in the whole Energy which spend in Korea, is very serious. Especially, the energy consumption of school buildings which have heating & cooling system according to improvements of educational environment are rapidly increasing. These features are explicit in the University, Because it has lots of colleges and facilities for lecture, experiment, and research. Especially, electric power consumption account for 75 percent of energy consumption in educational institutions. Accordingly, it is important to understand and analyze the pattern of electricity energy consumption which is used. This study attempts to appoint the place which is one of university and to investigate the characteristics of energy consumption like electricity, gas, oil.

  • The effect of growth rate change on glucose consumption and Ammonia production rate in batch culture of hybridoma was studied. The methods regulating growth rate of hybridoma were 1) decrease of serum concentration, 2) decrease of culture temperature and 3) addition of growth inhibitor (thymidine). The experimental results showed that hybridoma growth rate was dropped by 20~50%, while glucose consumption and ammonia production rate was decreased up to 40% On the other hand, the final concentration of monoclonal antibody was shown to be increased as high as 100% when the concentration of serum was decreased from 2% to 0.2%.

  • The effects of feeding frequency on the growth, food consumption, body composition, and hematological response of the Korean rockfish Sebastes schlegelii were investigated for 77 days at ambient water temperatures (17.2-24.5℃) in a sea cage in Tongyeong, Korea. Three replicate groups of fish were hand-fed to satiation with a commercial diet in one of four different feeding frequency trials (one meal every 2 days, and one, two and three meals per day). At the end of the experiment, the mean weight gain, specific growth rate, and daily feed intake of fish fed one and two meals per day were significantly higher than those of fish fed one meal every 2 days or three meals per day. The feed efficiency of the fish fed three meals per day was significantly lower than that of the fish in the other groups. The glucose concentration of fish fed one meal every 2 days was significantly higher than that of the other groups. We conclude that the optimum feeding frequency for improving the growth of Korean rockfish weighing 100-200 g reared in sea cages is one meal per day under our experimental conditions.

  • Household debt in Korea raises concerns about the resilience of the economy due to its size and quality. Against this backdrop, we investigate if household leverage matters for private consumption in adverse economic environments even without severe financial disruptions. We find that the balance sheet positions in terms of the leverage ratio may weaken consumption growth. We also find that the depressive effect of debt on consumption may differ across types of consumer spending and household characteristics. In particular, the effects of indebtedness have been much stronger in relation to durable goods expenditures than in other areas. In addition, debtors in high-income (wealth) groups have also shown downward adjustments in consumption even more so than low-income (wealth) groups. These findings imply that debtors' precautionary behavior may serve as an important channel from leverage to consumer spending.
